I picked up the Laowa 33mm 0.95 Last week and i have to say the lens is absouley the best 3rd party lens i have ever used. The APO is true! I hope they make an 18mm or 16mm in the future :) Another great video!

An entertaining upload. Plus you have that advantage of sounding a bit like Akim Tamiroff, who along with Luis Alberni is one if my favorite character actors. An appealing lens, and you live in an appealing town. Interesting that the name of Argus is back. I had one of those tank like Argus cameras from the what, early 1960's? Totally indestructible and that focusing gear could put a serious dent in your thumb.

Hey! Would you recommend this one or the 7artisans 25mm T1.05 in terms of sharpness at lower apertures? I do both photos and video and can't pick between the 2.

I think this one is sharper in the centre at f0.95, this would be a better option if you want to take photos as well.

Hi Andrei: I really liked your balanced review of the 25 mm f/0.95 lens. I have the Fuji version. I love the lens a lot with the "necessary" quirks at this wide aperture. The design is pure joy! One thing that annoys me more and more as time passes is the weird manual focsuing. I love manual focusing and I enjoy using it. This lens has multiple focusing points (2) and it acts differently if I go from infinity or from a close range. (for example the Laowa 65 mm does not have it) Actually the manual alludes to something like that in a convulated English: with floating element "multiple sets of floating matched focusing can be achieved." I can get sharp focusing but to achieved and verify it, it is a weird and quirky way. I have a multitude of manual focus lenses and none exhibit this behavior. Is it a defective floating element? Have you experienced anything like that? I'd appreciate your comments. (Writing to Laowa got me no anwser.)

Thank you! Interesting, that floating effect happens when you use autofocus lenses in manual focus mode on Fujifilm, but it never happened to me with a manual lens or with the Laowa 25mm f/0.95. Maybe you should send it back for checkup.

Which has better image quality in your opinion, this one or the 7artisans 25mm T1.05 cine lens?

For video both lenses are amazing! Both have a nice character and good image quality.

Does it make sense to buy this if you already have XF 23 1.4 R?

Nice lens. Too bad it does not have electronic contacts or weather sealing. I wish IRIX would make lenses for Fuji.
