@@JankSmanks That was also what made it so great when it came out. It was all about how trashy you could make the breakdowns sound lol. Personally I just thought there was too much brightness on the cymbals as a whole. Tracked extremely well but processed just a tad too much.
Matt used to be such a goofball, now he's so reserved and only speaks about his drum company or church...I feel like he was really the driving force that got this band to catch on. So much raw energy.
I met him outside in front of their bus before their show at HoB Houston actually, and he’s one of the chillest and kindest dudes I’ve ever met. I figure he was sillier when he was younger haha
I'm late for loving this band 2018, first listen in 2010 i was young 11yrsold their music is hard to consume at that time, now more mature i relize how God tier this band musicianship is.
I have Brent's guitar from this era. I know he toured with it for this album but I'm trying to see if he recorded with it. Be a pal and time stamp it for me if you see it lol
***** No they were Iron Cobras. I can tell by the way they sound on the album and by this video if you look closely enough you can see they're Iron Cobras.
The production style of this album would be a much welcomed return. After constellations, the production has popped less and less. Their most recent work fixed this for the most part and Ancestry is their most interesting song in a long time but it still just isn't the same as the first 3 albums...
you are nuts man! I think its one of the best sounding albums I've ever heard. I prefer the sound to messengers than any of their other albums, including next up would be leveler. its what made messengers, messengers. iconic sound. thats my opinion anyway.
"Matt is an awesome drummer."
Biggest understatement ever.
"It's evolving into I guess whatever we're evolving into."
One of the greatest metalcore bands to have ever existed. That's what you evolved into.
I still think this album has the best recorded cymbals ever
grinkorable I think the main china sounds a little to sharp and aggressive though..
he used zildjian oriental chinas for every album right?
am I the only one that absolutely loves the mix. Everything sounds so raw and aggressive
I hate the remastered version of this album. One of the reasons I dug it so much was the sound..... now it’s completely different
Insert :China: here
THEY WERE SO YOUNG OMG
I freakin love everything about these guys and their music. God bless August Burns Red.
AMEN! XD
The cymbals on this album will go down as the top 5 best recorded cymbals ever! Especially the CHINA!!!
@@JankSmanks this album smacks at full blast
@@JankSmanks That was also what made it so great when it came out. It was all about how trashy you could make the breakdowns sound lol. Personally I just thought there was too much brightness on the cymbals as a whole. Tracked extremely well but processed just a tad too much.
Still watching this in 2023. Remember picking this up at the messengers album release show at a little church in Lancaster. Memories 😊
Matt used to be such a goofball, now he's so reserved and only speaks about his drum company or church...I feel like he was really the driving force that got this band to catch on. So much raw energy.
Matt was so silly. He's serious nowadays
I met him outside in front of their bus before their show at HoB Houston actually, and he’s one of the chillest and kindest dudes I’ve ever met. I figure he was sillier when he was younger haha
Dear God, this album gives me shivers every time I listen to it. It's so damn awesome
Managed to get this album on vinyl. An incredible piece of work.
If you ever want to sell that vinyl...I will buy it from you :D
JB is identical 12 years later lmao. Everyone else has changed so much but JB is immortal I swear
Everyone looks different except JB. He looks exactly the same
I wish I could go back to that year and enjoy the music all over again
And to know that I saw these guys two days ago for this albums 10th year anniversary. God is good!
I'm late for loving this band 2018, first listen in 2010 i was young 11yrsold their music is hard to consume at that time, now more mature i relize how God tier this band musicianship is.
Alexander, the song at 15:50 is To Those About To Rock, it's featured only on their Lost Messengers: The Outtakes EP, released on 2009.
lol JB Brubaker peeing on that shirt isn't something you'll see anymore
This album one of the 3 albums that changed my life when it came out.
I've been a fan since 2009, I was still in high school and seen them 3 times. 4 times coming in april 20th on their 20th anniversary tour.
JB is the most consistent person ever
JB looks identical today.
Messengers is the heaviest sounding album even today post Far away places
I kinda agree to that to this day, but at least in specific tracks Guardians is the definitive heaviest ABR album now
JB hasnt changed at all!
Such an amazing band. I love the behind the scenes stuff.
