Cocomar is always is always a must go for me. Boriquien, the pizza place next door is also good. It must suck letting prices determine and limit what you eat on vacation. My usual staples in PV is La Nena and Lydias Place. I mostly load-up at Super Negro and do a fair amount of cooking and smoking at a rental.

Gallo pinto is the breakfast on most of the country.
Rice & Beans is a different thing, its the main and most famous CR caribbean meal, sad you didnt tried cause you confused it with a gallo pinto 😢
They look the same but are different thing and taste completely different, I saw you confused when The dude asked you if you wanted breakfast(gallo pinto) or Rice & Beans😅

How do you feel about the language in CR? Do you think there are enough people who speak English or is it a problem for you to communicate?

I didn’t have a language problem at all. Most people speak English.. at least in tourist areas. I also try to stack Spanish. I know 10-15 words, but trying to use them everywhere 🤪
And there’s always google translate and other similar apps

Are these prices high because these places are very touristy? Or prices more or less the same across Costa Rica?
Prices are up everywhere now.. where we live everything is way more expensive than it was 2-3 years ago.

@@TravelDiary-m4p Tourist prices in my opinion. When I visited Costa Rica some years ago the price of food in cafes and restaurants was about one third of what I might pay here in England, (I'm not referring to high end restaurants of course). The prices on those menus in Costa Rica were comparable to what I might pay here in the UK.

@@TravelDiary-m4p yeah tourist places! You can have a cheaper dish on rural restaurants or in the "sodas" that are very tipical and with lower prices. When I go to the beach or mountain I always look for the local options.

What do you mean for “Costa Rica”? So just because Costa Rica is considered a third world country, so everything should be cheap, that’s what you meant to say??? I mean, in Costa Rica you can find affordable places but also expensive places. You just need to look around and find what’s best for you. Is not the same thing eating at a tourist restaurant than eating at a local restaurant etc..
Btw nice video, I hope you enjoy your self in Costa Rica.
