Philip. I am 52 y.o. been involved in technology since 1982. Spent 6 years in the U.S. Marines. I manage a large group of technology professionals. It took me many years to accept RUclips and platforms like it as helpful and informative news. I would like to thank you for doing a great job discussing various topics that are important in the cyber world and in the real world. You bring a air of real news and information in a nice digestible package without the noise...To me you have set the standard by which all others in your category should start AND by which all others should recognized when working in their own genre. You have a fan here. All the best.
I came across Toy Freaks when reading an article about this whole situation and it made me so incredibly uncomfortable. I'm glad to hear the channel has been removed.
I just watched some video's and i really don't see what the big deal is... looks like regular child friendly content, nothing compared to the Elsa gate shit - seems like loony lefties gone mad again
Honestly. I feel kinda sick from hearing all the sick shit the parents do to the kids. What are the kids gonna think when they turn 18 and look back on the videos that were made on them? Are they gonna think it was sick? Are they gonna be ok with it? Are they gonna feel bad about it? This makes me really upset
they're going to need counselling and therapy. Most of these videos are sexually exploitive videos made by their fathers i wonder if these poor kids have been sexually abused too because i wouldn't be surprised !
Most of them probably won't think badly about it if no one tells them otherwise. Unless they felt uncomfortable helping their parents making these videos ofc.
Genji Shimada agree. You should never make a humiliating video of your child!!! Never. They should always be portrayed with dignity. The child grows up and then anyone that wants to damage his image can just search youtube. A and never put their real name
Why can’t we block channels, like RUclipsrs can block ppl from their channels - that would be we taking bigger control of what our kids can watch or not... 💖
I wish this was a feature, not just for the use case you mentioned but also so that I can block channels I don't want to see from showing up on my homepage or in my recommended tab.
Weirdly the forefront of video-on-demand streaming has less features and active development than Discord's Hammer & Chisel devteam. Which is very surprising considering the size disparity.
Elizabeth Braddock why? Because they bed a woman on each of the five levels - and they have kids - and then these little "families" have sex - the females provide breast milk before and after birth - menstral fluid when not impregnanted. They are "nannys"
I've always found the exploitation of children on RUclips disgusting. Glad to see that RUclips is doing something to stop this, however they should've never created a situation where people can legally exploit their children for money in the first place. EDIT: Figured this needed to be added, because many of your replies are clearly missing the point. We're not even talking about RUclips's content being inappropriate for children, particularly on RUclips kids. That conversation was several videos ago, catch up! We're talking about RUclips incentivizing the exploitation of children by allowing these channels to make money off it. Not only that, RUclips is also making a profit off the exploitation of these kids. It's not RUclips's job to monitor what your children are watching, in this I completely agree. But that's not what we're talking about. It very much is RUclips's job to ensure that people can't make money on this site off the abuse of the children. Show less REPLY
@Eric Silva: Depends. These channels have millions of subscribers apparently. That represents arguably more money than even a Phil de Franco channel. That's why this is such a serious thing. I think 'small fraction' might not be as small as you think.
I am saddened and disgusted right now, my 6 year old daughter watched the freaky family videos and I always thought it was strange of the dad acting like a baby and sometimes allowing his daughters to slap him in the face with like a spatula, but I never saw anything truly bad from the parts I saw. Just thought it was strange a grown man pretending to be a baby. But that's my grown adult mind seeing it as weird. Where as I knew my daughter was just laughing at the silliness of it. Hearing the things u have said today about some of the things, and knowing you tube shut his channel down makes me realize that just skimming and occasionally watching over my kids shoulder as they watch you tube (on restricted mode) just isn't enough, I need to be more thorough.
I would never let my kids watch these shows. They aren't like the shows we watched as babies or kids on TV at all, there's no vetting process during the shows production for one. No child psychology, no anything. It doesn't have to be seen by a dozen people and given the okay, the assurance, that it's okay for your child to watch. I can also see a lot of these videos as capable of grooming young children to be prayed upon by adults as many videos are created in some way for child predators.
meghan dalaba my 6 year old sister watch them too! I’m Asian and we all don’t have an American accent but now after watching these videos, she has an American accent and it’s SO irritating!!!
Yeahhh I don’t let my kid watch YT Kids anymore. Even the seemingly harmless channels have been skating into weird territory and it’s not something my kid needs in order to sustain life. She can go ride her bike or skate or something instead.
What if your kid gets ran over by a car? People today prefer having their kids watch videos, since going outside isn't safe anymore with crime and pollution and such.
