Lame the guy abandoned his family for 21 years, and only 10 days journey from home? He could not send word or visit home even once? I don't see him as inspiring, I see him as abandoning his wife and son.
@@barbarabrown9269 You are right, but poverty made them separate for 21 years which is definitely very harsh. The fact that they were faithful to each other - Hats off to both of them. I salute them. GOD ALMIGHTY BLESS THEM WITH TOGETHERNESS.

Unless the wife stayed with a generous relative, the story never said. Maybe her family didn’t want him leaching off them, who knows. Anyway, this is just dumb. Not worthy of praise. Why didn’t the husband want a salary each week????? Send some back to the pregnant wife??

Is that all loyalty is? What about caring for her? He worked 25 years refusing a salary!!!! Maybe he found a way to keep himself, but why abandon a pregnant, or any wife, for that matter? Then he comes back and expects her to be all lovey dovey happy to see him, after their individual hardships. No one is ever the same person after much time. This is pure fantasy.

So: 1. Man leaves Wife with nothing to die of Starvation: 2. Man steals from others for 21 years, whilst saving all his wages; 3. Wife lies to husband about child, as if husband is gone for twenty-one years, his son could only be 20 years old (as birth is up to 9months after pregnancy) rather than 21 years old; 4. Woman cons husband into adopting somebody else's child without telling the truth as husband now has money to spend. Not much of a moralistic story really ... !!! 😂
