Guys, these podcasts are outstanding. Down to earth, and full of good factual content and learning. Really appreciate the art and craftsmanship you all approach your jobs with. Just that alone makes me want to buy from you.
I'm glad you brought up that bipod. I recently grabbed one with a lot of hesitation due to the price tag. It is so convenient to have the ability to lay down or lean up against a hill/tree without having to mess with shooting sticks. Fantastic piece of gear!
12:05 Just a heads up, the Area419 Hellfire suppressor adapters do not use the taper for alignment. They use the flat shoulder of the hellfire mount bottoming out inside the adapter. The reason for this is that the pitch of the taper is too steep to allow it to be used for alignment, it was designed to prevent slippage of the Hellfire muzzle brakes when they are being tightened down using the collar and would seize up if you try and thread something over them. That isn't to say they aren't well aligned and repeatable, there is just no metal to metal contact with the hellfire mount (only the O-ring) to achieve that.
No way, I was literally thinking about this today at work. They should do a rife setup vid for Seth and have maybe Jayden or Preston interview him lol. Get home from work and find exactly that waiting in the queue. I really like this series, its fun to see how each of you do your rifles and the thought process behind it.
I like the saying--I thought about this way back---like 2019--2020. And this has been my hobby since I was like 12--I built my first rifle at 17in 1992--I have been through many iterations--and still have not found "it"--but I'll keep trying
Great looking rig sir. I have that same optic on a 6.5 PRC. I wanted the 4-18 in the Mark 4HD, but Leupold was out of stock and went with the 6. Now that I have it, I know it was the right optic.
Perfect, if it is mine I would be keeping the scope in the 3x or 4x to 14x or 16x. My areas are mixed woods and some medium distance. And my personal limit is about 400 yards. I practice at my club to 800 but I am almost 60 and I have some disability from combat service and my hands are not as steady as they once were. I would not try past 250 without a good reset of some sort. Thanks for your thorough process through this, gives me things to think about.
I have a SBR 300 BO bolt rifle with an 11” barrel. I’d like to see a 338 ARC shorty bolt gun build. The 300 BO Sub X is deadly on deer…..can’t wait to see more on the 338 ARC!
i dont use a bore snake in lieu of a proper cleaning, but like to pull one thru a couple times with some sort of CLP between cleanings just to mitigate risk of rust inside my barrel
Sweet rig. Glad to hear you say “head height.” That might be a good term to buil a podcast around. What is it? Why should we care? How does it affect my rifle?
Edit: also Seth, you should give Bix'N Andy triggers a try if you haven't already Stiller! Haven't heard that name in decades. First custom actions I ever handled and ran (but never owned) were a Stiller and a Surgeon, both in M24 clones. Beautiful actions. Also, I want one of those new Mark IV 6-24s! Super interested in that scope for my multipurpose target rifle.
@@RealHankShillthanks for holding up for hornady, they are good people. I thought i would leave a comment in a loving way, directly to them. Thanks for your side bar imput, i do appreciate bro. "I mean hank"
6.5prc waypoint razor lht vickers sling flimsy magpul bipod and sap 2rd holder..156gr extreme hunters over retumbo and 210m primers in hornady cases. Have 23 firings on 2 I’ve been keepin track of since 1st factory bx I bought for it. Love 7mm ands my 1st love so this build I certainly like Seth…oh..they come with TT factory and I turned it low as it’ll go but have no gauge to see.👊🏻lotta hornady in my stable many yrs.
Oh I load the 95gr v max in prc with h4350 and get 3600fps with .5” groups when I hold still. Super light. Talk about wicked round. Try some carefully and shoot a jug
How does that mark 4HD track? I really like the feature set but am hesitant given lots of reports of tracking accuracy/consistency issues (leupold generally but also the mk4 and mk5 series specifically).
i know you want to have a diverse variety of rifle setups showcased (and i do too) but i think its ok to be a little repetitive because it gives viewers valuable information about what the consensus is
When you say that you jotted some numbers down, where did you come up with that data? Meaning, which program did you use so you could get velocity and energy comparisons… And why isn’t it (the calculator) on the website?
7mm prc ya no thanks. Gonna have a 7 SAUM built. Or I'll go with a 7 Rem Mag. Thanks Reloading Weatherby for shining the light on 7 PRC vs 7 Rem Mag and 6/8 Western.
I think he said 1 in 8. When he was talking about the engraving and the "Say When," he quickly mentioned what was on the other side. Without going back to look for it, I'm pretty sure he said 1 in 8.
As much as I like your podcasts, I hate your webpage. Why can’t you put your bullets in a simple comparison chart for better overview? I don’t want to find dealer in the first place, I want to find my bullet that suits me.
Hahahahaha, I have an 8lb scope bipod suppressor, strap 6,5CM 24", 1:8 carbon on carbon, thicker profile, 0.6MOA with dirty Hornady factory ammo for 1/4 the price of numbnuts gun. He is definitely losing 300fps and a whack of ftlb's. I call this over-thinking whilst underqualified! Sorry guys, my 270, 6.5PRC and 7PRC and 300WSM are all 27".
It’s funny, they build the round based on a 24” barrel and then tell the rifle industry that it’s okay to standardize 22” barrel for the 7PRC. Browning is the only factory gun with a 26” barrel…hopefully Tikka won’t screw this up with a shot barrel

In my personal opinion we need to see all the rifles! Keep em coming
I agree!
That bottom metal and mag looks good!

