Garza is awesome. He's not only in one of the most influential bands in metal, but his podcast has the best guest's. These pod casts are what gets me through work. Thanks garza
Yea Garza is awesome!! Been a massive fan of suicide silence for years, just some good dudes that are into good heavy music. JB and Brent are awesome too, phenomenal guitarists and August Burns Red are imo still giants of the genre. All that hard work paid off
Been a huge fan of ABR since 2006. We've all grown up together, now all married with kids. Its amazing how you feel so connected to people you've never met. Thanks for the many years of awesome music and memories, chaps! Its been a hell of a ride.
I remember hearing ABR for the first time. I was getting my first tattoo from a buddy of mine and he was playing Composure. I was blown away, WHAT IS THAT? Sure enough I’ve been a fan ever since.
@Jackson Cowdrey Im not a religious person by any means. However, I went through a christian metalcore/hardcore phase like a lot of 90's hardcore kids. ABR and Gideon are the only two that stuck with me, and Gideon doesn't even consider themselves christian anymore. ABR's lyrics are not written to be beholden to those with faith in a god. Relatable and poignant for all. I'll always be endebted to them for being a gateway to countless other bands. Plus..they still fuckin rip
Me and my wife just took our 6 year old to ABR’s Home for the Holidays show as his 1st concert! He was so excited, ABR is his favorite band and it was such a great experience for all of us 🤙🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I remember when Messengers first came out, so many people complained about the constant China on every breakdown. Now it's looked at in an endearing way with some fans wishing they'd do it again lol
I absolutely love these guys. They were my top band on Spotify this year with over 7500 minutes of listening time. I was the top .05 percent of listeners. Once you discover them, you can’t get enough of them
Yo Garza. Love these podcasts. Finally have a metal podcast I can listen to with all the modern upcoming and old school bands. Now I have another pod to actually look forward to on Mondays. Love it man. PLEASE keep em coming! Much love
i discovered August Burns Red on purevolume in highschool. That was 2004! Love the band, they change just enough to keep it interesting but not messing with the sound they created. Vocals are so different and evolved every album, guitars and drums are always nuts and catchy. Love it!
Great Interview as usual, Garza. I pre-ordered both Suicide Silence and ABR's newest albums. Been a fan of SS since the song Swarm and ABR since Thrill Seeker. Seeing them and meeting them on this 20-year tour really brought my entire life of seeing shows full circle from the first time I saw them in 03 at Headway Skate Park in Wichita, KS. Cheers to them (and to you guys) for keeping it going this long 🤘
Legendary band and a legendary talk! Garza podcast is a top1 metal talk show of the decade! Thanks for what you’re doing! This specific episode is better than Christmas to me as an ABR fan since 2008.
Oh man love ABR I used to have a matt greiner poster in my room when i was a kid. Dude was an inspiration for me as a drummer. Thankyou Garza for these dope podcasts! i been tuning in every episode love listening to people’s stories. 🤘😎🤘
Been listening to ABR since 2003! Seen them live so many times, and met them multiple times. Some of the most down to earth guys in the music scene i've ever met. I remember being starstruck meeting Matt (he's been one of my drumming idols since i was in my teens) and i congratulated him on recently getting married. I was with my wife (of 8 years at the time, now 14) at the show and he asked me what my best advice was to make marriage work. Felt so surreal speaking to one of my idols to give him advice on any subject. Also, 34 years old and i'll be in the crowd May 6th in Richmond, VA for this tour! Looking forward to another meet and greet!
Went to school at Millersville PA right out of Lancaster around 2010 and my buddies put me onto ABR. One of my favorite bands since. They don't have a bad album and their style is so unique.
Chris Garza literally sounds like Saul from Pineapple Express @ 1:07 when he talks about his computer updating his bank info hahaha love it! Great podcast.
Don't sell yourself short bro!!! Thrill Seeker is a masterpiece!!! I still have Barbarian and Endorphins on repeat till this day!! Especially Barbarian, that melodic lead , absolutely life changing for me!!!!!!
Saw ABR on the tour with LOG. I remember speaking with my dad and my friends about "the band just before LOG"(ABR) all the way home. Such a great band to see live! Have been a core part of my heavier playlists ever since!
Love the podcast! Its good to see interviews and perspectives of the same bands that i grew up and still love. Cant wait to see you guys in San Antonio for chaos and carnage!
I drove 8 hours across Texas to see ABR in 2019 on The Dangerous Tour. Been my favorite band since 2008 and I always go when they come to Houston, but the line-up for The Dangerous Tour was too good to pass up haha
Also got the opportunity to work Warped in 2011 and I watched ABR every single day I was on the tour. I'll never forget that time. These dudes are amazing musicians and people.
2007-08 The Cleansing and Messengers were absolute game changers. Also, Chimaira was the best band in that early 2000s Era, imo. They destroyed everyone they played with, including LoG and Unearth.
It's crazy they had the experience with a top producer in a lush studio for their first record, then they go out and just bang out Messengers on their own and it sounds twice as good as the first one. Messengers has such a distinct sound to it, whoever was the lead on it is a genius. They really all just got super lucky and the world was lucky they did. Best metalcore band ever imo
Loved the interview i have been listening to ABR since messengers and then found there record Thrill Seeker best band live and Brent mentioned age range and I am passed 40 lol but l love metal 🤘🤘🤘
Never heard of this podcast till I saw Braden Schieppati from bleeding through would be featured. Checked out this one since it hasn’t been released and man, this is sick! Interviewing great metal bands! 🤘🏽
Man mine and JB's metal path started very similar. I was first exposed to Poison The Well and hated it. But there was something about it that also kept me intrigued enough to keep listening and it snowballed eventually into heavier and heavier music. Cool to hear.
It is hilarious listening to them talk about thrill seeker like it is so unrefined while I’m over here absolutely breaking my neck jamming out to speech impediment and barbarian. Absolutely awesome album even if the songs are parts mashed together.
Messengers is my favorite album by them, and I saw them at a very small festival on the Messengers 10 year anniversary tour in Europe in 2017. I was like 5 meters away from the stage, so sick. JB even jumped off the stage and played for like a minute among us, the crowd (I forget which song it was, but it was toward the end of the album.) After the show they did a meet-n-greet/signing kinda thing in a small tent, and we went up and talked to them, got CDs signed, took pics with them, they were such amazing humans! So cool. Jake, humble as fuck, but I mean all of them, too. A good 10 mins after we walked away, I'm standing with my friends, and one of them's like "Yo, isn't that Brent?", and it was, indeed, Brent walking by. And I just walked up to Brent and started talking with him. I hope he wasn't bothered, but I was so happy he was talking to me. He said he was going to get a chimney cake, because that was one of his favorite things to do when they're here in Europe. He said something along the lines of this probably not being a good idea, because he had just lost weight, but oh well, lol. And I stood in line with him for it and he straight up just chit-chatted with me for a solid 5 mins. I left him alone after that, but man, this was easily one of the top 3 nights of my life. For all of the above. I love these guys.
Shoefly Pie! I love being from Pennsylvania and growing up 45 mins from these metalcore conglomerates! One the other hand....where was Jake, Dustin, and Matt??? And really sucks the Chameleon Club is gone...
These podcast get me through work but also inspire me hearing the stories of these guys, wanting to start a band myself but don’t know how to do it, just got my electric drumset and my guitar and amp and that’s it lol
Them saying their riffs are annoying had me chuckling because I have been playing their songs on guitar for years and I still screw up parts of songs to this day lol
I just saw ABR a month ago in Pensacola…I’m 43 and my biggest regret of the night was not bringing some 800mg ibuprofen in my pocket 😜🤣😎 Thankfully I had some in the car.
Garza is awesome. He's not only in one of the most influential bands in metal, but his podcast has the best guest's. These pod casts are what gets me through work. Thanks garza
Thank's Matt! We help each other get through the day. Hope you enjoy the EP. -GaЯza

