Hope Marianne recovers quickly, and the journey can continue without unwanted circumstances.... Lesson learn for the day, keep eyes peel and attentive whilst walking around. Slippery grounds, uneven solid surfaces,...etc. And probably a basic first aid box just in case.
Awwh thank you - we do carry the comprehensive medical kit from Trudy - including blood / burns kits and dressings - but Chris is not great with blood - so I thought it best to get to a hospital as there was one in town. 🌺
You guys are the sweetest couple. I climbed Mt. Kinabalu when I was 26 with a group of friends. When we got to the top the mountain, the sun was setting, the most beautiful view! I have fond memories of my visit. I love Sabah, haven't been there in a while, would love to go back someday!
You are inspiring me. I plan to fly to Jakarta in April and meet my Indonesian ex wife. We are still great friends and both love travelling and exploring. Malaysia was beautiful, Borneo was fantastic, in Sulawesi we had relatives, Lombok and Gilli Islands were just heaven. Pramuka Island in the Java sea was a real adventure, we travelled on a wooden fishing boat, the island had no electricity after 6pm each day, but that added to the charm. So I am gearing up for my next adventure. Stay safe, travel well and excellent content.
Kid, he is truly a beast. With all that expensive upgrades. You need keep an eyes on it. And also if you happens to stop at the roadside in the middle of the night for a rest or sleep. Please dont. Because theres a quite many cars that people left at the roadside because of overheating or etc. And the next morning their car parts got stolen. Just for your reminder and safety. Im not trying to make my Sabah sounds like a dengerous place to be in..but hey every countries is dangerous right? Be safe, From, Victor.
Had to use the local doctors when staying on Langkawi in 2023 and they were superb. Woke up one morning and had trouble breathing due to a very inflamed throat, probably caused by air conditioning (that's what the doctor said it was likely to be). They prescribed me with some antibiotics and a throat spray and within a couple of days felt better. Glad to hear yours wasn't too serious too.
Very nice truck for your travels and I am happily surprised at the generous loan. Very good people you meet along the way. Sorry about Marriane's injury. I pray you will heal quickly 🙏 ❤
19:56 That first drive home in a new car! 😂 I'm so grateful for your friend caring enough to make the phone call that got you a suitable vehicle. Woo hoo!😊
Hello beautiful people…thank you for opening your heart to explore our mother land…welcome and experience the beautiful nature and the hospitality of our people…❤❤❤
Wishing Marianne a speedy recovery. Handy having a hospital so close by. Thanks for a great video, looks like Kit will take good care of you on this adventure, stay safe!
Thank you - yes feeling much better and the staff were great !! Kitt has been a godsend and we are so lucky to get to work with such a cool brand - thanks Ian - Kind regards Marianne
Greetings, Sarawakian here. Dear Marianne, please take care and I really hope you get well soon and please take heeds wherever you go, its rainy season recently in Malaysia, particularly Borneo. I’m happy that both of you enjoyed the local hospitality in Borneo and I’m my fellow people served you well. Warm greetings and welcomes for both of you lovely couple. Have a great and beautiful day ahead.
Get well soon Marianne what a brave soldier you are blood pouring from the head wound and you were so stoic as if it were nothing. Heal quickly Maashallah.
So good to see you on the road. Loved the walk in the forest to see those amazing flowers - what a privilege. I am amazed at how much advice people give when you’re the ones actually living the adventure, and have proven over and over how well you do it 😂 My advice is simple - get some cheap shower caps to put over your muddy boots to protect Kitt as you get in x
Good to see you both once again! Sorry to hear of your mishap, Marianne…..fortunately, you got some quick and appropriate treatment. Best of luck going forward! 🔅🔆🔅
Drive carefully if you're travelling to Sabah East coast through Sandakan as the Pan Borneo Highway is still under construction and there are many temporary detours along the way. Stay safe 🙏.
Speedy recovery, Marianne ,As for driving Kitt, you definitely got this Marianne 😊You drove around the World!!! Safe travels and so excited to watch your new adventures, ❤.
I was on needles where you had injured yourself Marianne !!! On that guided tour I thought it happened so needless to say I wasn’t happy you walked into that thing but I hurt my head the same way on a shelf abouvr the couch once and I was fine after a while like I hope you’re doing too! That vehicle is awesome and the right car for you who are the coolest people on earth in my book so happy you’re back ❤❤
We’re so sorry for Marianne's head injury. Wishing you a speedy recovery .You’ll be feeling healthy and strong again soon! Take extra good care of yourself
Oh no, Poor Marianne! I hope it heals quickly. Also, I must say, how happy I am that you're back!! I've truly missed spending my Sunday mornings with you ❤
Marianne, sooo glad you received medical treatment at the hospital and are OK to continue your travel journey. Wow !!! It was very special so many people recognized you both from your vlogs, the love for you both was sooo lovely to see. I have traveled just one day with you, on this Borneo 4 - wheel drive Kit beast vehicle and already Amazing!!!!!! and this was just day one