"Making of The Messangers"
Love it
"its us evolving into whatever it is that were gonna evolve into".... im sobbing
@01:31 That's definitely guitar works of 'Redemption' before the part "Wanting your grace, wanting your security".
in the 58 seconds in, they spelled Messengers wrong. ;)
Tracking 13 songs in 5 hours is the most Pennsylvania farmboy thing Matt's ever done
Making of "The Messangers"
Anyone else notice the typo?
They had no idea how big this album would make them......
Bought this album at a show a couple years 100% worth it
Best album!!!!! Besides found in far away places....
one of the best albums recorded
3:23 I just watched a recent interview with Matt and he talked about how they still use Tabit haha I guess if it works, it works!
I have Brent's guitar from this era. I know he toured with it for this album but I'm trying to see if he recorded with it. Be a pal and time stamp it for me if you see it lol
The only time you'll see JB w/o sandals.
Little did they knew they'd be making the album... that old fans won't shut up about.
umm... the link in the description is a link to a corn site?
Fuck yeah!!! Never seen this before. Best album. And Tue Madsen!!! GOD!!
Matt at like 2:45. Lol what a goofball!
before jake was ripped and beefed about cookies XD
7:10
Holy crap look at Matt’s bicep. Dudes got some guns
Sooooooooooooooo sick much love from Canada.
i still use tabit to this day lol its a low key song writing weapon.
What song is JB singing at 1:33?
JB just doesn't age.
Greatest video ever!
15:51 dat riff... AND DAT BASS
It's funny how 4 of the 5 members had the same hair style LOL
Matt reminds me of Bill Pullman
Man I remember when this album released. One of the best bands alive still.
And to think they're on the Messengers 10th anniversary tour.
I love goofy Matt 😂
fuck I love JB
Did anyone else catch the bong in the corner when they snuck up on Jake screaming? haha
Wtf there’s unreleased songs shown here in the messengers style, I need them!!!
They were on the Lost Messengers EP. 'Chasing the Dragon' and 'Mosley'.
Dustin and Matt are almost identical
LOL the way matt hit his china back then lolol
Matt playing on Sabian 6:01
10:12
I heard midi track going
40 Grand ain't steep for ABR anymore lol
It’s so weird to see Jake with hair!!
How is there a thumbs down? Must be Jake cause the cookie situation lol
What song is at 13:25 when Jake's tracking?
It's "The Balance".
Thank you so much! :D
i dont know who you are, but thank you!
They had a different singer for thrill seeker?
Josue Cervantes nah man that's still jake
Ya they had a differeny singer. Not jake for thrill seeker
The singer for thrill seeker is josh mcmanness
Stage 4 was pushing it
Matt sounds British!
Man were they awkward back then lol. No hate. It just makes it even more badass that Messengers was created by these dudes.
whats the song at 15:50?
What bass pedal did he use?
I believe Matt used Tama Iron Cobra pedals during Messengers.
***** No they were Iron Cobras. I can tell by the way they sound on the album and by this video if you look closely enough you can see they're Iron Cobras.
anbukakashi689 how do you tell what a bass pedal sounds like on an album?
Aaron Vasquez You just get the ear for certain pedal sounds.
Mitch ZImmerman You're right. His hi hat stand is Pearl too.
Hah. Only known recording of them playing chasing the dragon at 3:07
Nothin beats Pshpshpshcore
almost sure its a black bong
The production style of this album would be a much welcomed return. After constellations, the production has popped less and less. Their most recent work fixed this for the most part and Ancestry is their most interesting song in a long time but it still just isn't the same as the first 3 albums...
not a bong, wtf??
cooperdrumboy69 does ABR smoke?
this band is so intense...they pee on shirts
AND DON'T GIVE A FUCK
Beat album ever
#sumyyaab Thats so true xD
Stage 1 lol
Dang they were lie emo...see when u keep members..peke grow yo like the band..specific members.
Try that again
they should remaster the album for 10th anniverary. its the only flaw about it. too much treble boosting °~°
you are nuts man! I think its one of the best sounding albums I've ever heard. I prefer the sound to messengers than any of their other albums, including next up would be leveler. its what made messengers, messengers. iconic sound. thats my opinion anyway.
lowtuned they already did remaster the messengers album
