In my country adding five D30 fans to the case - to really do jt justice - sends the price into the ludicrous category. Can buy a Lian Li Lancool III, for example, for 40% of the cost. Phanteks is like Gillette, selling you an affordable “razer” to hook you in buying their expensive “blades”. But wait there’s more in the form of a RGB add-on kit, of course also sold separately.
I can tell you that fitting out this case with the newest Corsair AIO/QX FANS/CABLES cost over £600 for just those component but those were what I wanted and was no benefit me getting a case with other pre-installed fans. Actually less hassle as no need to remove them. I had considered the upcoming Lil LanLi Sup01 case shown at Computex but honestly this case with a clean build can look fantastic. I personally love how easy the Corsair fans were to install and the amazing control over the lighting it brings.
Yeah in germany it costs 100€ (black version) and even if you put in good price to performance fans like artic p12 a-rgb (5 fans will cost about 55€) it's 155€ and that's with not so fancy looking fans for a case where you really wanna show a beatiful build. I like those fishtank looking cases (I had an o11 mini), was tempted to get the NV5 but I went for the Lancool 216, it's just way better value 105€ (RGB version) with 3 included fans and big ones at that, integrated fan hub, top of the chart in terms of cooling, general build quality and build experience.
This is a showcase case. This is the kind of case that's going to have an AIO at the very least, and will have custom cables / extensions. Buying this case with two or three stock fans, even if they're RGB, is silly. This case isn't about economics.
A nice review and agree with you that managing to make a case that nice for that price deserves a lot of credit... My biggest question is I have the budget for this but also for the 011 Dynamic Evo. Out of the two which would you say is the better case for quality, aesthetics and overall airflow?
Just regarding the bottom fan filter, I trust you'll need to unscrew and remove the front glass panel in order to be able to pull it from front. Otherwise, it's an excellent case for the price.
Well tell you something, Ballymena man loves your channel. Totally agree with your review about how good this case is. I think they will be relying on people buying the additional components that will be available for this case Just added the Premium Vertical GPU bracket to mine and it helps improve the looks even further, though with that their would not be much point getting the LCD screen. I want to also get the DRGB Kit as think that will finish mine. Oh and btw I went with Corsairs new H150 AIO and iCue Link QX fans that and the new Dominator Titanium RAM, that combined, looks absolutely top notch in this case.
Hi Chris, I am just about to buy a 14900kf and msi rtx 4090 ventus, and I am very stuck on whether nv7 will give me much better cpu and gpu thermals, I want to order the parts by this Thursday, so I will really appreciate your input on that. I did watch your review on the nv7 but you used an amd on the nv5 and intel on the nv7 so i am unsure how comparable are the thermals… Thank you for the great content, you really make the difference!
I'm kinda a beginner at this but every time i look at a build with this case, people use the d30 fans that are advertised for it. So just to be sure, can you add fans other than the d30's? And if so, will the rgb button in the top of the case still work?
A bit late answer but yes you can add any 120mm fans you would like but the rgb button in the case wont work with anything but Phanteks fans. So you need to control any other rgb fans with motherboards aura software.
There is no cheap way to build a case with truly matching RGB fans - especially with side intake. Only a few companies make reverse fans and sizes are limited and some are only sold in 3-packs which is quite annoying. Phanteks does sell a bundle on their direct store which includes a 360mm AIO plus 1 standard and 4 reverse D30 fans. Currently at $400 it is the most cost effective way to build just like in this review.
i got this case with Thermalright Frozen Notte 360 AIO (80€) ,4x Thermalright TL-C12RB-S V2 reverse fans(27€) and 1x Thermalright TL-C12C-S (7€) total about 114€ wich is quite cheap in my opinion.
In every review I've watch on this case, why is the rear case fan rgb oriented differently? Is it not possible to make the rgb fan lines vertical or just laziness?
The same with every fan really: where cable exits the fan. You can check the build video at about 29:40 to see the installation. You can orient it however you want.
I get so mad that companies never give you everything you want. For example, you get this infinity effect on the aio cooler with regular fans, but the crappier version of rgb on the pump with the rgb fans?? Why?
Another polished review, thank you. Alas, several favourable reviews seem to have increased demand, and inflated the price significantly already.
Many thanks!

Good to have choice, but agree a good looking build isn't going to be cheap
I like the size of this case, but love that the IO is on the front bottom of the NV7.
How do you think the new NZXT H6 Flow compares? The NV5 is not so cheap the moment you realize you must buy at least 4 quality fans.
Cases really have leveled up!
really have
@ChristopherFlannigan
So can I install an X670e ATX motherboard in this case? Do I have to buy a third-party GPU bracket?
This last spring I built my dream PC in a TT CTE 750 Air
nice

Did you try AIO as side intake to see how they impacted CPU & GPU thermals?

Didn't think of it like that, but if the case is cheap more money to spend on the flashy stuff
Absolutely brilliant

A front-and-back removable bottom filter is pretty cool. I'm surprised I haven't seen that before
What a beautiful case. And thanks for the helpful review.
My pleasure!
But which is better... This c3 or phantek nv5?
Debating weather to get an h9 flow, 011d evo xl or phanteks nv7
Love the videos!
All exhaust case fans and aio fans intentional? Is this because you’re running an aio cooler?
reminds me of the 4000D airflow, great mid tower case at reasonable price
It is great value for money

Hello Chris, please what case would you recomend for an rtx 4070 amongst the Phanteks NV5, nzxt H5 Flow & Lian Li Lancool 216?
Great review Chris. Well done.
Thanks 👍
Great Build Chris..👍
I'm interested in the thermals of this case vs something like the o11 mini
IS there any push back on the GPU cable against the glass?

Hadn't noticed. I oriented back fan due to cable, will watch this in future with these fans

@@ChristopherFlannigan awesome thank you!!
I rate this review 10/10
Hello Christopher i want to ask that is there coil whine on rog strix 4090
the lian li galahad II trijnity performance fits on the top with some space for cpu cables??
I get so mad that companies never give you everything you want. For example, you get this infinity effect on the aio cooler with regular fans, but the crappier version of rgb on the pump with the rgb fans?? Why?
Can you fit a rx 7900 xt in this case? And the x670 aorus elite ax
Case looks nice
agreed
The ultimate ASMR channel.
Perfect if you like pc building as well
Where is the ARGB controller located?
Why U sound like Jim Browning ❤❤❤
I should have bought this instead of the nv7
GPU cooling should be better in nvv7
