Huge thank you to everyone who supported us through this tricky situation. Thank you to the town of La Cruz, to Max and Karen, Mike and Kat, Big Bro Jon, and anyone else who had a hand (or call) in sorting these matters to keep wind in our sails! Excited to share the next part of the story with you. Coming soon!
Wow- stunning job on the rebuild. Such a clean engine and space. . Wish ours was close to that clean and fresh. We spend a couple months in La Cruz putting a new rig on and welding a repair on a bowsprit. Such a great place to be stuck doing boat work.
Good work on the engine. I felt your pain when you could not get it started. I have been there through a total rebuild with a NO restart for some stupid simple reason. Just keep checking everything until it starts. Good job.
I've been to Baja numerous times in my 73 VW bus and whenever I've had a mechanical issue it's always some guy in a backyard that fixes it for next to nothing. They're not a throwaway country so they keep those old machines functioning for a long time. I had an electrical issue once in San Felipe and was sent to see this guy. No garage or shop, just him and his kid with a multi-meter. An hour later he had found a loose wire grounding out on the cigarette lighter. Charged me $12. I paid him $30 and he protested that it was too much. And as always, great cinematography and editing. You're one of my favorite sailing channels.
Congrats, That is so cool PV had a guy to rebuild. Hope your sailing and not responding to comments. 😂. I know your frustration. I have a rebuilt Fuel Injection pump that started to leak. Only rebuilt 1.5 years ago. Anyway. It is back out for another repair…. I do have a question when you get internet…. How much did Trans Atlantic Charge for a Fuel Injection pump. I am about to write them to try and get one…. Thanks in advance for any advice. I am really hoping to get out of here in July and head South. Thanks SV Avocet….
Probably be a good idea to keep spare parts so you can rebuild that fuel pump not that complicated just have tight tolerances. At least you're underway again... (っ^▿^)۶🍸🌟🍺٩(˘◡˘ )
We have always heard and have come to understand that the HPFP is sort of pandoras box when it comes to mechanisms. We talked about this a few videos back

I can only imagine the frustration level you endured?? That shit drives my batshit!!!
So. Much. FRUSTRATION!!!
Yahoo! My high pressure pump drove me nuts. I had problems with it for three years. You guys did way better than me! Just happy you got it fixed.
Agh! Those pesky pumps!
Pride from challenges met, and strength from adversity. Well done you two. Thanks for sharing, brought me back to our boat with renewed ambition.
So glad to hear it, anything is possible with the right combination of determination and support!
Lovely video ❤❤❤

Have your old leaky injection pump overhauled for a spare.
The old one is the one we reinstalled. It was the one that was rebuilt. The incorrect one was returned to the company
