I TRIED HIKING 100 MILES It Reminded Me Of A Valuable Lesson!
In this episode, I really wanted to get back to long-distance hiking like I experienced on my 2021 thru-hike. As I do, the planning of the trip was a little overly ambitious. Rather than finding the satisfaction my ego wanted from covering 100 miles in five days, I was reminded of many things I learned from the Pacific Crest Trail. Thank you for watching! These hiking videos don't pull as many views as the overlanding content but I really do think I get more out of them personally.

I THINK IT'S MY FAVORITE Overlanding The Allegheny Discovery Route: December Edition
Просмотров 7 тыс.Месяц назад
This past December, as 2024 comes to a close, I was fortunate enough to explore the Allegheny Discovery Route! Traveling south, the route took me just over 500 miles from western Maryland, through West Virginia, and into Virginia's George Washington National Forest. Please join me in one of my favorite activities; overlanding (trying to get stuck while glamping) through some new territory. As o...

This fall, I finally got to tackle a type of trail I've been looking forward to driving for a long time; a Backcountry Discovery Route! The North East BDR is the longest and first of many BDRs I hope to complete on this channel. Follow me up the Northeast for the first time on a mixed route made for adventure motorcycles and indulge in the fall colors.
Hiking A Wild Alaskan Mountain
Просмотров 4645 месяцев назад
In 2021 I visited Prince Of Wales Island Alaska and as any normal person would I decided to hike to the tallest peak I could find. Twice the mountain put me in my place but now in 2024, I'm taking it on again. I hope you enjoy my brother and me on my third attempt at this wild Alaskan mountain and the beginning of what might turn into a lifelong rivalry with Never Summer Peak.
Longest Overland Trail In Texas/THE TEXAS TRAVERSE
Просмотров 84 тыс.7 месяцев назад
After completing the Hill Country Tour I wanted to know what else Texas had to offer in the overlanding space. So I linked the Hill Country Tour to the Texas Travers and headed east across the state. After navigating across river and stream crossings along an old historic cattle trail and busting thunderstorms near Waco I discovered 2 top notch campsites among the pines of east Texas. There's s...
Overlanding Central Texas / THE HILL COUNTRY TOUR

Being from Texas I've often wondered what kind of overlanding adventures I might be missing out on. Follow my brother and I as we set out to explore the Texas Hill Country on one of Texas's few overland routes. Along the way we cross rivers, spot wildlife and set a pretty nice camp for the night along the Llano River. If you enjoyed or got anything from this video please like and subscribe or s...
The South Carolina Off Road Trail You Probably Haven't Heard Of

May 2024 I set out to drive the South Carolina Adventure Route solo. Not only did the trail have some surprises for me but had me heading home early with only half the route completed. I hope you enjoy this overland adventure and come back for the next half when I redeem myself in the completion of this route. I find it can be difficult to find overlanding routes on the east coast so I hope thi...

Well the time has finally come so we loaded down the Tacoma with all our camping and climbing gear and brought the dogs along for the ride. I spent a day on the Rappahannock River to find out how far I could kayak in a single day and how I would go about filming it. What started out as a relaxing day on the water with the company of mostly birds was made exciting in the afternoon by a family of River Otters.

In this quick adventurous trip I head to New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia to meet up with O'Brien from the Great Smoky Mountains episode. This time our goal is to find cliffs more extreme than the one we found in the Smoky's but now accompanied by Mr Bowie; the coolest K9 you're ever likely to meet. Weekend Adventure Rappelling The Great Smoky Mountains

With a long weekend at our disposal O'Brien, his buddy Thomas and I hit up Great Smoky Mountain NP and the surrounding area for some camping and the possibility of rappelling off a mountain top that had caught my eye the last time I had driven through the park. Chimney Top did not disappoint as a hike or as a great spot for these guys to learn rappelling basics. We were surprised by the amount ...
North Carolina A Night In The Woods
Просмотров 67711 месяцев назад
Ive always found that when life has me a bit stressed out I can always run off to the woods for a night and come out the next day feeling better. In Guam it was often an evening hike up a mountain to watch the sun set. Now it's often driving a backroad into the woods to watch a fire burn; both have the same effect. I might not have had a shower the next day or a clean shave but I feel as if I'v...

