As someone who has stanned Ryan Ross for 6 years, thank you for making this video. I've been a panic! Fan since Vices came out, but my favorite stuff will always be the pre split. I remember being so mad that I hadn't found them earlier lmao. Also I'm losing my fucking mind with all of this new Ryan Ross stuff too. Nice to see someone as excited as me.
I also freaked out when I saw he was socially revived haha, he’s definitely one of my favorite writers from the scene and I’m so happy he’s back in action and not disregarding Pretty Odd like Brendon does now. Really cool to see this all unfold and I hope for more of his content in the future!
I know that he's not as relevant as he used to be but the fact that he could sell out a show that we don't even really know what's going on with, and have this much of an impact to this day without evening releasing an album let alone a solo single that's not with z is crazy! Honestly this might sound really petty and stupid, but it really irks me that Brendon Urie still goes by "panic at the disco". Panic at the disco hasn't been a band arguably since Spencer left, but really since Dylan left, but since Panic is still technically a band he still get nominated for all the duo/band awards, and not that he doesn't deserve them, but he belongs in the soloist/pop category now. Really in my eyes what really made panic was ryan ross. He was the driving force behind that band, and the songs on afycso are deep and still relevant today, like you said, but they are also deeply personal to ryan ross, their creator. I thought that I had commented this back when I saw this video in 2020 but I just noticed I hadn't. But my point Is HE DID A PODCAST in 2020. I can't remember what podcast or the name of the woman he's speaking to but I'll find it and comment a link. It used to be on RUclips but it's not anymore. He talks about Panic and Young Veins, where he's been, etc. He speaks for about 25-30 before she cuts him off but still I loved what we do get. Ryan's 1 of my favorite musicians & I see him up there along with Tom Delonge Layne Staley Jason Lancaster I've heard a few new artists I think stand out among the rest like Kenny Hoopla, Lizzie Mcalpine, & Nessa Barrett (yes the 20 yr old TikToker, her music is unique & really good imo) but I don't see anyone that even comes close to the talent & godly abilities of those 4.
You're videos are pretty fuckin' fantastic for how little subs you have. Keep it up, I definitely see you getting there. I'm not even a new or old head in the scene scene, but after watching your Bryan starz video I subbed just for how dope YOU are.
I'm 26 now and was definitely a fan of the originals, and even I didn't realize how much of a part Ryan Ross played behind the actual "work" of the writing. As a teenager I didn't research as much as I would as an adult as far as writing credits/creative credits go. 🤷🏻♀️ Glad to see I'm not the only one. Doesn't make us any less of a fan. A lot of people are criticizing those for saying they aren't a fan of Brendon Urie now. That's our personal choice👌🏻 probably not a popular opinion but I am definitely not a fan of the pop star thing now. Artists grow, yes, but I'm not a fan of the content anymore.
first of all check z berg she is an amazing artist. also you may know her voice from nothing matters but you cover by the young veins. and you haven't mentioned the bad list which was the first step for ryan to start releasing music again(even if it's duet with z and mv is super aesthetically pleasing). also he was supposed to have single out before/during the dekc tour idk what happened to it (my guess: livevil cause of the merch). about panic: i don't think he heard any of new records on purpose (mayybe it's just me idk) but i think when he left he thought panic was over and i if it was my band i wouldn't like the fact that it became solo pop project(i love brendon but duuh). also i don't see r&b (or any former members) returning to panic(or collaborating with b or b collaborating with them) all of them grew too much musically apart. so yea and talking about pre-split panic and why the split happened is irrelevant cause it was 10y ago and concentrate more on the future plans these are only my opinions don't hate me for them (:
Unfortunately I do believe Zach Hall when he hinted at Ryan having substance abuse issues, much like Spencer Smith, which contributed to the Young Veins parting ways and Ryan going into almost complete isolation. I hope this is not the case, but I really do suspect it is. We all have our demons, I just hope he can overcome his.
he actually did a podcast episode in 2019 with Paige Elkington where he mentioned his struggle with alcohol abuse. he has gotten help though and seems to be doing a lot better. you can find the episode on youtube👍
i straight up stopped listening to panic! after ryan left. really not a fan of brendon & his solo music but all the power to him, glad for his success. i just assumed all the stuff ryan was doing was like, "if you were in LA, you would know." doubt he's looking to be big in the music business. i think he just wants to have fun and do small stuff with his friends. somehow i missed that interview & clip of northern downpour when that happened although i followed his instagram... but that's awesome he sang that song and i always hope he's doing well. i hope he writes a book or something, i'd love that. he's such an influence on me as a writer.
