GOATHEADS - Final Bite Of Summer
Them Goats were biting mud crabs today. Shallow water at the bridge was the spot and falling to low tide in the morning had the best bite. Just have to be there to find out which time of day and tide is best. Get out there and be somebody!

Fresh bait matters. Catch Mud Crabs under "stuff", below the high tide line (Wear Gloves, oyster cuts are nasty). The purple crabs with spots and striped legs are stone crabs and are illegal to possess.

GAME OVER - Sheepshead Master Class
Просмотров 12 тыс.Месяц назад
Mid to Late Summer is prime time for Sheepshead action here in the Carolinas. Rain days make for fun fishing because they provide cooler temps and less boat traffic. Sea Urchins and Mud Crabs are excellent bait to target these tasty fish. To me, Sea Urchins are by far the best bait for this time of year. Let me know what you think about that! Sheepshead freeze well so don't be bashful about cat...

TROUT BATTLE - New PB! Appalachian Fishing Hike

The Appalachian Mountains of NC hold a special place in my heart. Something surreal about those hills. Cold water rushing through the rocks and the vegetation seems as if it was planted there and kept up by a team of gardeners. The trout are abundant and the fishing pressure is sparse. Such a peaceful place. Take a hike, get lost and find yourself. Get out there and be somebody! Gear Used: 25 y...

RED DRUM OR BUST! Surf Fishing Paradise
Просмотров 6 тыс.2 месяца назад
North Carolina offers great surf fishing from early Spring all the way through late Fall. We are in the middle of June and there are a variety of species to catch in the Summer, including Red Drum, which was the target on this day. I like to use sand fleas if they are available but live Striped Killifish and cut Mullet are hard to beat. Swarms of Pinfish made fishing difficult today, but we man...

HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT - Bridge Fishing Challenge
Просмотров 9 тыс.7 месяцев назад
Today presented us with a unique set of circumstances. We had a cold North East wind (average morning temperature was 38 degrees) and a slow and very timid fish bite. It all comes down to "HOW BAD YOU WANT IT"! We could have easily thrown...

Just started watching your channel earlier this week. I like the content. Im an avid fisherman in the piedmont area of NC, and video a bit, but love to fish the ICW and ocean. Last time i was out was when flounder season was open for the few days they give us. I fished the Basin at Fort Fisher and had a great time. Hopefully, I'll get to come back your way soon before the bite cools off, and I'll run across you. Tight lines.

Y'all need to look into the rope lures for gar fishing. I like to make a smaller version of the rope lures and use them with a hook and bait. I only use very small tremble hooks or small circle hooks. But the frayed nylon ends of the rope easily tangles and holds in their teeth. Yes they work a little too good and you either have to cut the gar off of your line and put them on ice, or take a little time with gloves, ( which you should always use when handling gar fish.), and a good pair of needle nose pliers. It'll take a little longer to untangle from the gars teeth but it's a surefire way to catch them much more consistently without a lot of misses.