Let’s see the 22’s
Woo hoo! This is the one I’ve been waiting for. Sweet rig Seth!
Need to see all the 22 creedmoor builds
Great job fellas! You made the roll reversal funny!
Excellent rifle Seth!
I'd like to see bolt action 22ARC builds. Keep em comin!

Enjoying these rifle breakdown episodes. One suggestion, drop in some pics of the rifles so we can get a better look at everything.
Yes bring on the 22creeds! Let's see Seth's 257 bob too lol
Nice to see then on the metaphorical other side of the table!
Finally nice to see Seth on the other side of the table haha! Great rifle build! Waiting for my PR 7 PRC barrel to spin onto my similar setup.

What were the other proposed 7PRC names? You left us hanging with that one.
7mm STP aka Slower than Promised
@texpatriot8462 I've never heard of 7mm STP, just 7STW, but that's a lot older. I'm thinking about the 6.8 western or 7PRC.
I shoot a nexus and have owned a magnus and those stocks are second to one. Great choice! Definitely a build I’d like to emulate.

Definitely loved this video and therefore recommend you reveal all the various calibres and builds
More to come!

Seth may have just lost his position, on the podcast! Ha!! Fine job guys and fantastic cartridge and rifle!
I’d like to see a contrast/comparison podcast with both of those 22 Creedmoor rifles!
I want to see the best 6ARC bolt gun a Hornady Employee has built for hunting.
Would love to see a budget build. I heard on a previous podcast sounded like a ruger America customized
🥇 Seth's 7mm PRC build has earned front row top place in my Gun Safe playlist category right here on RUclips ®️
Great show. By the way, Preston would be the perfect voice impersonator for Chris Christie.
didnt know Seth helped design the 7 prc!
Sweet rig. Glad to hear you say “head height.” That might be a good term to buil a podcast around. What is it? Why should we care? How does it affect my rifle?

Still no closeup on the featured rifle. Evidently you didn't read my comment on the last featured rifle video.
Bro, they probably already filmed 5 more videos before that one was even released and you saw it. Evidently at least.

The predictor action is opened longer than the tac 300 in the magazine area don’t know how much but it is !
How does that mark 4HD track? I really like the feature set but am hesitant given lots of reports of tracking accuracy/consistency issues (leupold generally but also the mk4 and mk5 series specifically).
I wanna see the 22 creeds
Put the Gunwerks elevate on my 7 PRC too. Other than taking forever to get I like it so far.
Let’s see some coyote rifles next.
Should show off Jacob's 338 arc bolt gun 👀
I second and third this!!
Agree, comparison of both 22 creeds!!
i know you want to have a diverse variety of rifle setups showcased (and i do too) but i think its ok to be a little repetitive because it gives viewers valuable information about what the consensus is
When you say that you jotted some numbers down, where did you come up with that data? Meaning, which program did you use so you could get velocity and energy comparisons… And why isn’t it (the calculator) on the website?
Hornady Ballistics Calculator with 4DOF. www.hornady.com/team-hornady/ballistic-calculators/#!/
Yall need to try out the maven rs1.2 2.5-15x44
It seems like 7mm PRC is the goldilocks of hunting calibers for big-game.
How about both of those 22 creedmoors that you mentioned
We need some long range coyote rifles!
What velocities is he getting from handloading?
I want to see a 6.8 creedmoor build
Bring both 22 Creedmoors and juxtaposition!
Is the 7PRC ammo fixed?
7mm prc ya no thanks. Gonna have a 7 SAUM built. Or I'll go with a 7 Rem Mag. Thanks Reloading Weatherby for shining the light on 7 PRC vs 7 Rem Mag and 6/8 Western.
Did they mention the twist rate?
I think he said 1 in 8. When he was talking about the engraving and the "Say When," he quickly mentioned what was on the other side. Without going back to look for it, I'm pretty sure he said 1 in 8.
@ thanks for responding
I've been having a lot of success with the 6.5... But I kinda of want a 7 for those longer shots. Not needed... bbbuuutttt...
6 mm prc , I know someone has one at Hornady
Bring George Gardner and his main hunting and comp rifle
I MUST HAVE THE 22CM
Waiting for the budget build…
Make components for 6.8 western. If you aren’t scared that is
Shorter barrel is less velocity. Why the short barrels??
Muzzle velocity of 2700
On my pistol I have say when air brush on the grip. Hahahaha and my bolt gun name is ole painless from predator
who has a 270 WSM?
I’m your huckleberry
Laying down hill and shooting up is the worst.
Just lie on your back
As much as I like your podcasts, I hate your webpage. Why can’t you put your bullets in a simple comparison chart for better overview? I don’t want to find dealer in the first place, I want to find my bullet that suits me.
We need 162 eldx 7 PRC ammo
I don't know about you guys but I think it's going to be a HORNYDAY .....
