- This 2008 Ram 3500 with a 6.7 diesel was towed in due to the transmission not going into drive or reverse. Scanning the transmission computer returned code P0944 Loss of Pump Prime. Testing revealedthe problem was internal.
Thanks Phillip for showing all the information and along with ur thought process to fix this truck as u mentioned really lucky customer and he is in the right place to fix his truck enjoyable as always.cheeeeeeers
Thanks so much bro. Did thisbsame thing at the walmart patking lot. Changed the fluid and filters. 2 things. My flat filter had double gasket on it. Was rough getting it the 1st one out. 2. Had to resrt the codes for it to work after. Thanks so much my friend
We had a cummins come in with a transmission slip code. We sent it over to our buddy with a transmission shop and he found they had the wrong fluid pick up on it meant for a shorter pan. Sorry, I can't recall which cummins it was but it fixed his problem when the correct fluid pick up was added and the transmission could pick up fluid at the right level.
Thanks for the video
2010 Ram 1500 545RFE
Parked. No problems , started up on incline to put boat away. no gearshift at all.
P0944, 868, 876, 731
Guessing its a failed pump or something similar to filter as i just did filters 10k ago
no pump prime P0944 would obviously cause P0868 TransFluidPress to be low and
P0876 TransFluidPress range problem
causing P0731 Gear 1 incorrect ratio as nothing is spinning to match RPM
Hope you have the same issue. You could try adding another 4 litres oil to raise the level above the filter see if it moves then.
Did you fix it with a new filter and seal?
Mine have same problem no gears I’ll start with checking the filters thank you for info
I have a 2005 3500 Cummins and the drive won’t work only revers and 1 what’s the problème
I have the same exact problem in my 2007 Ram 3500 diesel truck I took the transmission pan off does magnet inside transmission pan full of stuff filter and oil filters everything still intact tighten up loose what do you think could fix it you think the filters could be clogged that might be why it ain't getting pressure to move
Sounds like rebuild time. If the small filter did not fall off like this one you probably have a front pump failure
Thank you I appreciate it
Mine does the same thing. 03 dodge cummins. All of a sudden it wouldnt go into gear. It seemed like when i tried to erase the code it would catch into gear. The guy i bought it from did say he had the transmission rebuilt
check the fluid level. You could try to purposely overfill the transmission to see if the filter is leaking or pull the pan and have a look inside.
Hello, I have a 07 ram 3500 4x4 and it just go in first gear and it doesn’t go to the rest gears.. when I switch from R to D it makes a weird noise and also a little kick. What do you think is wrong with it ?
That's pretty tough to say. Start by checking the fluid level and quality. Then scan for codes and go from there. If it doesn't have reverse it usually indicates an internal trans failure.
@@PhillipBailey mine can revers but on d it won’t move but on 1 it will what’s wrong
Most likely internal transmission failure. Any codes?
Hi can you please tell me what it or find the. Meaning of 7 codes for a dodge ram, 06 ,5.7 hemi 545 rfe transmission . won't shift into gear , I'm at the point of remanded trans. Or. Wrecking yard or shift selonold block replacement ???
What are the codes and what computer are you getting them from?
Hi here's the codes , Po 700, Po 882,876,871,846,864,988. Theses are the codes that the reader FIXD
Has gave me but the deal is it doesn't work (shift into any gear ) Thanks for the help
@@jimangelo8319 I believe the 882 code is most important as it has to do with power to the transmission. Here's a test procedure from Identifix...
1. Check the control to the transmission control output voltage, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) should send B+ out on the Yellow/Dark Blue wire from pin 18 of the C4 connector to the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) at key on. If there is a problem in the circuit, it will then remove the power, putting the transmission into limp-in.
2. When the PCM requests the circuit to be energized by the TIPM, the PCM is monitoring the return voltage from the TIPM on pins 19, 28 and 38 of the C4 connector on the Yellow/Orange wire. The PCM is also looking for battery voltage through the winding of each of the solenoids.Tech Tips:The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) is a combination fuse block and control module, replacing the Integrated Power Module (IPM) and Front Control Module (FCM). It's replaced as an assembly.
It's either a wiring problem or a TIPM problem good luck.
I have a 99 dodge and it will go into gear u just have to rev it and it will sometimes click into and move what could that be?
Forward, reverse or both? Fluid level ok? Sometimes the filters come loose as this one did. Aside from that if it won't go into reverse it's likely transmission rebuild time.
@@PhillipBailey it goes 8nto every gear but it's almost like it's not registering it right away
@@longhairedboi3886 I'm not sure what you mean by that. If it delays engagement into reverse and the fluid level is full and the filter has not fallen off then its transmission rebuild time.
It’s your transmission SILinoid pack
I was wrong!!!!
Yes this customer lucked out...
I have the exact issue
So what did you replace it and did it fix the problem?? Mine just lost all gears and when the truck is on won’t go into park it will just grind.
@@ztwistedfatez913 yes all I did to fix the problem was replaced the transmission Solenoid