CultureCrash when your comment is irrelevant along with your channel so you need to use bold. EDIT:For all the saltybois who couldn't already tell, this comment was a joke. The level of liquid autism seeping through this comment section is amusing.
nope. better parenting is needed here. kids are not that dumb that you cant put forward a good reason they can understand as to why they shouldn't watch it.
I was on Sevengymnasticsgirls for 6 years.. A sister channel of SFT. I did wear leotards in my videos, but I wore leotards at practice too. Some adults did speak inappropriately about me... and as an adult now there are some things that still disturb me about it.. But I always had fun making my videos and made them as a kid/teen for kids/teens!
Rachel Marie sorry you had to see those comments :/ just know that that’s only the vast minority of people and most people would never think of you or any other child like that :)
"I don't want to shame RUclips. They're trying..." as in they're trying after they received tons of negative publicity. I have had every video at some point get the yellow $. RUclips has given copyright strikes before videos are even public - even when the video does not contain audio. They obviously have the tools to prevent inappropriate stuff on the kids channel, but they choose not to.
RUclips has been like this for years. I'll go to a political video and make an on topic comment, without swearing or doing anything bad and it gets deleted. But when people on that same exact video call for assassinations, violence, and go around swearing at people, those comments go through just fine. It's like the thing they're most concerned about is silencing certain political viewpoints.
Tom King not entirely. They are focused on what's ad friendly. People say RUclips has a left bias but that's bullshit. Fox News gets monetized on RUclips. It doesn't matter what you actually say. The system has to detect it as ad friendly. These nasty kids channels usually have no words in them and it's just fart sounds or sparkles noises and background music while using brand recognition characters. To RUclips bots that seems super ad friendly

I saw some clips of Toyfreaks and it reminded me quite a bit of DaddyOfive. The clip I saw was of him throwing various animals (frogs, snakes) into their bath. The last video in this bizarre timeline had him put a lobster in their bath. The older sister put herself in front of the younger, warning her not to freak out. She let the other girl hide behind her while putting on a smile and saying how “cool” it was. It was clear that she understood, even at her young age, that the father want them to freak out and wanted to take that power away from him. It was disgusting.
So thankful they're finally doing something about this. I have a family channel, but anytime my 8 year old doesn't wanna film, we don't. Period. Even if we're in the middle of it, and she asks me to turn off the camera, no questions... it's off.
BrannRay I wonder how today’s children will react to all those videos when they grow up... Ask yourself - would you like if your parents filmed you and published videos of you? Just saying...
phoenix I think the ones that have their wishes respected will be fine. Unfortunately, not a lot of adult respect children as people. Hell, my family couldn’t even back off teasing me when I begged them to stop and cried; now there are people filming themselves doing that to their kids and calling it comedy. I can’t even imagine how much worse I’d be in their shoes...
Reading this comment made me a little emotional, just as a former child now almost-grown-up I know what it's like to be young and want something to stop but not feeling like I could be taken seriously if I tried to ask. So the fact that you take your child's discomfort so serious is a really wonderful thing and I think it'll help them grow up knowing they don't have to put up with anything that's unfair to them which is really great. Sorry if I'm rambling
Tori Green Sorry to hear about that, hope it does not have too much impact on you now. Re the videos I just don’t get it honestly. It seems it’s not cool to just make films of your kids for memories or to share them with the loved ones... Why is getting attention from random people important? I dunno... rant over. All the best!
phoenix I don't know I wouldn't want people seeing my kids crying because when I was younger I cried a lot and people bullied me for it , my own parents would tell me to man up and because of that I haven't cried since I was 15. I don't see a problem recording your kids but it's what you record, say you record them playing sports that's OK because parents like showing off how good their kids are. But if your child doesn't want to be recorded don't do it
My daughter was also a Toy Freaks watcher. As of watching this I went to check on her iPad to discover that their channel has been removed! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
My sister is about to have her first kid (and first grandchild for both sides of the family). So maybe not now but in the near future, I plan on screening videos and creating playlists of actually kid friendly videos for her. No matter how much drains my sanity.