Hi Guys! What a result with the vehicle! In 1997 I drove most of borneo and Sarawak filming a nature documentary about Tarantulas for about 6/7 weeks in a suzuki van like the Sooty and Sweep van! lol 😂 What an adventure! I miss Borneo big time so i'll be watching and drooling with jealousy! Nightmare with the injury Marianne 🤦 you have to be incredibly careful with open wounds in the jungle!!! Stay safe and happy travels to the both of you x JP
I wish you a speedy and complete recovery, Marianne. Furthermore, I encourage you to utilize the advanced features of the pickup truck's integrated infotainment system. Connecting via Bluetooth allows for seamless mirroring and casting of your phone's navigation, music, and other applications, significantly enhancing the driving experience. Lots of love from Cumbria, UK!
Marianne & Chris I am so happy for you receiving the latest 4 Wheel Drive best quality car to freely use, to enable safety for you to drive around Borneo on your new jungle adventure Absolutely Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!
thank you for bringing us in your journey. im Malaysian but i still have a lot to learn about it. i just known that the rafflesia only lives for 5-7 days and it needs a host to even survive. have a save journey and speedy recovery to Marianne edit: Ranau is pronounced "ra" "now"
Thank you - we will, we love Sabah and have been many times since 2012 - we are excited to share all of our friends here and special places that we go to, but also see new places and meet new people as we self drive - and then on to Sarawak and Brunei !! Woo Hoo
Glad Marianne is okay. Got worried for her looking at the video's title. She did such a great job driving that beast of a car. Good job Marianne! Hope to see more videos of your Borneo adventure in Kit.
Oh man, glad Marianne is ok. Maybe you finally figured it out, but those handles or grab bars by the windsheld edge can be used to help you get into such a high vehicle. You grab the bar to lift yourself into the seat. Looking forward to your next episode!!!!
The small town area that you passed by (the roundabout with the ginger near speedmart99) is called Tambunan. You turned left to Ranau, turning right would bring you to Tambunan town (another 15 minutes) then to Keningau and then Tenom (where they process the delicious coffee you drank at Guramboi - Yit Foh Tenom Coffee). From Keningau you can drive back to KK through the Kimanis road (a bit steep). From Keningau you can also head to Sook - Nabawan then take the Kalabakan Road to Tawau. Get well soon Marianne! Looking forward to see more of your adventures in Sabah!
What an inspirational video. Your skill at relationship building and adjusting to circumstances make you wonderful parasocial friends. It helps that you keep a positive attitude and look good in the rain! Congratulations on your partnership with Isuzu and showing us the wonders of Kitt. Loved the flower tour.❤
Speedy recovery Marianne...!!! a little too excited maybe in Sabah.. Wishing both of you a journey filled with safe encounters and delightful surprises throughout your travels..♥🇲🇾
Marianne get well soon…please be cautious with the street floor now day is raining session and yes, mostly our street mosaic is super slippery and you have to walk like penguin sometimes..with small steps just drag your slippers without lifting your feet…you will find traction and balance on your walk..this is my practice…well I living on the equator 😁
I had an Isuzu 4WD pickup in the 1990s. It was great! I did a lot of off-road in it. It was very dependable. (It did not have all of the electronics or extras. It had AC and a good radio) I'm excited for you.
So sorry Marianne is hurt. Good job having it treated in hospital quickly. Both of you looked right at home with Kit. Safe travels, take care in wet weather, looking forward to next video.❤
with a big smile on my face, you drove all the way through India, which even from my arm chair, scared me to death, then you go and bang your head on an air conditioner. Get better and thank you again for your wonderful films. Sunday would not be Sunday without you.
Guys love it your back and made up with the transport you both deserve the treat. Cannot wait to follow your adventures, hope you recover quickly Marianne 🤕. Chris great vlogs as always , we have missed you both on our Sundays.❤
Yikes about Marianne getting hurt there. It's a good thing you have travel insurance AND are pretty well known. Seems like everyone has seen your videos! I love the view of the rainforest. There's something so magical about the mist and trees though i'm sure driving through all that was a little hair raising. Kudos on the name of the car there. I definitely hummed the Knight Rider theme in my head :)
Oh no, hope all is well and wish you quick recovery. Just a note try not to engage 4x4 while on road, it can cause difficulty steering as the wheels can't spin independently locked in 4x4 mode so going around corners reduces steering capabilities.
If you realise, borneo Malaysia and peninsular Malaysia traditional architecture are actually quite different where many longhouse are constructed in sabah and sarawak where more individual houses are built in peninsular
Loved this video - forgot how much i missed yr travel vids. Sounds like Chris should be signing up for a quick 1 day first aid course when he gets to NZ. You cant travel without health insurance OR a few first aids skllls. Chris’s face after assessing the wound - priceless. Hope it heals quickly.
28:46 this part reminded me of the famous Forrest Gump quote: “One day it started raining, and it didn't quit for four months. We been through every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin' rain...and big ol' fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath. Shoot, it even rained at night...”

