    If it stalls again try a new denso front O2 sensor. I had stalling issues in the past during closed loop operation (idling/ part throttle.) Ran fine during warm up and WOT. Never gave me an O2 code. Graph looked normal from scan gauge and O2 sensor passed FSM resistance checks. I changed it anyway because it appeared to be the original sensor and it completely fixed the stalling. They are cheap on amazon.

    i had a random misfire on cylinder 6 on mine and i was worried it was an early sign of head gasket. pulled the distributor and saw that it had signs of arcing on the surface around. after replacing it with a new distributor cap and rotor it has been giving zero issues.

    Hey Mikey! A very informative video and I enjoyed it, too. It's great that you returned safely home.
    Perhaps a new PCM as a spare part may be a sound idea?? I keep a large amount of spare parts for
    the 4Runner. I won't bore you with the list, but it's a $$ sizable investment. Given the logistical issues and
    rising prices on parts.. You get the idea. Good luck on your new digs! Cheers, Mate.

    The only problem with those particular adjustable links is the location of the adjustment screw. It seems like one good bounce on a “slick rock” would snap the screw at the threads. The threads might act like an engineered sheer point.

    Nice Pics of the North Fork American. You have to visit when it’s raining and those side creeks and river are running high. It was super high New Year’s Day at the confluence. If that is your new location, there are many Landcruiser used and new parts, very experienced mechanics and fab shops near you. WFO, 4x4labs, Stellar Built, Dissent, Valley Hybrids (alittle further but worth it. And a local TLCA chapter. Take care.

    Igniter, coil, and generally the ignition system old or new is best and highly recommended to go OE. As Michael stated aftermarket ignition modules are terrible and sometimes bad out of the box.
    They did the right thing with heat testing and wiggle test, unfortunately not doing it at the shop.. it happens to us all the time.

    Congrats on the move out of the bay area. It's getting real ghetto there in some places. Being closer to the mountains must be refreshing, the Sierra's is one of my favorite places to be in. I've seen those OEM ignition control modules for $500 online. Aftermarket ones can be as low as $35 but sounds offly risky

    I kept having issues with my rig (07 Xterra) with starting. It would get slower and slower over time. Thinking it was a starter so I ordered a new one. Turned out.... the cheap battery terminal kept losing connection. Key advice.... buy a quality battery and terminals. Not the cheap stuff.

  • @keniaflores8881
    @keniaflores8881 Год назад

    So the upper control arms on my 21' jeep ecodiesel were more bent than that, in the shape of a banana. Luckily that was the only major thing. Lowers are ok and axle fine. We cannot figure out how it could have bent the way it did when we don't even wheel that much or that hard. Dealer doesn't either and it wasn't warrantied.

      Still matte in the center. Probably too dirty to see :)

  • @erikschutzman2402
    @erikschutzman2402 Год назад +1

    I am guessing it has to do with air flow to the engine or exhaust, maybe a leak in the intake manifold or EGR(if there is an EGR), or a bad sensor and it is affected by the temperature.

    • @erikschutzman2402
      @erikschutzman2402 Год назад

      Oh never mind, I guess something related to the spark makes more sense because the engine is stalling, and an air leak would just cause it to misfire and run poorly probably.

    lithium under the hood is often not the best idea. While lead acid batteries can not handle cold weather, lithiums are the opposite. They can handle cold weather reasonably (they will not charge below a certain temp, but there are batteries that have an internal heater to allow them to be charged in cold weather), but hot weather will kill them. so the heat of the sun beating down on your hood, and especially the heat of the engine compartment are at minimum bad for the longevity of your battery. In a bed box, or inside the vehicle are a better mounting solution for lithiums. Personally I am fond of AGM or Gel under the hood as a starter battery, and lithium for a house battery mounted in the bed of my truck (I have a bed cap, so I could mount them in a battery box attached to the bed, but I prefer a bed drawer system with battery mounts forward of the wheel wells for my truck... well once electrical upgrades are in the budget... a couple projects ahead of that on my list yet.)
    But like Mike said... You need to look at your individual vehicle and your power needs.