Kayleigh Lee No,the reason they need to make a playlist with videos they think is appropriate is because many videos that are supposedly "appropriate", aren't. Specifically videos on RUclips Kids
I think the thing that shocks me the most, isn't the fact that people like Daddy of Five or this channel right now exist, but that there are viewers who follow these people and watch these videos and maybe find them disturbing and instead of reporting them they just click exit - or even worse: people who enjoy them. Wtf
I feel like RUclips Kids should only allow videos from companies (like Nick, Disney, etc) and the rest of the content should be screened. If a channel has been screened by a REAL PERSON and the content is deemed consistently acceptable, then they can get a pass in the future to add videos to RUclips Kids without being pre-screened. Will this take time? Yes. But ultimately, these are children we're talking about. They need to be kept safe and sadly parents just don't pay enough attention. Also, comments shouldn't even exist on the RUclips Kids app. They have no business there. They can exist on the actual youtube page but if being accessed from the kid's app? What is the necessity for them there?
Disney are known for going after independent creators on copyright grounds, yet they did nothing to prevent this use of their characters youtube already has the staff to demonetize and hide political speech and independent reporters, yet did nothing about this issue they have been notified of years ago already why would that approved only system by the same companies be any better?
Your argument doesn't make sense. I'm suggesting for example that Disney as a company could post without being screened. Nothing Disney puts out would be inappropriate. It's random people who are not affiliated with Disney who are putting out this content. You can't blame Disney for not filtering RUclips. I'm sure they have flagged some if they saw it, but ultimately it's difficult to do; most things they flag are easily found due to programs which search for direct one-to-one reproductions of their work. Not fan-drawn images and content.
I can blame Disney, as they have attacked large amounts of fan drawn, or even just somewhat similar creations, so they clearly have and are using the resources necessary And the prescreening you propose will be done by youtube, the same company that has left those videos up, and child accessible despite having the staff at hand to deal with it and having been contacted about it for multiple years
I'm pretty sure Disney isn't purposely leaving those videos out. It hurts THEIR reputation so there's no way they would see it and shrug at it. I'm sure they do make claims as they come across them. The videos slipping through the cracks on youtube are due to people tricking algorithms, not real people. I was suggesting to let the ACTUAL DISNEY COMPANY (and other trusted companies) that will definitely NOT put up inappropriate content, post on the kid's app. Just because Disney hasn't caught every person using their content inappropriately doesn't mean that Disney itself would put out inappropriate content and can't be trusted. I also suggested that anyone who is not a trusted partner (like Disney) would have to be screened by a REAL PERSON. Again, those videos we have seen were abusing algorithms, it wasn't that real people just sucked at their job and failed. So, in order to be allowed on the youtube kid's app, someone would need to apply and their videos be thoroughly screened first.
Disney definitely isn't behind it, that's just ridiculous. Like you said, it blemishes their reputation. The problem is that they are using their characters but doing original work with them which means that it's harder for any bots they may usually use to find stolen content to locate these things. Usually, Im guessing that they kind of turn a blind eye to most fan work since the majority of it isn't offensive or harmful (for example, live action versions of "do you want to build a snow man?" or the like. So they can't just attack everything that has the name of a character in it either, although they could probably have better algorithms. But Im guessing they werent even aware of it until recently. The higher ups probably don't care much about youtube news or what's going on here unless it's directly impacting them. And now we can see a sharp reduction. I'm sure RUclips and Disney have spoken internally to each other to work things out. And likely, youtube is reacting as fiercely as it is BECAUSE Disney is involved. Disney can cause a lot of hurt. It's probably not just "omg the children" or else they would have taken it more seriously much sooner when they first heard about it.
Chef Exellence you're right actually. I think the best option would be RUclips restricted so the "kids" videos don't show up so often but it also blocks videos with bad words.
Emily Olson I got youtube red and download videos I've prewatched (or watched with my daughter) and when she wants to watch I put on flight mode. Not worth the risk with all the terrible content around.
Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix all have kid sections. Videos that are 100% safe. No risk of them seeing bad stuff. So why don't people sit their kids in front of those videos instead of RUclips? Parents need to show some responsibility.
+Mckayla Jade unless Big Mouth is in the Netflix Kids section I'm going to say that you're being too sensitive about the content on netflix. Besides, 5 and younger don't easily tire of the same content so technically speaking one or two films or cartoons is all that child needs to watch to be entertained. A burned CD of Little Nemo and Sonic SATam will hold your child until their 7. The difference between those service providers and RUclips is that RUclips is free.
Amanda Jade The people that use YTkids as a babysitter are unaware of the dangers, and are low income. They don't shell out $20 for videos that are free on RUclips. Haven't you ever seen and cringed at young low income parents giving kool-aid to a six month old instead of juice. Some people are unaware, and let their kids consume garbage both physically and mentally, because they don't know better.