Hell yea man agreed 100%
Yea Garza is awesome!! Been a massive fan of suicide silence for years, just some good dudes that are into good heavy music. JB and Brent are awesome too, phenomenal guitarists and August Burns Red are imo still giants of the genre. All that hard work paid off
Get He is Legend on this pod dude!

Second that.
I always related to them with their preppy clean cut look. It was a change of pace listening to their sound and them not wearing all black
I can't believe JB mentioned Too Bad You're Beautiful. That was my gateway album, and is probably still my favorite album of all time.
Love the podcast. Let’s get Mike Shinoda!
Dahm Daniel. That could sic! -GaЯza
Garza is the metal podcast King!!!! Thanks Homie!!!
I remember hearing ABR for the first time. I was getting my first tattoo from a buddy of mine and he was playing Composure. I was blown away, WHAT IS THAT? Sure enough I’ve been a fan ever since.
"Your mind is the mountain before you. You've reached the summit, now transcend the skies."
That line will always stick with me
Gosh, and that's just a small piece of the pie when it comes to their lyrical genius.
@Jackson Cowdrey Im not a religious person by any means. However, I went through a christian metalcore/hardcore phase like a lot of 90's hardcore kids. More China cymbals
It was so damn loud in the mix haha I loved it though. Second favorite ABR album next to constellations.
Iconic sound TBH, love or hate it
check out some slam for more china xD
Everyone says more cowbell, I say more CHINA
we are loyal fans because you guys put out amazing music. ABR 4life
First time I watch one of these. ABR is great and its great to see the guys sit down and talk to someone.
I got to meet Bleed From Within and ABR and their show in Cincinnati, they were all amazing!
Some of the realest dudes in their scene, awesome to see how consistent they have been in their career!
I absolutely love these guys. They were my top band on Spotify this year with over 7500 minutes of listening time. I was the top .05 percent of listeners. Once you discover them, you can’t get enough of them
these dudes look great on their age...
considering the wear and tear no sleep on tour holy hell..
Yo Garza. Love these podcasts. Finally have a metal podcast I can listen to with all the modern upcoming and old school bands. Now I have another pod to actually look forward to on Mondays. Love it man. PLEASE keep em coming! Much love
Hey dude! Thats the goal. I want to combine the modern bands with the old school legends. Both sides have great stories. -GaЯza
@@GarzaPodcast I just subscribed I'm in 2 metal bands ones bout to embark on our first tour these podcasts are gunna help
It's insane to me how well ABR remembers their tours haha.

wow purevolume! I found a lot of bands on that back in the day, Demon Hunter and A Thousand Times Repent I think for sure

I definitely hear that between the buried and me influence in track 2, "the cleansing." This new record is a 10, man.
