Kinda funny, just got my kit installed yesterday and my flex fuel kit looks completely different. Also got the intercooler on and the pherable stage 4 tune. Car feels amazing and pulls super hard. Cant wait to see numbers on this.
is it true the flex fuel mod just analyzes the e85 content? someone said we don't really need it if you can calculate it yourself and just enable the flex fuel options on the ktuner?
@@WhataTofu nope u still need the flex fuel sensor, it gives your ecu the ability yo adjust to however much e85 content is in your fuel and then u can flash an e85 tune on the ecu which will make way more power, if you dont have the flex fuel kit, you wouldnt make any extra power
The new wifi kit is a lot easier to install with using the OEM hoses. The instructions arent 100% bulletproof on the new kit, but it's intuitive enough. That 2ndary O2 sensor is a pain to get to without removing the intake pipe.
Yessss, can’t wait to see stage 2 vs phearable stage 4 if you ever get the chance! Also, you can also run higher ethanol on stage 2, but the drilled fuel line is required. If you decide to go that route I believe fk8 tuning does the beveled/drilled oem line
The KTUNER Stage 2 tune will adjust to the ethanol content (within limits) if you’ve gone into the tune and enabled it. You don’t need to switch between two tunes 👍
That’s correct. However, I want to point out that a higher ethanol content isn’t always better. If you’re going to use ethanol I’d target 30-35% with the OTS tune.
How long have you been running the flex fuel kit, and have you noticed anything like issues with the pump or fuel lines or issues starting it when its cold?
The hardline against the firewall? It’s a PIA - pinch both sides really hard a twist a quarter turn so that the tabs don’t fall back into the openings. If needed, use a stubby screwdriver to depress on one of the sides while you press with your finger on the other.
@@TheLemonFactor The twisting really helped. Thanks. I recommend that you replace the small hose with a PTFE hose like I just did. They will also deteriorate over time and can damage your fuel pump. Vcd racing and Fk8tuning ( John Pierro) both sell it.
I’m glad it helped 👍. Yes, I’ll be upgrading the small hose as well. However, you can get them so much cheaper elsewhere. Honestly, PRL should really be replacing them as they never should have been sold with the kit 😕
Actually there’s a part 2 and 3 in which we dyno test the KTUNER ethanol tune, then another where we test the Phearable Stage 4 ethanol tune. Checkout the channel page for the videos - it’s amazing how much additional power the ethanol produces 😮😁👍
Is that always happening you Chad of P2183? for a while mines does, specially on cold start but what Im doing is I always clear on Ktuner of the codes.
Are you sure you installed the EGT connector from the Flex Fuel kit properly? Have you gone into KTuner and updated your tune, checking/unchecking the appropriate sensor boxes?
If you’re running an ethanol blend you need to make sure you have the Phearable Stage 4 tune. You should only be running a 30-35% ethanol mixture, no higher on this tune 👍
That's correct, and as mentioned in the video, this is the original version. PRL released a new wi-fi version, which is what you see online. The install should be pretty much the same.
When I did this install I didn’t pull the full pump fuse and I didn’t disconnect the battery. I’m sure it says that’s stuff in the manual but u could skip it really …. The install is straight forward
Wait, so a flex fuel will give you more power??? Well then why is my 2013. Ford f150 so slow? Lol and it uses more flex fuel than gas comparitively. Tge advantage is pay less for fuel
Thanks! Please dont stop doing what you are doing. We all appreciate you Chad!
I really appreciate the support and kind words. Thank you 😁
Been researching for my RDX and came across this channel. Soooo much good info in one place. Thank you Mr Lemon
😁👍

Nice! You probably have the PRL wi-fi version. The one I have is the original PRL Flex Fuel kit.
Very happy to see you getting into some more serious mods! This is gonna be fun.
We’ll continue to provide a broad range of content, but never loosing focus on performance 😉

