I’m glad they’re keeping the uniform style from season 2. The Starfleet uniform in season 1 wasn’t that great, but I love the season 2 uniform
They modified it slightly by bringing the top half just above the waist line. It was a good modification in my opinion.
Nice to see the old Spacedock is still around. I hope this season leads to a spinoff because while Discovery has the far future covered, we need something set in a period where most of the characters, worlds, and governments from the 90s shows are still around for an update. It would be nice to get some in depth exploration of the Alpha Quadrant as it exists nearly a quarter century since the Dominion War ended. Have the Cardassians rebuilt? What are the Klingons up to these days and is Martok still in power(probably not)? Where are the Romulans based in this time period with their homeworld destroyed and who's in charge? Plenty to explore there
Not a bad plan except the key 18-35 year old demographic likely won't find it entertaining.
It's possible with Lower Decks and Prodigy filling in some of the post-Nemesis/VOY timeline (2380) we may eventually see what happens in the 2390s and so on.

They cut away from whatever Riker said “Hello beautiful” too. Then they show the Titan-A clearly many times. I reckon tucked in space dock is the Enterprise. They did say it’s in the season somewhere!
He could be saying that to the Titan, he was going off to command the Titan at the end of Nemesis, so it’s his old ship
It’s a very suspect cut. I definitely think it’s an Enterprise in one form or another.

Jeri Ryan is definitely a lead actor
Watching this made me cry happy tears. My husband and I have been together for 32 years. Long before there was Netflix and chill, we would watch recorded VHS tapes of TNG. We continued watching TNG on and off over our 32 years together. We are still madly in love and sci-fi geeks, but my fondest memories are watching TNG with him. I can't wait for S3 of Picard.

Thanks for sharing your story, I was one when TNG started, Got into TNG when I was five, my first episode I ever remember watching was the best of both worlds parts one and two (end of S3 beginning of S4).

DS9 happens to be my favourite Star Trek show of all time, with TNG being my second favourite.

I'm really pleased that they made Bill Krause's Shangri-La class canon-ish (his design used Constitution Refit parts). Looks fantastic brought into the 25th century aesthetic! Looking forward to what this season has in store.
I am pleasantly surprised too. The Shangri-La is one of my favorite designs from Bill.
I really hope they sneak his actual TMP Shangri-La into the captain's ready room like they did his TOS Stargazer

It's terrible. It looks like they have gone backwards from the D itself in terms of design. It looks closer to the SNW design styles. These guys can't seen to understand tech advancement.
I just hope at some point, if we have the Titan-A, that if Riker takes command, he does say, "Give me warp in a factor of 5, 6, 7, 8."

After the fans went wild over Anson Mount's Capt Pike, Spock, and Number One in the Discovery episodes, the Paramount execs got the message loud and clear. They do listen.

Honestly she should have had a rank when they introduced her in season 1. They completely forgot her character growth from Voyager and who her friends were. 20 years later she would have been at least a captain.

I know they're going for nostalgia points with the Constitution-ish looking Titan, but the Luna Class from the books and Lower Decks deserves more love.
I'm hoping it's a successor to Riker's Titan, as opposed to being the same ship.
@@primal114 I'm actually hoping it's more of a precursor to his Titan. The ship in this trailer looks more like late 23rd/early 24th century design than late 24th, early 25th. Maybe it was in the Fleet Museum or something. There were rumors that we'd see an Enterprise, possibly the recovered saucer of Enterprise-D, in a museum, so maybe this Titan is an older ship that was decommissioned. Maybe they've even stolen it!
I'm assuming this is the Titan A since the Luna class already appeared in season 2 of Picard (it was in the fleet scenes), and it wouldn't make sense for the Luna class to exist in-universe and have the original Titan be a new class.

I mean, Seven never used her birth-name herself from what i know, only in Season 1 it was used by the collective once when she left the queens control "seat", otherwise everyone calls her Seven.
i honestly will miss this chapter of my life, tears and all. beautiful people, will always love them. all of them, even the small people that filled the ships.
really well done shows, from start to finish, these people deserve so much more for the work they've done. real pioneers of a "peace and prosperity" that could be, truly.
Look at that, a reunion of the Next Gen crew for one last adventure. Exactly what the fans wanted. Why couldn't they have given this to us in season one?

