Good stuff! brothers from different mothers!
Quite a distance from palitoy factory 😂😂but yes coalville) palitoy a bus ride away Leicester toy shop is amazing 1 of the best in the country 👍👍
What a nice guy I could listen to him talk all day.
Cool episode. Loved seeing Bullet Man a few times throughout!
Another great episode. Can't believe i have never been to the shop. That will need to change once back to normal!
Yeah, that episode was definitely better than the first two.
No fake tears, no fake drama.
But honestly, pretty much every small toy store I know sells online. In the toy groups on FB it looks like people are actually buying more right now. I know I do.
You'd sell all that Star Wars and Motu stuff in day.
Yeah that’s why we avoid the Facebook sales pages to be honest, selling stuff is easy the art though is in the finding of the stuff in the first place. If we sell everything no one would come to the shop anymore 🤷♂️ it’s not all about the money. We love having the toys in so we can enjoy them as well.
Such a bloody lovely chap! Will get up there for a visit one day.
I done a couple of videos on Leicester vintage toys it's a great shop!
He is a genuine and honest guy he is great. I cant wait to visit the shop :-)
Now this was a great episode of A Toy Store Near You
Leicester representing the UK with style! Great show from fellow shop & glad to see it's not just me who's a car boot sale addict.
Brilliant episode. Heaps of soul and just a really good watch!
I love the continuity between 1313 Mockingbird Lane having Boglins and then we have a Boglin shirt! Man this is going to be tough to continue. I hope it continues!
Really enjoyed this episode it was quiet fun and interesting.
I loved this , first time viewer I'm going to give him a visit as I'm from Derby
Great video guys. Anytime your in Leicester go visit Leicester Vintage you wont be disappointed. Great selection of toys and great customer service. Keep up the good work. We will be back. Sadly, they have closed again as Leicester plunges into a second lockdown. Lets hope it doesn't last. Stay positive !
Nice to see Leicester representing the UK in a great international docu-series. Great idea for a show and much needed positive story.
Love this store. Awesome staff, amazing selection and great prices.
Great episode, Leicester Vintage & Old Toys is such a great place. Joe is a really nice guy (and really funny too!)
Can’t wait to see “In A Landfill Far, Far Away” about the buried Palitoy Star Wars figures.
Great to see Leicester on the TV :-D
So much toy nostalgia!
Love this man and love Nacelle for what they are doing. Kudos all around.
I love watching Joe on his videos on his personal channel
Great episode! I hope Joseph Hand can keep his business afloat - good luck to the Vintage and Old Toy Shop! I really like how he talks about nostalgia factor, which is something I have come to understand in a whole new way since I became a toy collector a bit shy of a decade ago. I suppose I used to feel that collecting out of nostalgia was a bit sad, but when I experienced the rush of spontaneous joy when I'd stumble on something I loved as a kid, instead of causing me to spend a lot of time sitting around feeling wistful, it injected an excitement into my present day that I think radiated out into everything I do. I found community and creativity (started making stuff, which is something I enjoyed as a kid). The people I've met through collecting are amazing and wonderful, and have as much to do with my wish to continue collecting as the objects themselves. So, yeah, I know I'm blathering on a bit, so I'll just stop by saying thanks for this warm-hearted and cheerful video series. (and I want to find my way to that Palitoy town once we kick Covid-19... will they let you bring a shovel on a plane, do you think?)
Great video. Your Alien appears to be a Kenner Canada version. If it is this version, it will have no copyright on the finger lever, on the back of the head. It's also shot in a more gray, than the USA Kenner version. It also has glue that seeps from the seams of the toy. It's certainly less common than the USA Kenner version. I have a boxed version of both. Again, great video.
Yes the Irwin one, i had never seen one in the flesh before and yes no copyright on the trigger or the back of the head. Thanks for confirming it, a friend thought the same. Weird that one got sent to Palitoy but we’ve found so many different country variants locally. Thanks again.
Joe 👍
Was it Lee that is your friend? He contacted me on Facebook about it. Yes, it is the Kenner Canada version, made at Irwin, by what I see. By the way, your store is awesome!
That’s right! Steve thanks so much for your help! 👍
What a nice bloke.
Thank you for producing this series!!!!
Fantastic. Joe and his team are a great bunch, very friendly and they remember their customers and what they like (they even remember my son's favourite footy team). Love it in there and Joe's sold me most of my vintage Stormtrooper collection!
And great to see Tim too - he makes a great cuppa! 😃
35 seconds in you mention the long gone legend of Palitoy 😊
Those chaps....simply lit
He sounds like a great guy!
I love this show! Thank you so much for making it!
Great stuff joe!
Brilliant insight, i've bought plenty from you over the years at various toy shows. Never been to the shop but i intend to visit this year at some point
That store is awesome! 😭 I wanna live there 🥺...I promise I’ll always wear pants...mostly
Great video ✌🏽👍🏽
Great to see Bulletman from the action man range. I hope the 2nd lockdown in Leicester doesn't affect you 😞
I just noticed some of my footage in the video. Love it!
Great episode, great guy and great store! Nice to see an episode from my home country. And funnily enough, Leicester was the main story in UK news today - its being locked down tighter due to a localised surge there, so he'll most likely have to close down again unfortunately, since the government said non-essential businesses will have to close.
Yep, closed again! Thanks for the support bud 👍
Marc - @blue harvest toys sent me over. What an incredible looking shop!!! Sub'd and the bell is rung!!!
The insert at 5:15 is from Melbourne, Australia! That's the old treasury building in the background...
He sounds like Saul Goodman from better call Saul 😎
OMG Yasss! 💙💙
Hello from Leicester *waves*
"amazin"
If I would have known about this shop I would have visited as I went to pony con there 😊 (my little pony convention)
11:29 Did I detect a little Shakespeare?
Does the sound goes out of synch about halfway through for anyone else?
A bit of bad timings on Nacelle part here. They have gone back into full lockdown mode since this was uploaded. For at least the next 2 weeks.
or “timely” as all eyes are on Leicester so what better time to tell the story of our struggle in Lockdown. The Times did a follow on story with Joseph the owner the day we went back into lockdown which picks up where the film left off 👍
Looking round for wrestling figures
