- How much horsepower & torque does the KTUNER Stage 2 off the shelf (OTS) base map make on an otherwise stock 2019 Honda Accord 2.0? How much horsepower and torque can you gain from simply adding the KTUNER stage 2 ECU tune base map - let's find out! We put our 10th Gen Honda Accord - a 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring project car on a DYNOJET dyno to compare our baseline dyno numbers (using 91 octane) to the KTUNER ECU tune to find out if KTUNER's performance claims are accurate. We'll routinely dyno test our 2019 Honda Accord 2.0 Touring as we embark on our Honda Accord's modification journey - next up, a custom ECU tune, or the Phearable Stage 3 ECU tune, you can help decide...

Can’t wait for the intake series with the stage 2! I have the PRL HVI as well. Would love to see it
I’m very curious to see if there are any additional benefits with the tune as well 🤔
This is great man. There isn’t much actual data aside from Ktuner themselves on power gains with a stock car on OTS. 278whp is great for just a flash
I was very happy with the results as well 😁👍
@@TheLemonFactor makes me almost wanna flash back to it and call it good. I flashed back to stock once prices of fuel skyrocketed here. I was on phearable stage 3 before. It was smooth but I still feel it pushes too much boost for stock turbo
That must have been difficult to do - going back to stock 😔
Just installed a PRL intercooler and charge pipes and wow! It really woke up the car with the stage 2 tune. Very beneficial for this CA heat.
You’ll definitely notice the benefit of a more efficient intercooler during those hot days ☀️
I would like to see the Phearable Stage 3 tune with the PRL stage 1 air intake. People at the forums claim this combination, intake and tune, it's what giving them the best performance
Any of those people have any dyno graphs 😉. If not, I guess I’ll have to move the the Phearable Stage 3 next 🤷♂️
@@TheLemonFactor You are the man!!, thank you for what you do.
Thanks for your support 👍
Hello greetings from Ghana, West Africa. Love love your content. I recently got the phearable stage 3 and I would like to know the bhp it is pushing
@@TheLemonFactor yes we need more on phereable stage 3 testing !
Combining the intake with the tune is exactly what I've been waiting for
Definitely a popular request 👍
Another home run with this video! I’ve been so curious to see real world dyno numbers from a OTS Stage 2 tune. I’m sold! Really looking forward to the intake/tune combo. I’m 99% sold on the Mishimoto intake, so I’d love to see that tested with the Stage 2 tune. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the watch, and taking the time to leave a positive comment 👍😁.
First time watching your videos and coincidentally all the tests you are running with the air intakes tested and the tuner are things I we’re looking at. So thank you!
I know it helps to hear feedback. I believe a test with the tuner and intake would be a great video. Perhaps you can do the mishimoto. Or even a separate video comparing the 2 intakes with the tune.
That’s great! I’m glad you’ve found the video’s informative 👍. I do plan on testing one of the air intakes with the tune 😉
Yes please, I can’t wait to see the results. Thank you sir. 😎
Thank you for the support and watch 👍
Awesome video! Thanks for taking that recommendation on testing the air intakes combined with the tune! Can’t wait to see what you do
Just trying to support the Honda Accord community the best I can 👍😁
You have a good Honda channel! Keep it!
Thank you! I appreciate the support.
We sent email to you, please check.
Thank you for including the k.con numbers for 91 octane. Always have been wondering how the stage 2 tune would affect knock if it would it creep up or relatively stay the same under normal driving. It would be interesting to see the k.cons for other tunes as well as other mods. Excellent video keep it up!
Also I think it might be interesting just as an experiment to see if octane boosters work, assuming that it is safe for the engine/fuel system. The experiment could go like this: 1. Full tank of 87 fuel record k.con up to half tank, then add octane booster fuel up to full tank and record k.con up to half tank.
Thank you, Edward! Appreciate your continued support. 😁👍. Although I had a K.con of 0.48-0.50, it did creep up during some of the dyno pulls (but not all), reaching 0.55.
@@TheLemonFactor Appreciate your response Chad. would it be correct to assume that the k.con was rising due to heat soak during the dyno pulls? Also would suggest tracking IC temps before an after runs along with corresponding k.con could get insight to how many runs one can do before heat soak affected the car. This data would also be useful if you decide to change the IC to an aftermarket like PRL IC.
