Thanks for not splitting wood for 20 minutes with no other information which a lot of other "reviews" like to do. You gave a good review with a lot of valuable info packed into a short video.
Thanks. I try not to drone on too much. Show people what they came to see! A few pieces split and some spec info and my experience with it and have a nice day 👋 cheers! I agree there are a lot of bad review videos which is one reason I started this channel! Thanks for taking notice!
South Mississippi here. Bought my 27 ton over the phone the other night from Home Depot. They thought I was crazy because I insisted on a unit that was still in the crate. I’ve read other reviews where folks had issues from poor quality assembly. They placed that bad boy in the back of my truck with a fork lift. It was very easy to assemble. Impressive craftsmanship.
You will love it!!!! In fact I had mine put for a couple hours this afternoon and will be bucking up some hardwoods tomorrow for another afternoon of it. We bought ours pre-assembled and have had no issues with it at all! It's been great 👍
Well done review. My Champion has been doing great over the last year. 20+ cords and only had one screw fall out of the control handle but was easily fixed in 2 minutes. 👍
I was looking at this but the smaller foot print and faster cycle time for the Ryobi Kinetic Log splitter is appealing since it has no maintenance involved, will easily do smaller jobs and be easier to store. Am I making a mistake for someone who does small loads of medium size rounds and no larger rounds?
I just got my champion log splitter. Question though. So underneath the machine near the choke and fuel shut off there’s like a black box with fuel lines attatched. The small line attatched to that box for me is leaking gasoline when running. All my fluid levels are good and this was on a full tank of gas. Any idea why that is? The line it’s leaking from is like a small 2 inch black tube just attatched to the box thing and nothing else. Is it like a extra fuel drain and maybe I put too much fuel?
I'm thinking that what you are describing is a leak in the Hydraulic fluid hose. It's about 2 inches. This can happen due to over filling the Hydraulic oil reservoir. Try siphoning a bit of Hydraulic fluid out and see if this resolves it. Mine with spit and sputter fluid if it's overfilled after a few minutes when it gets hot.
@@40acresofclueless ok. I’ll try that. It came with hydraulic fluid and oil in it already. It’s strange the line that’s leaking out the tip definently gasoline based on the smell. Not sure what’s going on.
@@jarredsevene6600the only time it happened to me was when I overfilled the gas tank. I let the engine run until it stopped. My Champion has been doing well(20+ cords) if you like slow machines but you get what you pay for. Bigger/better cost over $2500.
@@saltrock9642 you know what that might just be it. I did fill it to the brim with gas and only split a few rounds. I’ll run it more and see if it stops. I’m sure that’s all it is. Thanks!
@@larrykluckoutdoors8227 That is another great idea! Wow you're just full of helpful sugestions! I do sometimes have trouble with them being wobbly on that tiny little platform in the upright position!
That's a good tip. I had heard that small engines run best with ethanol free fuels. No one wants a carborator rebuild on their hands! Hi from Northern Wisconsin!!!
Of ALL the vids I watched, YOU are the only operator who is smart enough to take the slack out of the starter rope before giving it a tug. Good job!
Oh yeah, otherwise you wreck your shoulder

I refuse to buy it prebuilt. I ordered mine online so I could assemble it myself.
A right proper review. Thank you. Note: there are two different engine sizes for this model and two different cycle times.
Oh delightful! I did not know that!!!!
Well done video. I learned a lot.

I'm getting ready to fire it back up again this coming weekend. Gotta split some more firewood!
That’s an informative review. Well done.
Thanks. I appreciate the feedback 😊
Definitely the best review I have seen yet on this machine. Great job!
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the feedback!!!!
Champion owes you money! Great review. You have skills on the presentation!

About to fire mine up for the season again here shortly!!!!

No I don't think so. I think if you are doing smaller trees you'd be surprised 😮
Just got the exact one and it takes 10-15 pulls to start. I’m tired out before I start splitting. Can anyone Help?
I'll the cord slightly before yanking on it. Also between uses make sure the fuel pump is turn. Off r it's really hard to start up again!!!

That was one of the best review on a splitter I have seen. Clear and plain. Wife love it
Stop by my channel some time and check it out
You betcha! Thanks for checking it out. I love this log splitter. It's my baby! lol

When you split with it upright. Put down a piece of 2x6 about 16” long by the base piece to help hold the round in place

Hello from Northern Virginia, just subscribed, we have a Crimson splitter, would recommend no ethanol in the gas for a trouble free carburetor 🚜🪵👍🏼🇺🇸
