      Ragnar...you have no idea what the Bible teaches. There's a difference between reading the Bible and then you have the audacity to say what it teaches. Ragnar you are worshipping Satan, I know it's hard to believe, but it's true.
      Check Jesus out, I'm sure you'd like him. He loves you and he is waiting to be a part of your life.

    • @danielbarrios266
      @danielbarrios266 9 лет назад

      Yet you did not provide evidence to any of your claims towards Jesus. All your arguments were based on opinions and general knowledge of what you've learned from others. You just ended up embarrassing yourself
      Jesus did not come for the Jews only. In he Bible it says that he came for the "Sinners"
      Also, you just proved my point that Jesus exist. You said that I'm worshipping "Satan" your statement shows that you acknowledge the existence of Satan and Jesus. Nice one buddy.
      God is not evil. God is loving and although your life isn't for him, he still loves you. I only hope that you can realize it before its too late

    • @danielbarrios266
      @danielbarrios266 9 лет назад

      I understand your view on how eternity in hell is harsh, but you have to remember, God gives us the chance to to enter heaven by simply accepting Jesus.
      Ragnar I'm not saying you are going to hell, because you are still alive and still have a chance to live for Jesus. But I'm trying to tell you that if one day you die, and your are judged by God, you can't complain if you are sent to hell because you had you WHOLE life to accept Jesus.
      I have read Job, in fact, that is my favorite story of he Bible. Remember that Satan did all these terrible things to Job, not God. The reason God allowed it was because he was testing Job to see if he would have enough faith to worship God through all the hardships.
      Satan said, "Job only worships you because you bless him with all these good things" and God knew this wasn't true, so he let Satan see for himself.
      Job was an amazing example of how we should live our lives. He proved that if you don't turn your back against God, God will bless you greatly

    • @danielbarrios266
      @danielbarrios266 9 лет назад +1

      Well God did give permission for Satan to kill Jobs family. You have to keep in mind that God is the master creator and his logic is very different from ours, so we humans will never see eye to eye on certain things.
      "The god of the bible is an evil manipulative prick and I'm glad he does not exist."
      I'm sorry, explain to me how you know what a Good God should do? Did you write the "How Gods should act" book? No you didn't and you didn't use scripture to prove a statement, you only used scripture to convey your opinion on how God is "Evil"
      You said I haven't provided evidence however that is not be case. I've explained what the meaning of every scripture you have brought up, and because I have studied them, you can see me as credible.
      God is not maniputive, he has no reason to, I mean he's God, he can do such much better than that. God loves is, and he wants to have a relationship with us, unlike many false Gods like Allah or Odin, etc.
      God didn't kill those 150 people on the train. But God does use tragedies to start something beautiful.

    I was an athiest for about 17 years or so. I was blown away cuz his story is so much like mine. I was an addict and suicidal and I was just kind of like "god if you're real I need to know cuz I can't do this" and he came and saved me. this story is crazy. I got set free from addiction, depression, etc. anybody wanna talk about Jesus?

      I recovered from addiction by finding coping skills and other people who were very alienated by the casually forced acceptance of a god beneath the guise of spiritual mumbo jumbo. Leaning on "jesus, " is the same as using narcotics. It's merely a legal yet HIGHLY lethal drug that people accept. It contorts their mind into believing a dead Jew can do all the things for you if you ask him. If we changed the names people would not fall for any of this. It's so very disappointing to find that a band you enjoy has been duped by this idea of life eternal. Unfortunately that life isn't for everybody because Jesus was created in the horribly imperfect mind of the common man.

      I'm not addict. I was brought up in a Catholic school, didn't really care about it. But one day I had feelings of wanting to be a Christian, don't know why, still don't. So I went to the same catholic school I grew up in and went to the church. Above the alter was a big statue of christ.i look up at it started crying like I was forgiven for my sins which I committed and I felt like was loved. A feeling which I never felt. It also helps with my mental illness

    Uno. Im not Religious at all. Never saw anything in any religion. After listening to ABR recently and reading their lyrics started to make me realize what being christian REALLY is and made me extremely interested in Jake Luhrs . After watching this and a few other interviews with him and knowing how he takes it upon himself every gig to talk genuinely with his fans , hearing Jake talk about God and Jesus and hearing his story really inspired me. It really changed my opinion on religion, mainly Christianity. I wish every Christian had a similar mind set as him. He understands it and isnt materialistic and smug about it. Good words Jake, Thanks. I hope to catch some insight from you in person one day.

