I think running a basic campaign makes sense but I'd love to see one with starships from Bold Endeavour integrated sometime.

I've been playing with Fatewinders and Timewalkers mostly as my Captains/First Mates. I also love Mystics and Psionicists.
For the crew I am a major fan of the Bruisers. (Free guys with just melee weapons.)

Looking forward to this series. What is the play surface for solo games 2 x 2 or 3 x 3?

I use 3x3 for Stargrave and Frostgrave, but sometimes I use 2x2 if I want a faster game. These videos will use 3x3.

From 'Dead or Alive' - " Every scenario takes place on a 2.5 x 2.5’ table...".
That said, I still play on a 3x3 as my play table is a 5x3, so it's much easier, work's just fine!

Question , I thought Stargrave was a vs game ?
Are you going to use ai rules for the opposition or are these mission specifically solo?

You can play Stargrave or Frostgrave solo... the solo rules are in one of the expansions. I can't recall which.
