SHADY SPOT - Low Bridge For Cooler Sheepshead Fishing

Sheepshead are difficult to locate in mid-July because it is so dadgum hot outside. If you are comfortable then the fish are comfortable too. Find a shady spot and cool off while you catch dinner. Get out there and be somebody!

Fresh bait matters. Catch Mud Crabs under "stuff", below the high tide line (Wear Gloves, oyster cuts are nasty). The purple crabs with spots and striped legs are stone crabs and are illegal to possess.

I don’t think sheepshead are leader shy at all. Use heavy enough line for the structure you are fishing. I use 100 pound braid because big black drum are in the areas I fish. Good luck to you sir.