    I stopped the heavy drinking and don't drink as much as I did less than 6 months ago. But whenever I drink it brings me to a need for Christ and it's hard to get that need sober. It's a shame that all these people are mocking God. It's not something to joke about. It doesn't matter what your faith is, you HAVE faith. Whether it's faith that there is a God, or faith that there isn't.
    Once you truly experience a relationship with God, there's nothing better, and it's honestly heartbreaking that so many people don't get to to a part in that.

    • @majikmooses

    • @patrickdaugherty1259
      @patrickdaugherty1259 9 лет назад

      The definition of faith is "complete trust or confidence in something or someone". Therefore, if you have "true confidence" that there is no God, are you or are you not putting your FAITH in that decision? Believing that there is no God is still having a faith. Which is exactly what I said in my first comment.

    I had the EXACT same experience as Jake, and that was months before i ever saw this video. i always would talk and pray to God but never felt a growing relationship. Then one day when I was having a "bad" day, i called out to Jesus, and i had the same feeling, right to my soul, and i couldn't stop smiling, and my relationship with them began to grow. So for those of you who are unsure, trust me, He's there and he's waiting for you. He is helping me everyday and he will help you.

    I don't understand why people act like being a Christian is something that takes all your freedom away from you. Obeying God isn't as hard as people think. Maybe if you atheists actually tried to be a Christian and Obey God, then you would realize that it isn't hard. God wants you to live without sinning and even if you mess up and sin, God will forgive you because he knows you aren't perfect and that you are trying to live like he tells you. And have you noticed that all the sins you commit don't gain you anything. Doing drugs is only going to make you unhealthy. Lying only causes more problems unless you are trying to protect somebody. Cursing makes you sound like you are too unintelligent to use any other words to express your feelings. All the other sins don't gain you anything either because when your life is over, those sins will have meant nothing. Being sinless will better you as a person and if you don't believe me try it. I used to not be close with God at all and didn't think it would matter even if I was but when I started obeying God, I realized it truly makes you a better person and that it isn't that hard.

    • @ricardoribeiro9189
      @ricardoribeiro9189 9 лет назад

      I'm not trying to be disrespectful or anything, I don't believe in God because to me it doesn't makes sense, as metalskatelife said above, it is flawed. Why should you obey someone or something if you are not here by your own will? I can practice good and don't "sin" all my life and don't believe in God at the same time, why should I need him? Also, if he forgives everything what is the point of trying? Why should people put any efforts in that if they end up being forgiven? There are too many questions without logic answers that don't add up to me. Even if I tryed, I could not live in that lie.

    • @calebbegley3833
      @calebbegley3833 9 лет назад

      Ricardo Ribeiro Actually, God makes ton of sense. God created you with the sense to be able to choose between good and evil. I'm glad that you are practicing good, but if you do good and don't believe that God is there, than ultimately that good has made no difference but if you believe in God then you have made an eternal difference. We put effort into being good and following God's laws because we love Him and we respect Him. That's why we call Him, "Father." Because He is a father to us. Now, the way that you are talking sounds like the entire process of confession preached about by the Roman Catholic Church, which I believe to be absolutely, biblically incorrect. You can't live your life exactly how you want to and break everything and say, "oh, I'm going to sin here and here and here but it won't matter because God forgives me." That's not how it works. God is not a vending machine. Sure, He forgives us, but only if we make some conscious effort to do good knowing that, as human beings, we will slip up. And, knowing that, that's why we need Him every single day. Nobody is perfect, but I choose to believe in a God who is.

    When I had terrible depression I went into my room at like 3 am and felt so empty and numb. At that moment I was so desperate for love that I cried out "God, I can't do this without You. This life is too difficult, too large, and too hateful for me to go alone. I'm so broken and cold, I need a filling love, something eternal. I don't want to take another step without knowing that you'll be with me 200%."
    "Please God, come back."
    Then I heard "I never left you, and I never will."

    I feel that is a point that God is trying to drive home. I always here something along the lines of "Oh you think God is real? Why don't you go talk to kids in Africa about Him" or "Oh sure those prayers are really going to help starving kids in Africa." The thing is, we are supposed to do everything we can to help those in need. This means that we need to give money, food, or supplies along with our prayers to keep them safe and healthy.

      +JCmasters100 Well I don't know.. I'm pretty sure anyone that believes in a 2000 year old talking snake, and leads their life based on century old beliefs, is more likely autistic than someone who can rationalize reality beyond their parents brainwashing them - just like your parents before you, and grandparents before them.
      People that read a book bashing the gay community are more likely autistic. People that banish others to hell for using their brain and eyes are more than likely the autistic ones.
      While you spend your time on your knees praying to the air - I'm using that time to try and help the planet (rather than think my beliefs are the only correct ones.)
      All you "caring Christians" are putting on a front to get into heaven. So selfish.
      I'd rather burn in hell for my own beliefs, than sit in heaven for someone else's.
      Now what I find is really funny here, is the fact that bone of you guys came up with this yourself. It's just hand fed shit from your parents who were hand fed the same shit..
      Anyone can have a "feeling" come over them, because we have central nervous system with a brian attached (which ironically is attached to your emotion) weird right?