For anybody curious about the Titan design, it's been confirmed apparently by Terry Matalas that it is NOT the original Titan, but the U.S.S. Titan, NCC-80102-A

Yeah, I would watch that. Maybe don’t call it Star Trek, just Seven maybe? Cameos from Voyager, including Janeway (water under the bridge at this point?). And it’s about Seven being a captain, and also dealing with prejudice being Borg. And lastly, her past doing shady things with the Rangers. Maybe even flashbacks to right after Voyager returned to the Alpha Quadrant.

I doubt anything will eclipse All Good Things. Better than Nemesis shouldn't be a hard bar, but season 2 didn't clear that, so....

@@obertan85 honestly idk what I was expecting from picard season 1 and honestly the first episode started off kind of interestingly but yeah it did become grabage thing is I could say the same thing about season 2 but it take a bit longer to become grabage because I did not hate the first 4 episodes season 2 when I first saw them but it did get worse and went down hill from there
The ship at the start looks like a updated Steamrunner Class first seen in ST First Contact while at the same time looks abit like the NX-01 so it will be interesting to find out what class of ship it is when the season comes out.
I honestly thought that was an NX at first but I think it was just a different angle on the Titan that made it look that way.

The USS Titan (NCC-80102-A) was a Federation Shangri-la-class - The Titan in the trailer.

I don't know if the show will be any good. But I know this trailer made me have the feels. Star Trek fans will will know what I mean without me having to explain it. Old school Trekkies are just different. That's why I love you guys
You know the old saying "fool me once shame on me, fool me twice....." well after STD and SNW I find it hard not to see this teaser and season as the producers going "Well we tried to reach the vocal and diverse twitter crowd with two series now, the first one went so bad Netflix bailed on us and the second one barely survived on Anson Mount's glorious hair......so maybe, just maybe we should let the C team with actual ties to TNG and beyond have a go at it, cant possible go any worse"

I know what you mean. I didn't even finish Season 1. The final episode of Season 1 still is unwatched. Didn't bother with Season 2. This trailer gave me the feels, that nostalgia, seeing the TNG cast, even as aged as they are now, took me back to happier times.
Man, they really upgraded the old Spacedock.
@@provisionalhypothesis pause the scene and look again. This Spacedock is way more massive and has additional mushroom pods attached to it. This is actually the 1st time we’ve seen the actual Prime Universe Earth Spacedock on screen since Star Trek 6.
My favorite moment was when Picard said "it's picardin' time" and picarded all over the enterprise. Truly one of the shows of all time

If anyone is still feeling doubtful and has some reservations about this season of picard, I would highly recommand going to the showrunners twitter, he is the only showrunner this season so this is mostly all him, his name is Terry Matalas. The way he talks about trek and this season, I think would give you much more hope about what is in store for this season. The threads and conversations he has with fans about this season and star trek in general might make you feel abit better about this upcoming season of picard!!!

@@moe47988 Well perhaps but im not giving up hope for this season being at least good, Terry Matalas definitely has me hyped, he has been on record that this is completely different from the first two seasons on Picard and will be in line on what fans want.
His work on other TV shows like 12 monkeys is fantastic and he has actually written for trek before, Voyager and Enterprise and like i stated his twitter is filled with love for the original source material, the way he talks about ships, the character and the lore for star trek has me really excited. I actually do have HOPE.

Congrats on becoming a starship commanding officer, Seven of Nine. Make us proud! I'm sure Admiral Kathryn Janeway is proud of the officer you are now. I'd like to see Chakotay and his Voyager crew come back as well.
Admiral Picard addressed 7 of 9 as commander, not captain. So she's either the first officer or a lieutenant commander.

I hope that this season is gonna be a soft-pilot for a new show about Seven as captain of the Titan or the new Enterprise. I'd love to see that.
Going to be interesting to see how they use John DeLancy, as he’s listed as confirmed for season 3. Brent Spiner is as well, but I’m sure he’ll just be playing yet ANOTHER Soong family member.
Hopefully we find out that all the Soongs are actually physical clones of Adam
Soong from Season 2.
Then it turns out Data was just a clone with holograms that made him look like a machine
where is de Lancie listed as confirmed for season 3? I can't find it listed anywhere, yet I can find ample articles of his saying he is not coming back for the third season

I'm guessing the Enterprise will be sent after them, or assist them. I can't see another time travel story.

