  • Dyno test comparison between the PRL Stage 1 Air Intake System, PRL Panel Air Filter, and the OEM / stock engine air filter! As arguably the most popular aftermarket modification for the 10th Gen (2018+) Honda Accord, we're kicking off a multi-part video series in which we show how to install and air intake, record air intake sound clips, and DYNO test various performance air intakes from PRL, Mishimoto, aFe Takeda, and more, in order to provide you with the information you need to determine which Honda Accord air intake mod is right for YOUR Accord project car! Whether you're looking for performance / horsepower gains, or just to hear the sound of the air being sucked into the turbo / engine, this video will provide you with the information needed to help you decide if a K&N panel air filter, PRL panel air filter, PRL Stage 1 Air Intake System, PRL HVI, AEM air intake system, Mishimoto air intake system, aFe Takeda air intake, Injen air intake, etc is the best air filter intake system modification for your (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022) Honda Accord 2.0 or 1.5 project car.

    Love the video and the REAL data. I just installed the Mishimoto intake on my 21 2.0T Accord. I like the sound and It feels like a little better throttle response but my butt Dyno tells me not much difference on HP / Torque. So why is the torque increase with PRL drop in filter not being talked about? Between the 3 dyno runs with the PRL drop in had 3 to 8 ft/lbs of torque jump. That’s what gives the better throttle response that some in the comments have experienced.

    • @aehmerchant
      @aehmerchant Год назад

      Honestly, the 2.0T really opens up with a Ktuner or Hondata tune than anything else. The high flow filter is better utilized with tune. I have stage 1 PRL and Ktune. Roughly 20 HP increase with 30 ft/lbs. A $600 cost. Not bad at all

    These results don't surprise me. I have a K & N drop in filter on my '21 Accord Touring 2.0T. The only difference I noticed was throttle response was a little better. • @87gn93
      @87gn93 2 года назад

      @@u-know-this Yes, the GN has a ecu. It's a plug in prom chip tuned by Eric Marshall @ Turbo Tweak.
      There are 4 areas of this chip that can be adjusted by the user: WOT Fuel, WOT 1st Gear Fuel, WOT Timing for 1st/2nd gear, and WOT Timing for 3rd/4th gear. You do not have to adjust these, but it offers you a way of fine-tuning the chip for your car or conditions. You will need a scan tool that can display BLM and LV8 to make adjustments. Scanmaster, Turbolink, Directscan, OTC, Powerlogger, etc. will all work fine. I use the Scanmaster. My GN is setup for alcohol injection and you can use methanol or denatured alcohol. I normally run DA and around 25 psi of boost. I can run up to 30 psi of boost with my build. I don't push the turbo (Precision 6152), but I can if needed. I have a Pat's 3400 rpm stall converter, so there is no turbo lag. Tranny is built 200R4 with a shift kit and transmission brake. I can build boost at the line or light and then I'm gone. 0-60 in 3.4 on Beltronics Performance GPS meter.

      Craig, as you said that you've read yourself, CAI do nothing if not decrease power on the ND Miata. Hey Chad, great video but are we really surprise? The manufacturers don't disclose video records of their test. None of them! Thank you for investing time and effort for those demonstration. What manufacturer really test is in fact the air volume (CFM) their filters help to produce and it is done in a lab. Not even bolted on a vehicule :( …there is an exception with Eventuri but you/they need a Tune to maximize performance with the air volume vs fuel ratio to produce more horse power.

      It is 😕. However, I’m hopeful that the Mishimoto, aFe Takeda, or PRL HVI will produce some performance gains 👍

      @@TheLemonFactor Look at the Takeda and you should notice a large ruber plug. I have it on the MX-5. I did not really know what it was until I got in contact with the tech support. It was a plug they removed to improve the CFM of the box during the test.

    I wish there was either no filter or pantyhose comparison as part of the test.

    Looks like aftermarket panel airfilter

      After market panel looks to add maybe 5 ftlb torque to the equation. Best bang so far.

      I wouldn’t focus too much on the TQ readings - with the peak torque coming on so early, and with the irregular spikes happening early on in the RPM a comparison is difficult to make.