      You know, I'm a Christian, and I will admit I was born into the faith, because my dad's a pastor, but for the last 8 or so years I have really been an atheist until God got ahold of me. But, what I like is how you said "don't infringe upon other's beliefs." There are radical Christians who would love it if they could force the entire world to be Christians, but then there are radical atheists who would love to force the entire world to turn away from God. Now, as a Christian, I believe that it is my duty to spread Jesus to the world, but not to force others to believe the way I do. That's not what Jesus did.

    Jake, this is definitely why you are one of my idols. I may not be a vocalist, but I hope to be in a Christian metal band as a bassist, and I look to you all as inspirations. It's not just ABR I look up to; there's TDWP, there's AILD (well, everyone but Tim, I suppose), there's Impending Doom...man, I sound like such a fanboy. I just thank you for doing what you do, Jake and everyone else in ABR; your lyrics have really resonated with me. I hope to meet you in real life one day and say that. :)

    I said that because my Dad passed away about 5 weeks ago and am so confused. The music is the only tool keeping me from giving up on my faith. I am so angry at what has unfolded.

    You are correct, I won't be changing anyone's mind. All I have to do is plant the seed of doubt, that wisp of a notion that gods and religion don't explain anything or help you in any way. People will change their own minds. All I will have to do is sit back and watch.

    "I chose Jesus - Jake Luhrs von August Burns Red (Interview) " you come to this video knowing it's going to be filled with other believers yet you still want to argue? go watch some videos with an atheist talking about how nothing created a whole world with intelligent life if you don't want to hear us

    I asked God to show me He was real. I was a kid laying on my big trampoline in my backyard. I was looking up at the sky and I asked God if he was real to show me a shooting star. Seconds later one flew over my head. I will never forget it. I now play in a Christian metal band and its 15 years later.

    i am not christian. i am not of any particular religion. but i love what Jake has said here, because i can relate to it. i had a lack of faith in God. i wanted to believe, but simply could not... but when I prayed to him in desperation for him to show me he was real, he did. at 4:58 Jake sums it up perfectly. no giant jesus face, no parting clouds, I just knew.

    Als ich mein Motorradführerschein machte bekam ich von meiner Oma ein Kreuz welches schon längerer Zeit in unserer Familie gehört. Dieses Kreuz habe ich immer beim Motorradfahren in meiner Tasche. Eines Tages bin ich mit dem Motorrad mit ca 80km/h in der Kurve audgerutscht. Glücklicherweise bin ich in einem frisch gemähtem weichem Feld gelandet. Kein Kratzer, kein blauer Fleg. Mein 2. Sturzt folgte nach ca einem 3/4 Jahr. wieder keine große Verletzungen. Danke

    This guy knows what god is all about.Its not about going to church every Sunday, and abiding by his rules because he wants to control your life.Its not about living a sinless life and "earning" your way into heaven.It's not about being in the right religious CULT. Its about being friends with him, trusting him,loving him.If you have a sinful problem that you cant stop, don't try and stop it,god will open your eyes and show you the truth and change you to never want to do it again,if you ask him.

    I'm an atheist and I'm a huge fan of these guys. Met them the other day and they are incredibly nice and humble. They're not the first Christian band so it's wrong to demonize them especially because they're good people.

      +The Underwater Podcast it is your duty as a Christian not to convince others, but to at least inform them, so that they may not sit before the throne on judgment day and say to god "I never knew, I never heard, nobody told me".

    You are, yet corrupt the worlds idea of who You are because they don't have You in their heart and reflect Your character, You will reveal yourself to this person and place people in his/her path that You truly live in, that truly desire Your heart, because Father we need Your Spirit, we need the consolation of Your beautiful voice speaking to our hearts. We are empty, if we claim to love you but do not seek You, if we claim your mercy over our lives but don't live in Your Spirit, we are still

    Its not about choosing pain or God. We all live through pain no matter what path we choose. Its about choosing to live through that pain with faith that God will help us through it. There's also a choice to be made, and that choice is "Would you rather live for yourself and have you're fill of whatever pleasure you can create, or would you rather trust that God will help you through the pain and you receive your reward in Heaven. God will not drag you into heaven while you refuse to follow him.