Regardless of any time performing for fans that Ryan may have lost from having to leave panic, I hope he always remembers that he created something with his heart, that will stand the test of time and live forever. Just by writing those records, and writing those lyrics, he brought to life something that no one can EVER tear down. Something that will be a part of the universe forever, and will be able to help people after Ryan and all of us who grew up with that band are gone. He is one of the greats, because his art will never stop making us ponder.
I was heavily part of the emo kids scene that happened AFTER and BEFORE everything relevant like we would just reminisce about the old days we weren’t even apart of. We had no idea that brendon urie would get so big we didn’t think Ryan Ross would come back we never dreamed of an mcr reuinion, all we had going for us really was fall out boy coming back... I’ve been listening to mcr since literally months before they broke up but most of the years listening to them they weren’t together and they were my favourite band. We used to obsess of pre-split panic and Ryan Ross in general to the point where some people even HATED brendon and hated what he was doing with patd (I never took it that far I still loved v&v and twtltrtd just not as much as afycso and po). Everyone was split by liking new or old fob (I’ll always be on the side of old fob especially since I really couldn’t get into their newest album) It was a weird time really. We were a group of 12-16 year olds who didn’t really get to see anything happen and were basically celebrating and romanticizing the past like the “I was born in the wrong generation” kids... I’m 18 now and seeing all the news of bands getting back together or artists making a resurgence makes me really happy for the current kids who have just fallen into the emo scene.
Yeah same here i was about 9 and i was sad when i found two amazing bands (patd and mcr) when i found out they were both split it felt kinda dull cause i had missed out on both that the previous generation got to experience
i'm bummed that i just watched this now lol. i'm really proud that ryan had finally come out of the cave. he has been promising new music since 2015 (i was still active back then lol). he's been doing those kind of gigs since 2016/17, along with his friends, they're a bunch of LA music friends, idk if z and him are a thing (again) but back in tyv era they were. i'm proud of him because he's talking about panic! again and even sang northern downpour. it actually got pretty ugly between ryan and brendon back then, if you're aware about the panic! stalker back in 2012. this stalker pretended she was brendon and texted ryan for a while and from what i remember ryan thought they (brendon and him) were in good terms only to find out it wasn't really brendon. i think that's one of the reasons why ryan and brendon's (and the whole band to an extent) relationship was not in a good light. but in 2015 of course the halloween party happened and we're glad to know they were really (back?) in good terms so at least there's that. also there's shane morris business that's also ugly. like many other fans i just want them to communicate or something because it's really cool to know they're all still friends but yes like what you said brendon's like doing quite big things now and basically they have different lives now. overall i really admire ryan, he's still my favorite person and i'm glad just as much as you are that he's out there again. ryan had been throught a lot so i understand the delay and all. i still love him and his music all the same.
Personally, I never got into the scene thing, even mocked it during its height when I was about 13. Lately I've found my 25 year old self watching every single one of your videos because your storytelling is absolutely captivating. Your style of criticizing music is refreshingly human, and I can't wait until you get the recognition you deserve. Its only a matter of time, because the algorithm has seemed to taken a liking to you in the past few months. When you're doing collabs with Fantano and Finn McKennty don't forget about us, the og first 7k subs. Love you and take care bud
I didn’t even realize he was back- i guess i read a couple of the dates on recent videos as like a few years ago- not months...i only knew about his interview with Crankthatfrank
I agree definitely. I'm a big fan since 2006 also I think a fever you can't sweat out album is the greatest album ever... and the new panic is good but not as the old one. There should be something about the old panic. God! It's been 15 years. Well at least Ryan is back.
You should start a podcast and have Ryan Ross come on so you can interview him :) sounds far fetched but I bet you/your subscribers can make it happen. bet.
It's funny that someone made this video. I was obsessed when A Fever... came out. A friend played me "Lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off" and I was _in love_ Obsessed, really. Anyway, he's an idiot for leaving Panic! it was indeed career suicide. Panic! was HUGE and he just disappeared and never came back and look and Brendan all hella successful by himself now. Tsk tsk Ryan, you let down many, many people and where are you now?!? YOU HAD ONE JOB!!!!! xo
I'm guessing dead end kids club is a supergroup. I did a little research. Z berg is from the band called "Phases", Palm Springsteen is a band but the guy is lead singer Nick Hinman and Dan Keyes is the lead singer for the band "Young Love" and Ryan's close friend, and they are all collaborating as one band. I know i was just confused as you are. And the reason why ryan hasn't been keeping update is because he's making new music probably as a solo artist and him touring with dead end kids club.
hey thank you so much for the clarification!! that makes a lot of sense. i should def check out some of the other dead end kids club members music now. i can't wait for ryan's new stuff obviously lmao. thanks for watching and for the helpful info :)
I said it in another comment I'm a guitarist that plays an listen to as I lay dying an bands that live in the metalcore genre bit even I think a fever u cant sweat out is a legendarily album...oh..an Brendan's new shit is exactly that...dookie
I wonder if all the bands of this era realized it simultaneously when the world just said to all record labels... we've bought enough music... will still listen to stuff and all but the whole buying and albums thing i think were good lol...
