    Happy to see you growing your business, and buying good gear.
    I've used a miller wire feeder for years with my 302 trailblazer and never had an issue.
    6011 and 7018 are great, but sometimes wire is what the job calls for.
    Best of luck buddy!!

    You will like the arc reach feature. It's nice when your in the field to be able to adjust voltage at the feeder and not go back and forth to fine tune it. I ran mine on a bobcat 250 for a while then just replaced that with a trailblazer 325. It's the basic 325 but the set up works well. I just need to practice on my end mors.

      Get the esab 215 with a tweco spray master 250 with velocity consumables to start with, you can run it almost any where you have 120v or 240v outlets. Save up some $$$$ you made with the esab for the suit case and get one when you can

    I have an 8VS and love it. I've ran that .045 Lincoln dual shield wire with great results. For most standard welding I do, I don't like to mess with gas, so I either run .045 T-11 wire or Lincoln NR-212. The 212 is my overall favorite wire. It runs as smooth as butter and is great for out of position work. Unless you need to run the dual shield wire, give the 212 a try. It beats messing with a tank and hose every time. And wind is no worry with it.

    • @williamthomas9463
      @williamthomas9463 4 года назад

      Yes but...., the NR212 is NOT rated for impact properties therefore, it can’t be used for structural applications.

    • @MarkDecamps

      It all depends on the structure and the WPS you have been given or if you’ve been given a WPS. Hobart fabshield21b is rated for structural applications up to 3/4”. I actually ran some on the structural job I’m using the suitcase. Since the engineer specs only call for a 70 series filler I can choose whatever I feel works best given the situation. However I like the way duel shield lays out and the fact it’s an x-ray quality weld so I mainly used duel shield on the job.

    i have the miller extreme 8VS and the miller 8RC and i think they are both brilliant. in short crcuit the 8 vs is great.I run them both on a miller xmt 304 and have great results . for the age of the xmt 304 it welds as good as a any new machine.the miller suitcases run amazing with it. I have the Miller Optima pulse box set up on the 8RC feeder and it just works so well.It's a cheap way to get mig pulsing and still have a portable suitcase feeder. I agree with you on the weight of the 8vs compared to the bigger suitcase feeder its far easier to move about with the spool in it. I know the small spools are more expensive but if you hold on to your used small spools you can transfer the wire from the bigger spools on to the smalls ones quite easily.

    You can weld aluminum with a wire feed system like that. You just need a different gun you need a push-pull system How is it a push-pull system it pushes from the wire feeder and it pulls from the gun. There is a motor in the gun. Just like a spool gun. XR gun Miller makes it

      If they don’t do mobile and you do mobile I wouldn’t worry about it. And the unfortunate truth is you may have to step on their toes. I’d be polite to them but at the end of the day if you offer a service they or not offering and people go to you for that service they can’t be mad at you.

    You should also do a bend test before you do any major repairs are fab.
    Not to knowledgeable about dual shield but a buddy of mine took a test one ever and seems fine and when the tested it it broke polarity and wrong current FYI

    • @derbadortheweldor8940
      @derbadortheweldor8940  4 года назад +2

      If he had the polarity backwards of course it broke. Duel shield as long as you have the settings mostly correct and you’re using electrode positive you can get very good results with much less effort. I just recently did a cutting and etching on a flat and a vertical weld and it turned out really well when I make my final review video I’m gonna show them in the video.

    This may be a stupid question, but can’t you plug in a regular mig welder to the engine drive? I’m not trying to be a douche because this thing looks cool, but I’m genuinely wondering why this over just a mig. Thank you.

    • @derbadortheweldor8940
      @derbadortheweldor8940  Год назад +1

      Yes you can plug a regular mig into an engine drive. But most portable Mig machines have a very small duty cycle. This lets you take advantage of the 100% 250 amp duty cycle of the bobcat. since all the suitcase does is push wire nothing inside heats up. Therefore there’s a 100% duty cycle at 350 amp on the suitcase. This allows you to run wire bigger than 1/16 without running into duty cycle issues or overheating

    • @randomschittz9461
      @randomschittz9461 Год назад

      All spool guns use DC+ to weld aluminum. AC is used for tig because it gets its penetration from the DC- side and cleaning from the DC+ side of the sine wave. One of the oldest misconceptions of the welding industry is that you must have AC to weld aluminum.