Coming very soon! We’ll compare the KTUNER tune to the Phearable Stage 4 🤔

We’ll be dyno testing both tunes 👍
Did you figure out how to move it to prevent it from rubbing the metal with the 90 degree elbow?
About to do this today, lets see how big the difference is, got the flex fuel kit with the phearable stage 4
Can’t wait for the power gains on the dyno😎
It is noticeable across the powerband on the street 👍
How would this mod affect my current 40.3mpg 10th gen 1.5t
The use of an ethanol gas blend will certainly help increase power, but it will reduce your gas mileage.
@@TheLemonFactorthank you for the explanation
Noob question: does a separate flex fuel tune need to be run when switching from 93 to E30? Or can a single tune automatically adjust?
The KTUNER Stage 2 tune will adjust to the ethanol content (within limits) if you’ve gone into the tune and enabled it. You don’t need to switch between two tunes 👍
@@TheLemonFactor Oh wow, great to know. So even if I'm not running an E30 blend, the ECU benefits from that data + adjusts to changes in E content?
That’s correct. However, I want to point out that a higher ethanol content isn’t always better. If you’re going to use ethanol I’d target 30-35% with the OTS tune.
Bookmarked.
😉👍
Hi Chad I have same touring 2.0 do you have anu issue of Emssion problem or code P2183 you see on your ktuner error codes?
Upon installation, you do need to go into KTuner and make some sensor adjustments otherwise you’ll get some error codes.
How long have you been running the flex fuel kit, and have you noticed anything like issues with the pump or fuel lines or issues starting it when its cold?
Not too long. However, I haven’t noticed any cold start issues.
Is this fine installing the flex fuel kit and phearable stage 4 on a completely stock accord 2.0t touring?
Yes, you can, but I would recommend an upgraded intercooler.
Yay wanna see vid. Phearable Stage 4?
It’s in the works 😉
Thanks for the video Chad. I'm having a hard time disconnecting the green tab on the small hose. Any suggestions? Thank you.

@@TheLemonFactor Yes; thank you.
Good luck 👍

Who’s they made it for the accord lx 1.5
Did you have to check off any codes?
Hey chad! Is this the new prl flex fuel kit ?!? It came out 6 months ago, so I’m guessing but never know!
This is not the newest one released by PRL. The install will be very similar, if not easier as you’re reusing the OEM fuel lines 👍
This isn’t the up to date Wi-Fi one correct? Is the installation similar for the Wi-Fi one? Prl
This is the original version 👍
@@TheLemonFactor so the Wi-Fi one uses the oem line correct? Shld be a bit easier to install?
@JampMan1982 that’s my understanding, but I’ve not installed one 🤷♂️
Did you disconnect the Radiator fan Chad and that connector it goes to the radiator fan?
If I recall correctly, there are two connections to the radiator, the flex fuel wiring harness does take the place of one of them.
Thank you chad
Is that always happening you Chad of P2183? for a while mines does, specially on cold start but what Im doing is I always clear on Ktuner of the codes.
I’m having a code show up for my ect#2 sensor after the install. Any tips?
Are you sure you installed the EGT connector from the Flex Fuel kit properly? Have you gone into KTuner and updated your tune, checking/unchecking the appropriate sensor boxes?
@@TheLemonFactor i must have missed the ktuner update part. Do you have a time stamp for that?
No I don't. I'd have to go back and watch it myself.
Did the fuel line come with the kit or is it the PTFE flex fuel assembly you can also buy from PRL?
This is the optional upgraded fuel line sold by PRL
Chad, is the upgraded fuel line necessary if I’m going to purchase the wifi version?
You should confirm with PRL, but it appears as though the stock fuel lines are used with the new unit.
Is the ECT2 sensor is located ON the radiator or is it the wire connecting to the radiator?
Checkout 7:37 of the video, it shows exactly where it's located... unplug this and plug the Flex Fuel wire into this.
The prl harness plug into the ect harness not the sensor. I think that's what he wanted to know.
@@TheLemonFactordo you connect that prl connector to the radiator attachment or the line that attaches to the radiator?
If i got the pheareble tune its that ok to put full tank e85 on the tank or just half?
If you’re running an ethanol blend you need to make sure you have the Phearable Stage 4 tune. You should only be running a 30-35% ethanol mixture, no higher on this tune 👍
do you use a higher ethanol % since you are on 91 octane vs 93?
I do not. Both KTUNER and Phearable recommend an ethanol content of between 30 and 35%.
So sad but expected--new Supra picture has replaced Miata picture in intro. 😁😁✔✔
Gone, but certainly not forgotten 🥹
Where did you get the kit from?
I've had good luck purchasing direct from PRL, and from Axion Industries.
Okay thanks. The kit looks different from the one you have.
That's correct, and as mentioned in the video, this is the original version. PRL released a new wi-fi version, which is what you see online. The install should be pretty much the same.
Can you fill the whole tank with E85 after the install?
No, I would not. Both KTuner and Phearable recommend a mixture between 30 and 35%.
Installed mine last week and going thru tuning now with Imwtuned
I'm sure the custom tuning of the flex fuel will unleash much more power. Good luck!
When I did this install I didn’t pull the full pump fuse and I didn’t disconnect the battery. I’m sure it says that’s stuff in the manual but u could skip it really …. The install is straight forward
this is the older flex fuel kit
After installing do you can fill up all e85?
No. Do not fill up on E85. You run an ethanol blend, see 8:37.
Nicee
😁👍

Your f150 is prolly not tuned to give u more powaa on e85, pretty sure u can get it tuned tho if you wanna make more powaa on e85