After watching the teaser carefully. I believe that Riker is referring to EnterpriseE when he says "hello beautiful".
It will be an external cameo, because it would be too expensive to recreate the bridge set of the Enterprise E.
As we see they're using the Stargazer bridge for the Titan-A, because of budget.
There have been a million Enterprise ships. Do we really need more?
It looks great. I watched an interview with Terry Matalas, the new showrunner, and I was left really excited for this final season. The man's first job was in Star Trek: Voyager and is a big fan of the franchise. He was also 12 Monkeys' showrunner, so he knows how to make quality science-fiction. Everything he talked about, from the story and characters to the designs of the ships and the style of the soundtrack (they are going back to the Jerry Goldsmith/James Horner style) sounded like the Star Trek I've been waiting for the last two decades.
Took the words out of my mouth. visual canon is just as important as well as the scoring, all is part of the world building of legacy Trek in my opinion. The teaser inspired me to put a little mix together with a Dennis McCarthy score, added a few percussions to it.

Anyone else feel like those aliens after Crusher might have sounded a little like the ones from the realm Geordi triggered by accident when modifying the sensors. The ones who began kidnapping crew at night and experimenting on them. The clicks and sounds, were similar.

Ok, as a Star Trek trailer this was pretty good, I'm excited to see where this goes. But …. and I'm probably in the minority here, I'm disappointed to see yet another iteration of the Constitution, and this one in particular makes it feel (to me at least) like Starfleet is moving backwards with their ship designs rather than forwards. That being said, yay more Star Trek!
I don't think they're going backwards as more that they're using ship types that function well and don't need to make major changes to it.

I'm guessing this is a low level ship. Seven wouldn't be given a top-of-the-line ship for her first command. In Starfleet, she's junior to Sonya Gomez.
I really just hope that Season 3 ends up giving the TNG the respect and proper send off that they deserve.

The Titan's bridge and corridors looks like a redress of the Stargazer.
If anyone else curious as how they gonna shoehorn Brent into this season this time?
It just feels so right having 7 of 9 be with our classic TNG crew. Eyecandy aside, Jeri Ryan has always been great on screen and sells so well the muted turmoil and internal struggle within her character. So glad to see her come back again for the last season.
Especially when you remember she was originally supposed to be in the Last next gen movie

What happened to the deflector of the USS titan, the designer fell asleep? it is far from having the grace of the previous ships. (1701 refit or 1701-D for exemple..)

That's not a Luna-class. It's a nice design, and if it's the Titan-A or something I'm 100% on board and would even happily buy it from the C-Store in Star Trek Online. But if that's supposed to be Riker's Luna-class USS Titan there's going to be a lot of upset fans.
It's not Riker's Titan. Riker's Titan appeared in Lower Decks and was indeed Luna Class (LD is canon).

in the beginning and 30 seconds in it shows the Elachi Frigates from STO, except with an orange glow instead of the green one
ESD got an upgrade. Kind of cool hybrid design of the original and the Kelvin version
I really like the ship design. I just wish it hadn't have been called the Titan. They could've used a new name.