do you like Melanie Martinez?? I lost friends for stanning her (someone made false allegations about her and my friends were like "we're not friends if you support melanie") and for coming out as queer
Sorry if you already know, but Ryan did a Podcast with Paige Elkington last year! There's not a lot about music, but he talks about The Dead End Kid's Club some and it's just nice to listen to. Here's a link if you want to listen to it: ruclips.net/video/Z2whr37PRgo/видео.html
Right? This guy didn't give Brendon enough credit... the dude legit revived a band name after all his old members left. I haven't heard anyone else doing this... and to just say Brendon is just pop was offensive. Yeah he does pop but he does experiment with different sounds.
@@lilymae7516 i think brendon is a great singer but panics new stuff is pretty bad. I don’t think he should still be using the band name, he should just’ve gone solo

dude this whole video reminds me of me raving to myself in the mirror about ryan ross DAILY
Brendan will never be able to top a fever you can’t sweat out. Also Ryan wrote those songs are 17? Wtffff
Ryan's 1 of my favorite musicians & I see him up there along with
Tom Delonge
Layne Staley
Jason Lancaster
I've heard a few new artists I think stand out among the rest like Kenny Hoopla, Lizzie Mcalpine, & Nessa Barrett (yes the 20 yr old TikToker, her music is unique & really good imo) but I don't see anyone that even comes close to the talent & godly abilities of those 4.
I loved “pretty Odd” I use to love Ryan Ross. Thank you for making this video. ♥️
You're videos are pretty fuckin' fantastic for how little subs you have. Keep it up, I definitely see you getting there.
I'm not even a new or old head in the scene scene, but after watching your Bryan starz video I subbed just for how dope YOU are.
i know i am 2 years late, but immediately clicked when i saw this video. ryan ross, the love of my life.
I love your videos ❤️ been binge watching them all 😅
first of all check z berg she is an amazing artist. also you may know her voice from nothing matters but you cover by the young veins. and you haven't mentioned the bad list which was the first step for ryan to start releasing music again(even if it's duet with z and mv is super aesthetically pleasing). also he was supposed to have single out before/during the dekc tour idk what happened to it (my guess: livevil cause of the merch).
about panic: i don't think he heard any of new records on purpose (mayybe it's just me idk) but i think when he left he thought panic was over and i if it was my band i wouldn't like the fact that it became solo pop project(i love brendon but duuh). also i don't see r&b (or any former members) returning to panic(or collaborating with b or b collaborating with them) all of them grew too much musically apart. so yea and talking about pre-split panic and why the split happened is irrelevant cause it was 10y ago and concentrate more on the future plans
these are only my opinions don't hate me for them (:
i've seen the livevil shirts, im assuming people buy them at the shows? is there any other way to get one?
A five piece Panic! Reunion, Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, John Walker, Spencer Smith and Dallon Weekes. Now that would be a reunion.
Yes, but also no: Dallon would have to disband idkhow for that. But the former four's reunion would be straight epicness!
He was also featured in the song The Bad List by Z Berg
Unfortunately I do believe Zach Hall when he hinted at Ryan having substance abuse issues, much like Spencer Smith, which contributed to the Young Veins parting ways and Ryan going into almost complete isolation. I hope this is not the case, but I really do suspect it is. We all have our demons, I just hope he can overcome his.
he actually did a podcast episode in 2019 with Paige Elkington where he mentioned his struggle with alcohol abuse. he has gotten help though and seems to be doing a lot better. you can find the episode on youtube👍
god i miss ryan ross
i straight up stopped listening to panic! after ryan left. really not a fan of brendon & his solo music but all the power to him, glad for his success. i just assumed all the stuff ryan was doing was like, "if you were in LA, you would know." doubt he's looking to be big in the music business. i think he just wants to have fun and do small stuff with his friends. somehow i missed that interview & clip of northern downpour when that happened although i followed his instagram... but that's awesome he sang that song and i always hope he's doing well. i hope he writes a book or something, i'd love that. he's such an influence on me as a writer.
He is one of the greats, because his art will never stop making us ponder.
honestly i love ryan sm, hes pretty much my biggest idol
My Feeling Are Finally In WORDS!!!!! thank you for this!!