You are inspiring me. I plan to fly to Jakarta in April and meet my Indonesian ex wife. We are still great friends and both love travelling and exploring. Indonesia was such a fantastic place, my ex was from Lombok😅... really miss Indonesia 😢
Good work to all Ranau Hospital Staff. Keep it up.

Now I know why Isuzu is so popular in Borneo - tough trucks for rough terrain. Go, Kit !!!

GWS Marianne. Welcome back to our lovely Malaysia. Safe journey
So fun that you guys are recognized.
As a Malaysian, I just found out that rafflesia is called bunga pakma in Malay. All this time, I've been calling it bunga rafflesia. 😮
It is ! I just know it by Pakma when i hike at Mount Chamah and one of the basecap name as Pakma and i ask why? They show me the flower 😅 silly me!.
Glad Marianne is okay. Got worried for her looking at the video's title. She did such a great job driving that beast of a car. Good job Marianne! Hope to see more videos of your Borneo adventure in Kit.

So sorry Marianne is hurt. Good job having it treated in hospital quickly. Both of you looked right at home with Kit. Safe travels, take care in wet weather, looking forward to next video.❤
Holy smokes. What a wicked kool vehicle.
Hope Marianne is on the mend. Our DMax was the best fun ever and a brilliant 4x4. We've had Jeeps, Landies, but the Isuzu was ace. Enjoy. X
with a big smile on my face, you drove all the way through India, which even from my arm chair, scared me to death, then you go and bang your head on an air conditioner. Get better and thank you again for your wonderful films. Sunday would not be Sunday without you.
Ha Ha - when you say it like that .... Yes I walked into an air con unit LOL 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hi guys, great video again ! Sorry about Marianne’s injury. Have to say though, she did remind me of Basil Fawlty with that head bandage 😆
Ha Ha - that is hilarious and yes you are right !!
Guys love it your back and made up with the transport you both deserve the treat. Cannot wait to follow your adventures, hope you recover quickly Marianne 🤕. Chris great vlogs as always , we have missed you both on our Sundays.❤

Oh no, hope all is well and wish you quick recovery. Just a note try not to engage 4x4 while on road, it can cause difficulty steering as the wheels can't spin independently locked in 4x4 mode so going around corners reduces steering capabilities.
So nice that you are on the road again... loving it!
If you realise, borneo Malaysia and peninsular Malaysia traditional architecture are actually quite different where many longhouse are constructed in sabah and sarawak where more individual houses are built in peninsular
Can't wait to watch your series of your new adventure. I missed your travel videos.
Thank you - we are deffo back !!
Many food RUclipsrs really love our roti canai!
On salads... "it's really good" says Chris passing it back quickly to Marianne.
Speedy recovery Marianne, take care and be safe always. Enjoy your stay in Sabah, looking forward to meet you guys when you come to Kuching.
Great outing, take care both of you.Enjoy your trip.
28:46 this part reminded me of the famous Forrest Gump quote:
“One day it started raining, and it didn't quit for four months. We been through every kind of rain there is. Little bitty stingin' rain...and big ol' fat rain. Rain that flew in sideways. And sometimes rain even seemed to come straight up from underneath. Shoot, it even rained at night...”
Love this
WOW! Kickass, Badass, Awesome car. You are very lucky.
That doesn't look like an Aircond unit. It looks like an electrical distribution cabinet or something similar.
Speedy recovery, Marianne. Wish you both a memorable trip round Sabah.
'AWAS' actually means 'CAUTION' or "WATCH OUT' in English, FYI. Anyway, have a safe journey guys.
good luck on the rest of your adventures🤎
