He's just fun. The only Tank where a meta around him doesn't actively feel miserable. His personality also helps a bunch. His playerbase is unfortunately a mixed bag though. Either the most fun player in the lobby or super toxic and whiny with no in-betweens.

He’s just honest , a true no-bullshit guy , if he plays bad he dies ,if he doesn’t get help , he dies but if he plays well , he dominates , if he gets help he’s unstoppable , very strong strengths and very clear weaknesses

yes there are people who hate him like me when i play him i try to pin someone and it boops him even if that person is in front of me or when i play against him at 2 miles from him an the charge succ inside harder than a turbine succ heroes with capes.
This is something people have complained about since release and is still the same lol. The general rule is left side succ, right side boop, but even this isn't always consistent.

In overwatch 1 he was alright since you had your other tank to combo with which made it fun. Now he's just an orisa that can't shoot while being invincible thanks to armour being way over tuned now. Most of the reason dva is as annoying as she is, is due to the 300+ armor

rein can have all the damage in the world, but there still be ways around it. Unless blizzard will give him Fortify like orisa’s, he will always be good designed hero(in a game where every other character is broken AF)
I didn't glaze that hard (except for 'nobody' of course being an exaggeration). Although when I was perhaps overly positive it was because I wanted to make a positive hero history considering all the other ones I have made being more negative. And if there was one hero to make a positive one about, I thought Rein was at the top of the list. Obviously no hero will be liked or hated by every single player, but overarchingly, and comparatively to other heroes, Rein is easily one of the most liked heroes as a whole, or at least has been throughout the game's history

You're just not preparing for the shatter and complaining when the incredibly telegraphed Ultimate occurs, which is a skill issue. Reinhardt is also one of the most fun tanks in the game. Fair enough, I also suck with doom and especially ball. Rein is one of my better heroes but I for example wouldn't say I'm great with Mauga so it is what it is. All we can do is accept it or try to improve.

I hate fighting Rein. They just keep buffing him. With how busted armor is right now, it feels super hard to kill him if you aren't a barrier break comp and he isn't the kind of tank you can just get past to target the healers keeping him up. Unless you are one of the permanently good dive tanks, of course.
I think part of the reason he's popular is because of all the tanks, he has the least BS. No rocks, hooks, bubble spears, D.va in general (fuck you dive). He has a hammer, shield, charge, and firestrike. You know what's coming so stand back or get killed.
To be fair, what made GOATS meta was the AOE healing from Lucio/Brig (and Moira at one point), Zarya doing a million damage from all the charge, Zen helping with melting Tanks with Discord, and being able to run over non-GOATS teams with speed boost. The only reason Rein was part of that meta was because of his cleave and how easy it was to shatter the enemy team (farm shatter in like 30s, wait for their Brig to stun the enemy Rein, and boom). In all honesty, no single character was the issue, not even Brig. It was the fact that they all synergized stupidly well and made killing someone a nightmare in coordinated scenarios (especially because three players are walking walls and the other two/three have pretty good sustain + peel).

Most of the player base are hard stuck man babies plat and below who constantly blame others and don't look at their own asinine plays. And even then, diamond, masters, and GM players all do it too. If at least to a lesser extent from my experience. It's annoying. You see people stat board checking, soft throwing when they are one tricking, playing for the first time in that day/week/month and going straight into comp, holding w as soon as they spawn and don't even run forward with the idea of backing up a team mate already in their more than winnable battle if they were to get back up, getting drunk/high and playing, get tilted way to easy with no way of overcoming their OWN SELF...... it's all so frustrating to see from the player base. They need nerfs, rather than playing better. The game should be balanced around high SR play, bring back LFGs (WHICH WAS DUMB TO REMOVE IN THE FIRST PLACE! WHY NOT ALLOW THE PEOPLE WHO ARE TRYING TO GET A CERTAIN VIBE TO PLAY WITH PEOPLE WHO SHARE THAT? From the super competitive teams, to the vibe teams, to the throw teams.... At least you had groups of people using mics, and allowing new players to meet new players who share their likes and all that), and bring back the second tank! Removing a tank puts too much pressure on the remaining tank that typically is dealing with at least 2-3 people a game counter swapping to attack them. Which I don't personally mind, get better. But it's still annoying that is the mindset the community has. The crap players will either feast or famine in the lower ranks and the game will be in a better place when people eventually grow as a community. The game should be challenging. We are holding the hands of casual players and not expecting player base to get better or handle that L.....

@@maxchess6734Rein's hitbox gets shifted in pin. The left side will usually vacuum people in, the right side boops people away.
