    I just found your channel and have subscribed. Thank you for showing us easy easy dying. I love primitive Stitching and every time I watch Floss Tube‘s theyvmake dying process so confusing and so many steps and so on. For some reason, I never thought to dye after I stitch. I always tried to dye before I started Stitching and it makes so much sense to do it after. So thank you so much for that. So since it’s a rainy day here in Savannah, Georgia, I am going to take some time and watch some of your previous and newer videos.

      I strive for simple! And I like to dye my projects after stitching because I like to make the whole thing look primitive. Just make sure your thread is colorfast. I've never had any trouble with DMC. Thank you for watching us!

    Your box looks great! One thing to think about, is since you used ModPodge, wouldn't it melt in the camper when it's super hot in the summer? My camper gets over 100 degrees in the summer, when it's in storage. I wouldn't want you to open the box and find a sticky mess.
    I did a wooden box for my punch needle supplies, but it has turned into a junk box! LOL I'll have to show it on my flosstube.
    Rusty crusty is a good thing on crafts Drew, but I wouldn't want it on my car. :)
    You've got a bunch of new subscribers! We'll have to do another live stream in a few weeks. Probably when I get back from PA.

      I hadn't thought of that Doreen. And I will definitely keep an eye out. Those campers do get hot in the summer. I probably won't be able to keep them in the camper. I'll have to pack them along with my project bags. Thanks for thinking of that!
      These will probably turn into junk boxes too. That never fails to happen around here. I would love to see your wooden box. I've been on the lookout for something like that that is long enough to store the needle threaders in!
      Yes, please, lets do another live stream! Have a great trip!

    Hi. Thank you very much for sharing your dyeing technique. I followed your instructions for dyeing one of my finished pieces. Actually it is the "Dough Bowls" one that you designed. I let it dry for two days and then I went to my iron to press it. That worked out fine. But then I went to steam press some interfacing, the steam caused the dye to run. I guess I shouldn't be surprised because it is water, but I was wondering if perhaps I shouldn't use sizing. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you.

    • @AsberysEchoesStitches
      @AsberysEchoesStitches  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes - the coffee dye isn't a permanent dye and if it gets wet it will run. I rarely iron and I've never used interfacing. You could try rinsing it out and letting it dry and see how it looks. You could also try redyeing after you rinse. It will be a different look than what you had but I'm guessing it will look really prim. I mentioned on my last video with my Quiet Life stitch I had left it out on the dining room table and Drew had been using a straw and sprayed some water so that stitch has some water spots. I just left it like that. I have gotten so many comments on the dye job on that one. People don't realize it was a mistake. It just looks more prim!

      I use the Nate Berkus Upholstery Fabric 54" Flaxen Old Country Linen. It looks like it's in stock on line and on sale for $37.49 a yard. It's pricey but you do get a 54" piece of fabric so you get a lot. It is upholstery fabric but it works great for stitching!
