Here's a throwback from a simpler time: in this video we show the culmination of our Toyota Camry build from 2019.

I am impressed with how much more sophisticated the engineering and fabrication has become on this channel. A lot of the older vids (while still very entertaining) are basically just welding stuff together but things like the lada inline 6 and this really take some creative problem solving and precision machining.
You need to go back further if uou wanna see some of their really sophisticated stuff. They made a car with legs. Many people have put a 2nd motor in a car.
This in a somewhat older video, was on the russian channel in 2019.
I'm often surprised at how well stuff works with the lack of precision, it's amazing. That's not to say their work is bad or anything, it's just I'd expect heaps more precision to make stuff work, and .... it seems I'm way wrong!
Shut up bro. We're car people united by car stuff. Let us have our entertainment and go ride the bus.

I'm so damn glad RUclips didn't take down this channel, we Americans love Vlad, or atleast I do! It's such a breath of fresh air to see a garage fabricating outside the box without getting something off the shelf or using something common people can't afford, i also love seeing the Russian cars like the Lada, never knew they existed, just goes to show the all the barriers there are that will hopefully end some day!!! I would love to meet Vlad and his team someday soon, maybe even be able to work on one of his projects, until then be safe brothers!!!
seeing this channel makes me see we all have more in common than not. Cars, ladies and good time with the boys. I pray for a quick resolution in the war so we can continue enjoying these videos.

Yeah sanctions in Russia affect the people not Putin. Putin can still eat McDonald's and whatever he wants while just locking up whoever protests. Sanctions other than economic are not the way to go.

This build is from 2019, it seems they have plenty in the content archives that was never released with english translations.
Of course the people in Russia have nothing to do with the stuff that that derailed dictator president is doing.. The normal humans are all just friendly normal humans.
I think both engines should always run. Even if you use one engine for propelling car, other engine should still run on idle because without running engine there is no oil circulating in automatic transmission because AT oil pump is powered by engine, not by wheels. Spinning automatic transmission in neutral without running engine for long distance will damage gearbox of unused engine.

But there is one problem, aren't the throttles connected together? If so then the neutral engine will redline constantly without load.
@@thexnut3582 This engines use cable operated throttle flap and they are linked together, but same way how they solved independent electronic servo mechanism for shifting mechanism, they can solve problem with throttle.
It's not like the car is going to be a daily driver or road trip car. They're just having fun and know already.

Needs a burnout mode (the ability to put the rear engine in reverse while the front engine is in drive)

Man I thought they were gonna crab-walk that car all the way back to the shop! IN the future you should experiment with rear-wheel steering on this rig, like the Quadrasteer pickups.

One engine in drive and the other engine in reverse would make for a neat experiment on another video along with creating dual steering. I would bet it has incredible traction in the snow.

Sounds like that rear engine isn't shifting in sync with the front engine but otherwise that's awesome!!
I would rather they didn't. It might make the shifts less noticeable with one engine pulling through the other one's shift.

There once was a company in California, I think, That you could order a special built Cadillac Eldorado from. The Eldorado was a front-wheel-drive car. When you got the car you got a 98 Eldorado Touring Coupe with a slight twist... Well, you know how the NorthStar V8 was a thing? They called their setup the "TwinStar". Yep. Two Powertrains. One front, One rear. All wheel drive, 16 cylinders. But from the outside, it looked stock. This reminded me of that.
Those were cool. Too bad they chose a car with a super unreliable engine to double up
@@isaactrockman4417 Yep. Shitty casting and ill-fitting head gaskets, along with sup-optimum head bolt arrangements and the differences in thermal expansion between the aluminum heads & blocks and the hardened steel bolts.
All boils down to poor metallurgy and iffy assembly in the end.
As someone learning Russian I would love to be able to see these videos the other way round, ie: Russian dialogue with English subtitles.
That is an insane project. I have a feeling this will be a popular mod on RUclips in 5 years. Just random builders doing it with two LS1 or 2jz
garage 54 takes Russia's most creative and intuitive citizens and ensures they don't waste time on useless war machines, a win from me.

Suzuki were racing twin engined cars on Pike's Peak if memory serves.
Basically it's an sw20 mr2 with a 3vz swap bolted to a camry, with a 3vz.

So you are using two V6 engines. That's awesome. I always wanted to make a VW Golf with diesel engine in the front and another high performance engine on the back.
But it hurts fuel efficiency a bit. Still it would be awesome. Great job Vlad.

This would make a sick sleeper, mess with the intakes add some turbos ... Plus 4 wheel drive all time...also strip most of the unnecessary weight while trying to keep the exterior stock as possible 👍

Automatic transmissions generally dont like being flat towed without fluid circulating. When one engine is shut off and the transmission is in neutral....I see a transmission getting eaten up in no time.
ahhhh, but if the other engine is idling then there's oil circulating in the transmission.

You'd need to go faster than 30 mph-ish tho to spin the converter, wouldn't you?
@@ComicusFreemanius what? No. The engine spins the torque converter. The torque converter then spins the ATF pump.

Interesting video resolution. I like it. Unsure how much you know about the current situation, but I hope all the normal everyday civilians stay safe and are taken care of when things start to get tough for them. A country is nothing without its' people. Its' people are its identity.
can't pull 1 or the other trans without the engines running. the trans is still creating pressure and you need the trans pump spinning to keep the pressure in check, same reason your not suppose to flat tow an auto vehicle too fast or too long, the trans and torque converter don't like it.
Agreed. I was curious too, when they went on just the rear engine, they would lose power steering up front. I think it is supposed to go into neutral if the engine is not selected on their 3 way switch.
I have very similar flip flops to Vlad, you buy them in the Russian Spa places because you're not allowed to be barefoot and then cost around 300 rubles. I wear mine in the garage too and they are covered in paint.