Did you not watch the second season of Picard where what’s her face turns into a borg? It was like high school musical! That’s why I quit watching it
No the visuals are terrible and always blurry and teal.
I can watch original Trek, Babylon 5, Stargate etc - and the dated effects don't bother me *at all.*
...But then again, those shows were well written.
I'd take the upbeat lighting and sets of TNG over anything from modern Trek that looks too busy and militaristic.
Hyped for Season 3, but what's gotten me REALLY hyped is the ships seen at the beginning look a LOT like Elachi ships from Star Trek Online
It would have been a nice finale to bring back a new updated version of the enterprise for the final season.
Sooo, we got the new Stargazer in the previous season, now it's gone, we got Riker's Titan in Lower Decks, now that's gone, and here we have a, erm, very refitted Constitution-y Titan? It would have just been far easier to give us the Enterprise-E, I miss that ship, as much as others dog on it, she was a stunner, and seeing unnamed Sovs in Season 2 just showed how gorgeous they still are...
In universe, Seven is not going to be given command (or likely XO) of a capital ship, which is what a Sovereign would be.
@@provisionalhypothesis They had 3 sovereign class ships that looked just like the enterprise-e as it appeared in the tng movies with no changes in the design in season 2 of picard. They also have shown the galaxy class enterprise-d as it appeared in tng as a hologram and a dream in season 1. Season 2 also had steam runner and nova class ships.
That looked a lot like Starfleet HQ on Earth being blown to very small pieces right at the start. Plus, Beverly Crusher with a Phaser Rifle fighting unknown enemies?
This LOOKS good. But I thought the Titan was Rikers ship...? On the other hand, if Seven finally got her Commission with Starfleet after everything and all this time? Why wouldn't Riker let her give the Order...
Also, practically all of the old guard are coming back for what may just be Picard's last Mission. After all these years, it's going to be odd to see them all gelling as a crew again. But fun.
I just wonder what has happened to Raffi. It seems she and Starfleet have parted company again-and not on good terms. We'll find out, I hope.

@@k--music Other commentors say it's the Bill Krause Shangri-La class, a fan design TMP era ship. It has the warp nacelles from the new Stargazer though. I think that means this is a refit of a very old starship, which makes sense for Seven's first command, but it would be an inferior ship to Riker's Titan (or the refit of Riker's Titan).
They really should have used a different name to avoid confusion. "Raven" wouldn't have been a bad choice. It's not a stretch to say Admiral Janeway would have the pull to rename a ship for Seven.
I'm probably showing my age, but in some ways, the Titan-A reminds me of the USS Surak Spock commanded from the first edition of DC's old Star Trek Comics. Some shots it looked liked a Oberth Class, while other times it looked like a never before used Federation vessel. I most remembered this from the reprint of the Mirror saga reprint which came out in 1992.

I love Picard, the character, because of the relationships he's formed with the TNG crew. The reason why Season 1 and 2 were so achingly disappointing was because his TNG crew was absent. The writers tried to put together a new crew in a few episodes just didn't work. The fact that they didn't know what to do with Elnor and Soji's character in Season 2 says it all. After season 1, the writers painted themselves into a corner and didn't know how to get out of it. Finally, season 3 is going to give me what I hoped for when ST:P was first announced four years ago!
You do know they killed off the old Picard at the end of season one right? This "Picard" we see here is just an advanced android with a copy of Picard's neural patterns.

You're forgetting about Spock. His resurrection was with a hyper aging body which was a clone of the original implanted with original Spocks memories. Basically, the same. And treated the same by everyone. Philosophicaly and metaphysicaly the same situation.
@@walterdayrit675 Technically, TNG Season 1 killed off Picard in a transporter accident and replaced him with a slightly younger clone for the rest of the franchise, so consider it a tradition! ;)

the Picard season 1 tie in comics showed they were on the Enterprise-F, so perhaps. it was an Odyssey class, using the STO design, and they've been including STO ships in as 25th century ones. and the Oddy got a major visual overhaul on the game recently.. alongside all the ones that turned out to be appearing in Picard Season 2..

@@airrider-jk9ik He means that this Picard is nowhere near as authoritative and assertive as the TNG Picard... which in some ways makes sense... the character is much older and more chagrined with Starfleet over the years. That said, I understand that those of us who grew up with TNG (like me) would like to see just a little of the younger ticked off at Q Picard

Why does the Titan-A have the same bridge as the Sagan class? And what happened to the Stargazer? And Starfleet allows Commanders to captain ships now? I'm so confused and EXCITED!!!!
I mean, in reality it's probably just a set redress... in-universe maybe both ships classes were designed by the same person, who figured "eh, the Sagan class bridge was fine, I'll just copy and paste that into the new blueprints" and called it a day?
And, I mean, Sisko was a commander in charge of a space station... then they got assigned a starship for Gamma Quadrant missions and such and he was in command of that for close to a year before he finally got promoted to captain. It's also possible that Seven is only in command of the ship until they assign someone more permanent. That would be similar to Saru at a couple points in Discovery.
