Agreed, I met David a few years ago, thoroughly decent chap and their work is first class. In fact he came to look at my 1937 Ringnetter but sadly he didn’t buy it. Great to see he has saved another ringer, looks beautiful.

I hope Cockwells get loads of business from this, they did an amazing job. The boat looks just awesome. I can't really explain why I got emotional at the end with the music. I guess I was more invested in seeing this little boat and the support team that help it get where it needs to go than I thought. Its such a great series, a gem on RUclips that needs far more exposure than its getting.
Also its been so interesting seeing parts of the UK I just didn't know existed. Can't wait for the next part with the now swole little Goodwin back on the open sea.

Am in Kleinburg ON and it's been about 12 yrs ago now since I was in the TX Panhandle and seeing head North off the interstates esp I35 through the Twin Cities across St Croix River and into WI , that brought back some good memories of my days in all these beautiful places . That was a great trip for the Spring/ Summer 23 . It was all green hills and vallies. That camper is a great addition , small size but perfect for cozy camping and road trips . Loved the show and let's have some more . The music selection is just perfect ....
This is such a brilliant series. I've enjoyed every episode this past two and a half years. The last three eps off the water have been particularly enjoyable. Be it the lads at the Ferrari House or the lads in Cockwells - the passion and enthusiasm shown has been immense. Such goodwill towards Goodwin and Harry. Looking forward to the trip continuing. Harry, I have been boating in small boats for the best part of 50 years, my current boat is a Finnish boat, a 16 foot Terhi 475BR. It has a Honda 60 on the back and just exceeds 32 knots.
Your smaller boat should do better than 26 knots. The problem is the prop. It needs a 3 bladed prop for speed, not 4. The 4 bladed prop gives acceleration, but you don't need that much torque in such a light boat. Lose the 4 bladed prop and put a 3 bladed one on instead. My boat uses a 15 inch Honda prop, but is heavier than your boat, so that pitch prop would be a good starting point for yours. Make sure max revs are as close as possible to 6000 as it will greatly improve fuel consumption and performance if the motor is not struggling.
Good tips! We are quite heavy as Goodwin has a flooding keel. So to get on the plane it requires quite a lot of grip to empty out the keel and get it moving.
Harry, that is no reason to put an inefficient prop on that cripples your top speed. You have 50hp now so that should compensate anyway, but in any case, hold it just off the plane for a few seconds to drain the water and then you are good to go as any normal light rib. That is assuming your hull has a drain system as you go on the plane. If not, you are doing well to get 26 knots!

Ps: were you fully trimmed when you did the speed test? Maybe back to a three blade if you want more top speed vs hole shot! Goes to show, the old two strokes had grunt, and power was measured differently, though, will be good to see your fuel consumption difference now 👍
Ive been fiddling with the nmea network and have instantaneous fuel consumption data and we can now properly calculate range with is a joy.

Oh well done Harry! An aftermarket prop will give you the desired speed and power, not that you need it, but only the best for Goodwin... Great to show non boat owners the amount of elbow grease that goes into restoring and maintaining a vessel. Looking forward to your next adventure.

I used to work next door to Dave's, down at Ponsharden and there were always interesting things happening. They obviously deserve this publicity in return for the work they've put in for you. Thank you Harry for some outboard engine top tips. I have just tinkered with my first outboard motor, on first start it’s water tail got slower, I then I remembered Harry having the same issue. Poked the little hole and gave it a clean and it’s fully working, no need for new impeller😃😃😄

How has this channel still only got just over 100k subs? It deserves a hundred times that. I would watch the entire series in huge chunks, endlessly. Just a fantastic picture of the varied and spectacular coastline of this rock in the ocean we call home, amongst many other things. A new episode never fails to make me smile, the music is perfect - happy and full of the feeling of being joyously free. Thank you Harry, support team, everyone who has helped the project along, especially Cockwells for everything they did and the fascinating insight into what they do day to day, and not least to thanks to Goodwin for being the best little boat in the anywhere.

Boat looks fab and the team were so kind with their time and skills, next gadget for the boat is a sharrow prop ( look them up)
Always enjoy and appreciate your videos Harry. In regards to Goodwin’s disappointing top speed with the new engine, it sounds like she needs a coarser prop. Particularly as you commented she has bite on take off. The current prop is probably for a bigger heavier boat so the revs are maxing out with a light load on the prop.
Is it wrong that I find myself watching this cheering for "Goodwin".. The determination and generosity on display here is inspiring . As is the entire project. Thank you Harry

Goodwin is now one of a kind and perhaps to become one of the most famous speedboats, I can almost feel how proud he is of his new look and equipment. That new engine is akin to an increase in his manhood too.

Excellent video as always Harry, not overly surprised about the top speed as you've added an awful lot of gear to a 4m RIB that weighs a lot, I think the chap at Freemans is right about the prop being 4 bladed due to the weight of the boat and getting the Goodwin onto the plane...Cockwells have done an excellent job on Goodwin too...top job all round