Heat soak did not become an issue as I waited as long as was necessary (usually less than 10 minutes) in between dyno pulls for both my IAT and ECT to drop back to a steady state, which was consistent with each run. As I did datalog the pulls I do have the data regarding the temps throughout each pull. 👍
Appreciate another informative video! I’d like to see the PRL HVI on the dyno especially with the claims of hp and torque gains.
I have dyno tested the PRL HVI - check it out! Maybe you mean testing it in conjunction with the KTuner tune?
Great video as always. Chad did you check/tick anything in quick enables and quick adjustments when you uploaded stage 2 on your car?
Thank you, Jeremiah! I'm glad you liked the video. Great question. I'm surprised I wasn't asked this earlier. Yes, I did check several of the "quick enables" within KTuner. Exactly which ones, and what I changed them to, I don't recall off the top of my head, but I made changes for quicker turbo spool up, throttle response, etc.
I wonder if an intercooler with the K-Tune is just as effective as an intake and K-Tune, might produce great results also?
I believe a more efficient intercooler is a better mod than an air intake - if I had to pick one over the other 🤷♂️
might be a dumb question but can you drive the car tune or untuned on command? Thanks for your terrific vids
You cannot switch between tunes, “on command”. Your car needs to be on with engine off while you flash the tune which takes several minutes. However, KTuner does offer a dual tune that provides different boost targets for normal vs Eco mode.
can’t wait for the intake dyno with tune
👍
Great analysis, thank you!
👍😁
You should try adding the Cvic Type R inlet Pipe to go along with which ever intake system you use before the your next Dyno. I would love to see that.
🤔
Can't wait for the next video!
Thanks 😁
Awesome
Yes please put back on PRL intake to see additional gains with this
😉👍
I’m new to all of this. I’m a little confused about your video from a year ago when you tested the ktuner and got minimal results. Is this the same tune from that video? How did you get much more power this time? Forgive my limited knowledge here, just need clarification. Thank you!
Quite alright and understandable. I'm surprised more people haven't asked. The difference can be contributed (at lease in part) because we moved from one dyno to another (although same dyno type, still different dyno), we went from sea-level, to ~5,600 ft above sea-level (while the dyno adjusts to standardized the numbers, it still may be a small contributing factor), we went from 93 octane to 91 octane, and what I think may have bigger impact is that the car is now well broken in and in a mileage range that you'd typically see your engine perform its strongest. With all that said, these are only my theories, in the end who knows EXACTLY why?!? Thanks for watching.
What’s the difference between this and the other ktuner stage 2 video you made? Just curious
One is at sea level on 93 octane and this one is 91 octane at 5,600ft. Same type of dyno, but different dynos. Potential (although small) a more “broken-in” engine.
@@TheLemonFactor so you do you feel that above sea level is more powerful?
I know a few people that say that they lost power above sea level.
I’m on a phearable stage 3 tune and for a ktuner to give those numbers, it’s really really impressive
No, I don’t believe at high altitude is more powerful, I was simply identifying the differences. At higher altitude there is less oxygen, which reduces hp in cars. However, the dyno does have the ability to “correct” the numbers based on altitude and other environmental conditions in order for comparisons to be made.
Thanks Chad, I almost asked the same question wondering what is the difference between the other video you posted before. Keep up the good work!
Thank you 👍
Heck yeah I wanna see brother!! 👀 let's gooo baby
👍
Hi! Love the videos. I’m curious if you have also run into the dashboard Xmas tree effect where all the dash lights come on and if you’ve found a solution. I’m running a custom tune using Ktuner and it’s an ongoing problem for me.
Thank you, Rudy! Yes, every time you upload a new tune to the car, you should see the Xmas tree effect. Once I drive the car a short distance (less than .5 miles), turn off the car, then turn it back on, all the lights clear. 👍
I think intakes after tune sounds like a great idea. Maybe even throw in a short ram style (K&N, injen, HPS) and see how one of those stacks up against the PRL and Mishimoto on the Dyno after tune. I went from KTuner's stage 2 to now a custom tune and the car feels like a little rocket!