A Quest For Canada: A Walk On The Pacific Crest Trail
Love the vid. Small correction, you started at Rockfish Gap.
Ya got balls that’s for sure
Those Francis Marion mud holes are no joke. Fun to see somebody from Maryland adventuring in my neck of the woods. Even the Flying J in Jedburg made an appearance, ha. 1 mile from my house.
This is a good example of why Texas sucks. Public facilities and Parks and Recreation are ass. Great documentrary tho
Youve got a lot to learn buddy! For you to leave the trees sticking out for someone else to hang on is not good at all. Especialy at night! Leave it for somebody else to finish when one more cut and 1 more pull for the one on the right. Dont just think of yourself think of others too!
If i came up on a man or woman out on their underwear i would have serious thoughts wether i should help them or not especialy a man!
Hey man, keep it up, im sure you have. Youll figure it out. Dont worry about what people may think. Take the constructive criticism and have fun with it.
enjoyed this! another East Coast route worth checking out Trans NH (at least first 2/3 starting at Canadian border). most moose I’ve seen while exploring VT/ME/NH
Those aren't frogs you hear those are cicadas
Great video of your adventure! I recently did a two-night overlanding trip similar to this, on the Chisholm Trail Byway. I deviated from Burnet a little bit, staying the first night at Barefoot Camp near Bend, TX. Then I booked the 2nd night at Meridian State Park, which is just off the OnX Route. I really enjoyed it, even though it was about 30% pavement and the water crossings were not as deep. I’m definitely itching to make it all the way to Toledo Bend at some point.
was the last camp spot in video mott lake?
Well done In a off-grid situation, using 12v battery/solar, is it better to run 12vDC to the refrig or convert to 120vAC with an inverter. The inverter uses a certain amount of power just to opperate.
That looks like it would work great in a boat as well.
@@SWSchmidt-d3r absolutely! I didn't even think of that.
That’s our cabin @ 2:49 on sandpit road. Nice video hope you can get to come back and finish the route. I never knew this existed!
That’s shits sweet yall duck hunt it?
@ a few have been known to die
Drive through state? SC is arguably the most significant state during the Revolutionary War and Civil War. SC is significant for countless reasons and one of the most beautiful and amazing outdoors states. Beaches mountains and everything in between. There are dozens of trails and parks in SC. Some through the state that are only for hiking, biking, or horses. Others via water.
Tundra starter is a bear to replace!
Great video. Some of those shots of your vehicle driving by look simple, but you have to drive the same place three times to get the shot. Place camera. Drive by. Go get camera. That's a lot of extra work, especially in the rain. 😅 Nice work! I'm subscribed and sharing with my friends in the hopes they will get the bug to travel like this. P.S. Congratulations on doing the whole NEBDR in flip flops.
Never heard of this trail and have lived in SC all my life and had many 4-wheel drive vehicles.
So a winch is in your future? 😏 Great video dude. The south is a different ball game. I’m from TN but spent most of my life in the southwest. Awesome wheeling. I have 30+ yrs of experience. But I’ve had to learn new skills here in SC. Make sure you come back.
Lake Hartwell Hwy-24/I-85 is my neck of the woods.
Props to you man that mudhole dive was brave. you have no other people and no winch.
Was an easy place to get help. Just trying to have fun
I've lived is SC for 70 years and never heard of the SC Adventure Trail. It would have been nice had you documented where you were every hundred miles or so. Really enjoyed the video.
SC adventure route. And the only reason I’m correcting you is because adventure trail spells SCAT haha
@dirtyrice843 lmao!
Great video. This country and Texas has a lot to offer for adventures.
Great video. I applaud your video skills and your ability to narrate your trek. If I were younger, I would definitely try it for myself. Stay safe out there with your future endeavors.
Great videos, nice job on the filming. Have you ever done a walk around video of your truck? Discussing specs etc?
Drill powered winches are great. I have a winch mounted on my rig, and still carry a drill powered winch anyway. I noticed the we-boost on your rig, but you still mentioned bad cell service. Are they worth the money? Also, I live on Hartwell Lake, and will be looking into doing this trip.
Nice truck looks heavy though, thats why the mud hole swallowed it.. yeah 10-4 on a winch..
Drive-through state? It's my home and it's AWESOME here! :)
You need to join an off road club with some people who know how to wheel. With a little experience, you could have pulled out of that hole
Failed mission!
That deer that ran out on funny of you at 30min
I am so looking forward to doing this!
Getting stuck going in, go back the way you came without a winch or someone else to pull you out.
What’s brand on your black multi cam seat covers?
Or are they woodland?

I have lived all around SC in my life and I have never heard of the SCAR, excited about the possibility of wheeling this or possibly taking a dirtbike down it!
You passed directly by my house while traveling out of Jamestown. Welcome to the Francis Marion national Forest.
Lancaster SC here and this trail ride might be just what I need for my FJ Cruiser.
What’s the name of the pond you stayed at in Angelina national forest

I'm an hour in. I can't stop watching. I don't want this to end. What an amazing edit. Great job.
@@JasonMichael13 Thank you, I appreciate it!
I want to build a small overland trailer and do it in my Side by Side.
Man dude you definitely need a winch or travel with a friend or two that situation in the mud hole could have been a disaster. I dont have a winch on my rig at the moment but i always wheel with at least one friend that does and its helped me out for sure.
I almost died in the Dry Fork crossing in my 85 Bronco. Back in 1987.
I am in the upstate, can anyone tell me where those flatlands and farmlands are that he drove through at about 37 minutes
@@adrianl1013 80% of the state is that...
Very cool! I've lived in Moncks Corner all my life, it's 25 miles west of Jamestown, and NEVER knew this route existed 😂😂😂. I've driven thru those woods many times as a kid.
I was up there in Oct. Had a great time!
Definitely need to check out this route. Reddish Knob is paved because President Clinton went there for some National Forest celebration.
It's interesting watching someone make a weeklong adventure out of something I drive through everyday and have been for 30 years. Great video though.
Lowcountry or no country! 😊
You do realize you made that Chevy's dude day right?? He is still telling everyone about the day he had to pull the Yota out! And you let them get proof on film too.
@@Lunacy0315 he earned it!
The only acceptable time of year to be in the woods in SC is winter time when the temps are at least decent and the bugs are back in hell where they belong. Any other season is just hot nasty garbage.
