I THINK IT'S MY FAVORITE Overlanding The Allegheny Discovery Route: December Edition

- This past December, as 2024 comes to a close, I was fortunate enough to explore the Allegheny Discovery Route! Traveling south, the route took me just over 500 miles from western Maryland, through West Virginia, and into Virginia's George Washington National Forest. Please join me in one of my favorite activities; overlanding (trying to get stuck while glamping) through some new territory. As of right now, the ADR is my favorite route in the east and I'll definitely be revisiting the highlights.
ICECO was kind enough to send me a JP40 Pro fridge/freezer to try out and test in an overlanding environment. So far, I'm very happy with the quality of the product, but I will be leaving a review on my channel soon. I'm not the only one that can benefit from this deal though. ICECO gave me some discounted links that can save you a few coin!
(ICECO Website) Code: FTE12
(ICECO Amazon) Code: ICECOAMZ12
Both will get you 12% off.

In other news, I opened a channel store on Etsy so if overlanding, hiking, adventure-styled merch is your thing, or you just need a shirt to do some painting in and want to support this channel click here ( foottireexplor... ) or copy and paste... Whatever works.
Great videos, nice job on the filming. Have you ever done a walk around video of your truck? Discussing specs etc?
Encouraging me to get my Tacoma dirty this year. Phenomenal videos. Definitely deserve way more subs!
Just got done doing this exact route two weekends ago!
I was up there in Oct. Had a great time!
2:32 I recognize this water crossing! I was in that area in April such an amazing network if trails and beautiful views. Great video man 🤙🏻
@@AT4OB thanks for watching!
Reddish knob is great, but it's also kinda a parking area so if you camp there in the summer you're sure to get a lot of traffic. The better group site would be about 25min North. For those that know know
enjoyed this! another East Coast route worth checking out Trans NH (at least first 2/3 starting at Canadian border). most moose I’ve seen while exploring VT/ME/NH
Thanks and again great videos
Enjoy your adventures
I love your Taco and your overlanding videos. Do you have a tacoma build setup info?
@mesinse1297 Thanks! I don't right now but your the 2nd to ask. Should it be a video typed out somewhere?
@@lyleSchmidta video breakdown would be awesome!
When you get a winch try the Kentucky Adventure Tour (KAT). That’s technical.
Thanks,I'll download it to gaia! Also there's literally a winch on the truck..
My Taco's break squeak a bit (Not as loud as yours. .
The rear brakes are drums and when combined with dirt roads/fine sand and water the brakes fill with "mud"
When you depress the brakes at low speeds the gunk rubs causing noise.
Great video!
@Bear_Burrito thanks for watching! Yeah really think it was just the cold water. Only happened right after the creek crossings and hasn't happened since.
Nice overland video. Curious about what drone you are using
Safe travels and have fun!
@@GoHiker thanks! DJI mavic3
Armorlite offers a full floor kit for your Toyota, I had it in my 2dr wrangler, high quality kit
Your the man!
Definitely need to check out this route. Reddish Knob is paved because President Clinton went there for some National Forest celebration.
I almost died in the Dry Fork crossing in my 85 Bronco. Back in 1987.
Typically on that crossing, if you can’t see the rocks in the middle then the water is too high to cross. Good call on not attempting. Also, it’s pronounced ka-nane.
Where did you get the gpx file for this route? Or what app did you find it on? Good video! Nice set up.
@JakeKarrasch thanks! I got the file from overland trail guides and use gaia GPS to view it.
Is this route on onx off-road or what’s the best way to find it?
@CapeAnnDrifter I had to get it off overland trail guides. I just looked and it's not on OnX.
You did this December of 2024?
