Controlled the stage, managing his efforts and put some more time on vingegard.
It's great to see remco growing like this, i still don't think he'll beat vingegard but he is puting all the work to do so.

This is really where we can see that Jonas's crash, which left him unable to prepare properly for the tour, is making a difference. When you are racing something as extreme as the Tour de France you have to peak 110% for those 3 weeks. Preparation for this is crucial. He'll be back next year unless he has another major spill right before The Tour of 2025. Congrats to Poggi.

The fact that Jonas hung with Pogacar for so long in this tour is really impressive. Pogacar is clearly better but I think for the sake of nullifying any doubters he really needs to keep expanding on his lead over the last few stages otherwise people could say “if Jonas was healthy” or “if Jonas was able to properly prepare..”

    Jonas, is fading.
The injury which resulted in basically zero racing preparation is finally taking its toll.
You could not win the Tour solely on training.
You must participate in actual competitive bike races.
    Jonas has never peaked.
He is not at his peaked form.
    Pogacar is.
Similarly, Remco's injury is never as bad as Jonas.
Jonas had broken bones and a punctured lung.
That is why, Bernard Hinault, made the insightful comment that if Jonas wins this year's Tour, "it would defy expectations."