Yeah same here i was about 9 and i was sad when i found two amazing bands (patd and mcr) when i found out they were both split it felt kinda dull cause i had missed out on both that the previous generation got to experience
THANK YOU for this video! this man is a genius
My Friend Podcast episode 3 is the interview you're looking for
did he manifest the my friend paige podcast??? :O
9:20 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH “tears in my eyes”
i'm bummed that i just watched this now lol. i'm really proud that ryan had finally come out of the cave. he has been promising new music since 2015 (i was still active back then lol). he's been doing those kind of gigs since 2016/17, along with his friends, they're a bunch of LA music friends, idk if z and him are a thing (again) but back in tyv era they were.
i'm proud of him because he's talking about panic! again and even sang northern downpour. it actually got pretty ugly between ryan and brendon back then, if you're aware about the panic! stalker back in 2012. this stalker pretended she was brendon and texted ryan for a while and from what i remember ryan thought they (brendon and him) were in good terms only to find out it wasn't really brendon. i think that's one of the reasons why ryan and brendon's (and the whole band to an extent) relationship was not in a good light. but in 2015 of course the halloween party happened and we're glad to know they were really (back?) in good terms so at least there's that. also there's shane morris business that's also ugly.
like many other fans i just want them to communicate or something because it's really cool to know they're all still friends but yes like what you said brendon's like doing quite big things now and basically they have different lives now.
overall i really admire ryan, he's still my favorite person and i'm glad just as much as you are that he's out there again. ryan had been throught a lot so i understand the delay and all. i still love him and his music all the same.
This might be one of my favorites! So funny, so real, so much love!!!
ryan ross did a podcast episode with his friend paige elkington! i would highly recommend listening to it even though it’s not about panic
He was and is a genious and mayby didn't want to become a pop sellout
i need you to make more of these
ayyy i gotchu ;) thanks for the kind words!!
GEN-X JOPLIN You missed out on iconic warped tours. Did you secretly like the bands/music? But made fun of it because it wasn’t ~cool~
did this man predict the mcr reunion lmao
Im in love with you for this
I met Ryan at z's Christmas show in December 2018 and it is still to this day the best night of my life. (My pfp)
I didn’t even realize he was back- i guess i read a couple of the dates on recent videos as like a few years ago- not months...i only knew about his interview with Crankthatfrank
His Soundcloud album is on RUclips if you want to listen to it!! It’s really good!
I agree definitely. I'm a big fan since 2006 also I think a fever you can't sweat out album is the greatest album ever... and the new panic is good but not as the old one. There should be something about the old panic. God! It's been 15 years. Well at least Ryan is back.
More amor - beach bones.. in case you didn’t know it existed and need some Ryan Ross in your life
You're doing God's work on this channel sir
Nice t-shirt!
thank you julian
u welcome :~)
YOU HAD ONE JOB!!!!! xo
When I read the title I thought that this vid was gonna be bashing him and I was about to THROW HANDS-
"first annual" lol
With all those last names sounds like bat mitzvah band
I said it in another comment I'm a guitarist that plays an listen to as I lay dying an bands that live in the metalcore genre bit even I think a fever u cant sweat out is a legendarily album...oh..an Brendan's new shit is exactly that...dookie
Actually I think Dookie by Green Day is a great album... lol ;)
4:57 Northern Downpour warning
I wonder if all the bands of this era realized it simultaneously when the world just said to all record labels... we've bought enough music... will still listen to stuff and all but the whole buying and albums thing i think were good lol...
"it would be on par with a my chemical romance reunion"
well, we got one,, just waiting for the other.
Behind The Sea is my favorite Panic! song. The underrated song the RYAN sang.
I need to know more. If you will know somethink new than tell us
I can't believe I just found my new favorite youtube channel
Just got this in my recommended lol
You are like that cool kinda nerdy uncle who I would go and ask for advice
do you like Melanie Martinez?? I lost friends for stanning her (someone made false allegations about her and my friends were like "we're not friends if you support melanie") and for coming out as queer
Carlie Maria how do you know the allegations are false though?
bri Melanie released a diss track ruclips.net/video/H0qskeXbZZM/видео.html.
ruclips.net/video/VjRGSVD4fJM/видео.html protect melanie at all costs 2019
Sorry if you already know, but Ryan did a Podcast with Paige Elkington last year! There's not a lot about music, but he talks about The Dead End Kid's Club some and it's just nice to listen to. Here's a link if you want to listen to it: ruclips.net/video/Z2whr37PRgo/видео.html
Brendon became popular not because of ryan. He is a extremely talented man.
Right? This guy didn't give Brendon enough credit... the dude legit revived a band name after all his old members left. I haven't heard anyone else doing this... and to just say Brendon is just pop was offensive. Yeah he does pop but he does experiment with different sounds.
@@lilymae7516 Yeah sure but Brendon is a rude guy.
@@lilymae7516 i think brendon is a great singer but panics new stuff is pretty bad. I don’t think he should still be using the band name, he should just’ve gone solo
