This was such a gift. For Charlotte to be able to laugh in such a poetic and raw way for that song is so powerful. Thank you for sharing and thank you for your open conversation after and your desire to laugh beyond the trauma.
This was on a WHOLE other level! DAMN! Individuality and originality were potent in this performance. Its so clear when artists are just like fuck it lets create what we like and put it out and whether or not people 'get' it, doesn't matter. Love it, love it.
ALSO I can't stop going back and rewatching the performance of HAHA. So unique and somehow feels like it depicts how the majority of the world is feeling right now. (fake laughter, hidden pain)

Discovered them live @La Gaite Lyrique in Paris last week (2023) and they smashed it.
They were also very cool to work with (i was a stagehand on that show).
The laughcry singing is weird as all hell

The first song is hilarious! Love their swagger, and sense of humor. This checks off a lot of boxes musically for me, in a deceptively simple way. The intro to Haha is genius, and I am not exaggerating. How brave do you have to be, to pull that off, and not have it sound contrived or cringey for even half a second?! This really is a great performance.

A word of appreciation for Larry, too - relaxed, warm, welcoming and what's more a really good listener. So many interviewers just don't listen to their interviewees' answers: but he turns this interview into a real conversation, which is a rare and all too often undervalued skill.
Bolis for me is the example how, with the right support and endurance, you can go from making some music to being an amazing musician. This sound so from another planet, this is insanely good. Thank you both!!!

@@JR-rn5sh Yes, the second song is after all called Making Sense Stop, probably a reference to Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense ;) I have thought of that early 80's scene in New York when I've heard them, like ESG and such, perhaps ~ guess Grace Jones could be thrown in there too, with Tom Tom Club recording, although not in Jamaica, but Bahamas… /oh, I heard now that they will play support for her