I’m sure the custom tune makes the power delivery all that much smoother.
Put it on the dyno with a k&n intake lol. Just get an FK8 turbo, or a Mitsubishi stage 2 turbo. And Flex fuel sensor from prl
Why do you thinks the Stage 2 performance is so much better on 91 octane in Colorado than 93 octane in Boston? It's huge! Those tq numbers are Phearable Stage 3 numbers! Are the dynos the same?
I have my theory, but nothing concrete (yet). The type of dyno is the same.
Will you be doing dyno testing on each part? Intake, downpipe, front pipe? With the tune?
That’s the plan 👍. Don’t forget to subscribe so you don’t miss them 😉
How are these magically higher than the Phearable stage 3 dyno video you did? Stage 3 dynoed at 267 wheel and 350 torque. Is it the fuel difference? I’m missing something here.
We’ll be dynoing the Phearable stage 3 soon at our new location (moved across country) so we have a proper comparison between the two.
Yo awesome video keep up the great work can we get a comparison of
FBO accord 2.0t 10s stage 2 ktuner
FBO accord 2.0t 10s phearable stage 3
Not sure which one i want to do this summer for my accord
Thank you, Denzel! Yes, I do plan on comparing the KTuner Stage 2 to the Phearable Stage 3 👍
@@TheLemonFactor sounds great I’ll be looking forward to it!!
👍
Good stuff dude
Thank you. Very much appreciated 😁👍
YESSIRR THATS WASSUP,also after tht plz do the stage3 from phearable on 91
What do you predict the additional gains from the Phearable would be?
@@TheLemonFactor i would say around 290whp on 93 if too much then 305whp. Phearable also have the 91 octane tune available and according to them its 280 instead of 315 on 93 tune which seems like too big a difference.
That would be nice 👍. I’m guessing maybe an additional 10 WHP and maybe 15 FT-LBS of torque 🤷♂️
@@TheLemonFactor yessir, im planning to for the phearable straight instead of stage 2
Can't wait to see how the intake with the tune turns out. How are you enjoying the additional power so far?
The power feels great! Having so much more torque down low in the RPMs makes for some fun driving 😁👍
@@TheLemonFactor I bet! Keep the blue and red out your rear view 😂
😬👍😁
Definitely wanna see a vid with the intake
You got it 👍
ohh yeah! PRL next.. then FMIC, then exhaust!!
It’s like you’re reading my mind 😉😁
I would love to see that dyno with the intakes! Got a stage 2 and intake as well, would love to see if it’s any benefit
What intake do you have?
@@TheLemonFactor Mishimoto!
I liked that one 👍
@@TheLemonFactor Same as well, easier to service compared to when I was researching the PRL ones
I have prl HVI and down pipe and front pipe. Also have phearable stage 3 tune in love with the set up trying to set up a dyno run to see exactly where I am with hp and tq
If you do dyno your car, please let me know what your results are, as it would be great to have as another reference. 👍
@The Lemon Factor! LLC I will you always put out great videos I think you were the reason I went with the prl HVI lol I'm gonna record it when I go to the dyno
Thank you! Appreciate the positive comment. Has the downpipe and front pipe made it much louder?
@The Lemon Factor! LLC louder on cold starts, still have the stock I hear more in the car the the intake isn't that loud, but after the down pipe and front pipe it's more responses and pulls alot harder on top I gotta make videos and post them
At some point, I’ll be installing the downpipe… 😁
I'm def gonna pick up a ktuner
😁👍
I just bought a ktuner for my accord I’m so cited to get it on
My 2021 Honda Accord sport 2.0 I have everything stock besides the k&n air filter with stage 2 ktuned can u do a video to see the difference hp and torque gains? Between the oem filter and the k&n filter?
I do plan on retesting with an air intake, but it will most likely be the PRL HVI, or the Mishimoto. 🤷♂️
Well I’m subscribed to your channel so can’t wait for the new video u post so I know what to do next to gain any additional HP or torque by your videos! Hopefully to see your new video soon!!
Thanks for the sub! Appreciate the support.