I agree that that is a valid option for a lot of families, but all of those services cost money whereas RUclips kids is free. Our family doesn't have the funds to pay for those subscriptions, so my toddler, when I need her out of my hair so I can, say, nurse my newborn or tend to my older child or something, watched YT kids on my phone. I wish there was a way parents could select what channels we will allow our kids to watch, because even though I always start her out on Super Simple Songs, she always ends up on the strange videos due to what's in the recomended section..
I hate this, i recently had to take the phone from my little brother because a paw patrol video came up where there were dog ladies in very revealing bikinis and it was so disturbing, glad this shit has been brought even more to light so youtube can do something about this
On the subject of child exploitation (and what, specifically, counts as exploitation) ... I've always gotten a weird vibe from those Facebook videos of the little blonde girl who says precocious, sassy things. I don't remember her name, but everybody reposts them acting like her "grown-up" insights are super cute. I feel like her lines are fed to her, and that her mom is telling her to act a certain way for the views. I've never wanted to say anything about it because I'm always afraid I'll get shot down (probably with someone saying "Shhhh. Let people enjoy things.") But, if the mother really is coaching the daughter to act a certain way, I feel like that could have a really negative effect on this young girl (probably about 5 or so) who should be free to explore her personality - not to have it dictated to her.
Azura Moonstar that's not grooming that's just bad parenting, she's not sexually exploiting her child. If you use the wrong word it could just make the word lose its meaning.
I agree 100%. The videos aren't even funny, you can tell it's obviously forced and if you were to mention that in the comment section on one of those videos you'd get ripped to shreds. I don't get it.
fieldy409 I get what you're saying, but I think there's a difference between personality and character. Parents should teach their children character, of course - teach them right from wrong and how to be decent, etc. But they _shouldn't_ teach them whether to be an introvert or extrovert, what their hobbies and interests should be, or what superficial traits and mannerisms they should adopt in order to be popular. That's what I mean by personality, and that's what I feel like is happening in these Facebook videos.
Came across this kinda stuff after my niece figured out how to work n iPad, Hovered over expecting something like frozen n ponies but came across some weird shit. What - Why - How - and WHY is what came to my mind. Now I get her books n shit. or ykno cable kids programming. I say she gets internet when she's old enough to lead a raid through molten core I say, but that's just me.
My sister uses Netflix to keep my neice distracted in the car. When I look after my niece I prescreen EVERYTHING I have playing in the background as I am running around chasing after her if it is on youtube and I have autoplay turned off. This is NOT a fun task but it should be something all parents and caregivers should be doing. There is no way I am going to be the person responsible for breaking my niece...
I know, I find these videos odd myself. I don't know why the parents aren't being watch at all times. I FEEL like they should be put in stockades and have their children removed from them. Actually not good enough. I judge them as dirty pedophiles and to the fire pits like God King Defranco would want. Those parents are doing wrong in my eyes and should be punished.
My thoughts exactly! I can understand how that content gets uploaded but why are they not personally reviewing what’s available through the Kids app?? That’s irresponsible as hell!
were talking about children not adults, it's 100x more serious and a 100x more work needs to be put into keeping what they watch safe clean and not manipulative
Children seeing things like this is 100% on the parents. You can't just put a magic rectangle of lights and sounds in front of your kids and then get mad when it isn't a good substitute parent. It's insane; imagine if you did that at your job and just put a tablet on your desk and left. And then you got surprised when it didn't work out.
Literally today I had to hold my cousin with downs while she started sobbing from seeing a kid-targeted video of Barney murdering children, and it was so heart wrenching to watch her see something so messed up. I hope RUclips starts to regulate more of the child-targeted content on the website because sometimes the adults aren't in the room when these things happen and it can scar children for a very long time.
I have seen another type of these videos and they make me personally upset. I have seen thumbnails and titles of videos about kids with Type one diabetes (I have never watched the videos bc I don’t want to give them views). They always have all caps titles about something gone wrong with the insulin pen or pump or whatever. Half the time the kid is bleeding in the thumbnail from what looks like either an insulin pen injection site or where the pump was connected to the body. I’m type one and it makes me upset to see other kids with it being used like that for clicks. This isn’t to be confused with videos made by kids or by families with a type one kid that are like “day in the life” videos that show what living with diabetes is like. Those videos helped me (and I’m sure other kids) after my diagnosis.
