It's effective!! For best results rub the pad surface before opening or open and close pad repeatedly till you see the string of glue so that the glue becomes activated
I faced the same problem...not at effective...I have the Spy cam video and it captured how the mouse went over this almost 3 times but he was never trapped

i bought it for lizard
It is very effective for lizard 🦎. I caught two at a time.. But after catching them felt very bad because neither they come out by this trap themselves once you through them outside nor you can do anything. They die with lots of suffering. So I stopped using them for lizard. In case of rats, after catching them you can put them away from your home and pour some oil on the pad which helps them to come out after sometime. In case of lizard it doesn't work.

@@tarunkalra3924 till now I have not used for Rats but there are few reviews at Amazon which suggest the same which I told earlier. I am still 100% sure that it would not be effective for rats. After making this video I have put one in my garage where rats comes but unable to trap a single rat.