Hey I have a ‘19 2.0 as well and just got ktuner. What would you say difference is between stage 2 and Stage 2.0 dual tune?
Good question. I’ve only used the Stage 2 tune 🤷♂️
Dual 2.0 tune is just stock boost levels in eco and then stage 2 everywhere else. Stage 2.1 is stage 1 boost targets in eco and stage 2 in normal and sport.
So how much faster does it make the 0-60 and how much MPG penalty is there?
Hey chad where did you buy your engine cover.. I can’t seem to find it
I believe I purchased it from either College Hills Honda, or Honda Automotive Parts.
Thanks chad I will try them out.. hopefully I can get one
which is better stage 2.0 or 2.1? and which one you have on that video?
This is Stage 2! The only difference with Stage 2.1 is that it gives you Stage 1 when in ECO mode.
@@TheLemonFactor which one will you recommend for bone stock
Try both and see which one you like 👍. You don’t need any supporting mods to run either of these tunes.
@@TheLemonFactor thank you and im bone stock and just wondering what should i monitor on my v2 screen?
Hey! Just install the ktunner and I didn’t felt that much big of difference 🥲 the car is stock btw! Thoughts?
What tune did you download to the KTuner then upload to your car? How did the upload process go? Did the dash light up like a Xmas tree after the upload, and did you drive if briefly to clear the lights?
@@TheLemonFactor I downloaded the stage 2 dual target 1… went to quick enables, marked the VSA control box, the early spoon and disabled throttle dampening! Also put the agressive throttle response and turno responsiveness 1! That’s it, traction control off!
@@TheLemonFactor yes the dash light up like xmas after and then i drove it for 5 mins and then everything to normal
👍
can you make a vid of the stage 3 phearable dyno run
👍
Can someone please tell what’s the stock Wheel horsepower is on this accord??? There is multiple previous videos on the lemon factor that says the wheel horsepower of this is accord is 238 and than some other videos it says it’s 248. So which one is it?
Checkout the video released today. It has the comparison to our baseline stock WHP. There are two numbers because ~1.5 years ago I moved to Denver from Boston and rebaselined the car.
Did you go through all the settings you did your stage 2 tune?
If you're referring to the quick enables found in the KTuner software, then yes, I did.
@@TheLemonFactor What settings did you use for throttle response and quick enables?
I used the most aggressive settings.
@@TheLemonFactor Again, Great Work and thank you for being so responsive!
I just bought the Stunner v2 today, im going to set it up my self looking at your videos, If I have questions how can I contact you directly? if possible, thanks in advance
Sure. Email me if you have any questions 👍
@@TheLemonFactor hey bro! Do i have to have the ktunner connected to the car at the same time is connected to the computer or no? I first plug it to the computer with the software, download the tune to the ktunner and then connect it to the car and reflash the car right?
You can do either way, but I usually download the tune from the KTuner website to my laptop in doors, once downloaded take just the KTuner outside to the car and plug it in and download, leaving the laptop inside.
@@TheLemonFactor got u! But first i have to connect the ktunner to the car and lock the ktunner and then i connect the ktunner to the computer to download the maps and set it up! After that is when I plug it back to the car to reflash it! Correct?
Yes, you first have to marry your KTuner to your car.

@@TheLemonFactor not at all.😳
Hey! Where can i buy this k tunner? I just bought a honda accord 2.0T 2022 in red 2 weeks ago
Congratulations on your new Honda Accord! You can by various resellers, or even on Amazon - amzn.to/35ZtD0z
@@TheLemonFactor thanks! Just checked the link, seems legit, i have a couple concerns with this reflash on my car because i don’t know if this does affects the car in a way or not? I mean if its safe to
Put this in your car? Because it has warranty and I don’t wanna messed up with it! Thoughts?
If you're concerned about your car's longevity, then a more aggressive tune will put more stress on your car, specifically the turbo and engine. This will void your Honda warranty, but they would need to correlate the problem with the tune, i.e. they can't refuse warranty service for fixing your window motor, because you have a tune on your car. However, anything engine related, even transmission related, I'm sure they'll given you a hard time about. It's your call. Some people wait until their OEM warranty expires before installing any "big" modifications on their car.
