    I recently bought one used so far it works fine but now knowing this I'm going to just change them out for new ones I don't like the idea that I could just be working a long one day burning in some wire and all the sudden pop thanks for making me aware of this issue and you do some amazing things with stainless steel

      Thanks, definitely change them out. My one blew up and it's almost 4k for the parts

    Do you know of any flaws with the Dynasty 350's? I had a circuit board go bad. A quarter sized blue disk popped. Not sure what it is .

      Not sure on those but my buddy that repairs miller equipment warned me that the 350s have issues that were fixed in the 400s

    How do you know when they should be changed?

    Is this a problem on the feildpros version only? I have a regular xmt 350

    Just brought mine in cause it let the smoke out says entire unit shorted,caps are blown PC2 is melted and damaged PC1. Was wondering how to test if the board is fried or not cause they quoted me $6000 to fix it so was cheaper to replace unit.

    Is this something that should be done with the xmt 304 also,,,have never taken mine apartjust blew it out with compressed air...has been running fine for years, i remember you had trouble with the one you had, thanks.

    • @DarlingtonFarm
      @DarlingtonFarm  4 месяца назад

      No the 304 is a different design. The 350 runs the two capacitors at 950 volts when they are rated for 1kv

    Zack what problem code did your xmt 350 display for a trouble code? I’ve got an xmt down now.
    Thanks,
    Chris

      Mine didn't throw a code just threw the magic smoke

    I have run these before-amazing 'stick' welders.I'll stick with running my Lincoln 350MP and Miller pipepro400

      I really like them but just not when they let out the magic smoke

    I have cst280, wonder if they have the same problem with the capacitors?

    • @DarlingtonFarm
      @DarlingtonFarm  4 месяца назад +1

      Actually I was just talking to my buddy that repairs welders and the 280s the only real issue is people break off the one output stud from the inductor. Just don't drag it around by the leads and your probably good

    Im confused
    How often do you change these.
    Are the factory ones bad period?

    • @DarlingtonFarm
      @DarlingtonFarm  4 месяца назад

      Probably every three years, just really close to rated voltage

      @@DarlingtonFarm Well that suks. I use an old millermatic 250 I bought new and never had a problem. Cranked it some 1/2 thick long welds .035 wire and co2. Still setting in my shop. Was looking at one of these used so I saw this vid. Would bigger caps keep you from changing every 3 yrs?

    Seems you had a dynasty 400 so what is the logic for an xmt?

    • @DarlingtonFarm
      @DarlingtonFarm  4 месяца назад

      The xmt will run a smart feeder which is a portable rmd and pulse setup. Also the xmt is semi portable when I need big power. The dynasty 400 is so heavy there's no way I'd drag it to a job.

    Most everyone I know ( Including myself ) Have gone to Everlast machines.
    Have you ever tried a Everlast or at least looked into these equipment?
