Preston? Hahah. This is Sergio, the man who sold you the '91 TRX250X about 4 years ago. The moment I saw the thumbnail to this video I recognized my old quad. You know, having sold it is something I will probably regret forever, but seeing how I found a good home for it, knowing it is being treated like the one-of-a-kind treasure it really is, makes me feel a little less terrible. Thanks for the shout out on your video btw!

Owned them all.. In my opinion..
    Best looking- 250r.
    Most dependable- 400ex.
    Most nimble- 250x/300ex.
Most overall fun/capable to ride- 450r.
    Most forgiving/comfortable on trails- 700xx..
    👍👍👍

Very nice! I have to say the 250R was the best looking quad of all times but I prefer a 400EX with Lonestar/Axis suspension. TC cam, Lectron, Lightened flywheel, JE 11:1. Makes a really nice package.

I currently have a 1991 Honda trx250x I’m attempting to restore. Picking up the new plastics for it today and seat. Mine isn’t all original unfortunately it has a full 330 big bore kit on it making it a 286 or 296 I can’t remember but it runs absolutely flawless. First 250x I’ve ever had. Plenty of 300ex and 400ex etc but this thing is really nice and a comfortable machine to scoot around on

Great video. I wasn’t in the market but ran across a 1-owner 1987 TRX250x (this past weekend)in damn near museum worthy condition. I felt obligated to make the 10-hour round trip to buy it. It’s bone stock except for tires. He put some UGGGGGLY over-sized tires on it, but I’m about to fix that. 😄

400ex went through 3 generations 1999-2004 bug eye. 2005 they added reverse and did a restyle kept the body till 2007 and in 2008 the did a style again. 2010-2011 they were not produced and in 2012 they were put back into production and they quit in 2014. Great machines and good looking my dad bought one new in 2000 and eventually sold it and if I could find it and buy it I would.

At first, I thought to myself "why didn't he prep those quads and get them warm before the video?" but then I thought that it wouldn't have been as entertaining as watching you kick the @#$& out of it for awhile. My ATC250R is 215psi of compression with a CR head gasket and I kept thinking how much it would hurt kicking that thing as much as you did with flip-flops on. I keep wanting to drop the ratio but I'm just too lazy to take the head off a motor that has about an hour and fifteen minutes on it since complete rebuild...Great video as always 👍

I recently passed on a 1991 in NH that literally looked show room condition. So I guess the 87 was meant to be.

absolutely loved my 96 300ex, let my girlfriend at the time's step dad take it, cause he said he was gonna get it going again and ended up just selling it or something... but still have my 400 also a '99, literally rode it into the ground. rings are fried, clutch is fried, like the 3rd carrier is absolutely destroyed, steering stem destroyed, frame has some cracks, a arm has been bent and cracked about mid way where i wraped it around a tree after i stood it up and came off the back for the last like 5 or 6 years i was riding it. of course it was the one tree within half a mile at the time and walked straight to it on the back wheels. i was 15 when i got it, and rode it basically every day for years, swaped to my cr or the bored foreman s every now and then. still have the foreman as well, that is one hell of a machine, actually jump and wheelie really well for a HEAVY 4wd. god knows what the big ones weigh now, but that one is way more than i every wanna lift. good thing it had a winch on the front. had to pick my 400 up over a huge tree blocking an old log road and the only option was to go up and around. the foreman had no brakes, as for some reason it just does not like having them, and i don't really care. had to aim it toward a tree coming back down cause i didn't really wanna ride it down, which kinda says something. hit the tree perfect to stop it, and me and my cousin went on about our excursion across the holler. this old lady looked at us like aliens when we ended up in her back yard cause we didn't really know exactly where we were goin. told her the fence was down, which it was. she was at the end of the next road over so, not many people come out of the woods that way. the old log road we were following went to it, which is god knows how old. rode those hills a LOT with all of em. my 400 would climb some damn hills. and always made a good show, with my bald original tires for a while which made it interesting. i always pause mid air long enough for one f bomb and to get everyone's attention, then over i go. nothing like a honda, that foreman and 400 absolutely proved that to me. and something about that 400 was just a little faster, even with my big ass on it. never lost to another 400, only ones that'd tpouch it were 450s when they came out and even they had to earn it, it wouldn't let em just walk off. had several different pipes, big gun full headers, airbox/filter, jets, maybe some other little things, but the white brothers ignition really woke it up and the extra 500rpm made a big difference, i don't care what anybody says. i never hit the limiter after i swapped it. it's gopnna get a 450r swap or somethin one of these days. maybe even somethin a little crazier. it deserves it, cause when i finally restore it i'm gonna have to go through everything, so it's gonna be worth it and not going back stock but will always be honda powered. not having to worry about reverse helps with choices. always wanted the 2 wheel version, i've seen what it'll do lugging around all the extra steel and rubber, i'd love to see it on the xr. and maybe a 650r one day.

I have a 04 honda 250ex thats bored out and jetted and was my first atv to learn on and learn how too fix it cause its gone too hell and back with 5 top end rebuilds and endless amount of jumped timing and no clue how the bottom end held up as long as it is. But know im getting older and its getting slow for my style of riding so its time for a 450 race quad and im definitely keeping the 250ex and will do a full rebuild from the chassis up with as many aftermarket parts i can find for it.

However, When the buyer cam to look at it, The bike was having trouble starting, He got it started and the bike kept bogging out.