This video couldn’t have come at a more fitting time. I’m visiting my mother for Thanksgiving, and my 3 year old kid half-sister apparently falsely called the police the other day. Then, about 2 hours ago I hear her watching a RUclips video telling kids to “call 9-1-1 and answer their questions.” It wasn’t even an educational video for emergencies, it was just a sing-a-long video targeted at very young children. Okay, I’m halfway through the video now and I realize you meant the video on a completely different form of child exploitation, but my anecdote stands as evidence parents need to be attentive of what their children are doing. This afk “Hand your kid your phone” parenting is dangerous.
Joshua Fortune tell your parents to create a safe playlist for her to watch so they know she’s watching good content. I didn’t even know those types of videos exist :/
Holy shit this stuff is creepy. I had no idea this stuff was even happening. I’m glad someone is raising awareness and doing something to stop this, but an if it doesn’t creep me the fuck out hearing about this.
As far as is it on the parents or RUclips. I think it is both. The parents need to pay attention to what their kids watch and RUclips needs to make sure the content on the kids app is for kids.
phoenix he's talking more about the viewers, not the kids that are part of the videos. I agree that it's an issue and why the police aren't getting involved, but that's not what WarKing was specifically talking about. You need to learn about context
Aye Jaye I just said the problem is bigger then the parents-kids-youtube. Is warking some sort of a real king, in which case I apologize and beg for mercy lol
It's not thanksgiving it's national native American genocide day lol JFK maybe I don't know fake news something something Dark side something something complete xD
Of course NZ doesn't do thanksgiving. The US is quite literally the only country that thanksgives because the US is the only country that it is relevant to. You also should't need to set aside a special day to be grateful. You should just be grateful.
Actually Canada has a Thanksgiving day too, it's in October though. Plus in South Korea they have Golden Week, which is often compared to Thanksgiving when they explain it to foreigners. So there are a few countries that have it, just not many that have a nationally set aside day or time for it. Over the years it seems to have been twisted from a day to be thankful for surviving the initial weather after arriving to this continent than to a day to remember the first settlers in a way that didn't happen at all. Most people know by now what it was really like for the first settlers here, but keep the holiday just the same as a day of thanks instead despite all the stories that we are taught as children about what the "first thanksgiving" was like.
Personally, I'd consider these to be different holidays. The same way that I'd consider Hanukkah, Ramadan and Christmas to be different holidays. Similar in their intent, but different in their motivation. You said yourself - US thanksgiving is to do with surviving their insolent betrayal of the UK (you might have phrased it a little differently though). I'm fairly confident that the South Koreans aren't celebrating the same thing and I know that the Canadians aren't because I had a check. Just saying.
It's certainly convenient to be able to put your kid in front of youtube so you can get some chores done or even just take a moment to catch your breath, but by no means does that mean you are not responsible for your child's safety in regards to what they watch. I'd have a tendency of creating safe playlists for kids to watch and regularly checking to make sure they have not strayed from those playlists.
That playlist is a good idea. Big sister here, I just explained to my brother to only watch videos from the channels we tell him are okay. I checked his history, and he's listening to me so I'm not too worried about him seeing strange things. Still I check up on him to make sure.
SaltmomTM Is Sad teaching little kids what’s right and what’s wrong for themselves is definitely the best way to make sure they’re going to be okay. They need to learn that on their own and understanding that early on really good :)
I'm honestly proud of RUclips for actually trying to help out with this, as it's very sick to see parents and adults putting content like that on RUclips for everyone (even younger children like my little sister) to see. I remember when the Daddy O'Five ordeal was going on and my younger sibling was actually watching those videos and had subscribed until my dad found out and put a stop to it. I think the parents that own these RUclips channels need to step up and realise that what they're doing is sick and wrong and not in the best interest of their kids or the community at large.
Like I said, I'm proud of them for trying. Trying is the key word here, amigo. They want to stop videos where kids are being depicted as being tied up by "naughty elves" and where they're being filmed in a shower together for adults to enjoy and for other children to see. Not to mention they're trying to deactivate channels in which the children being filmed have a high probability of being mentally scarred and affected by content they're forced to put out by adults.
RUclips isn't trying to do anything. They might be pretending to, but they are just a bunch of liberal "progressive" scum who would rather monetize a video that praises little 8 year old boys dressing in drag at a gay parade than a video criticizing it.
Literally no one said anything about RUclips monetising videos of a child dressing in drag. (Which there is nothing inherently wrong with, by the way.) I don't think you should be focusing on a little boy doing what he wants to do if it's harmless and fun for the child! And calling RUclips liberal scum isn't in any way related to the conversation we were having about RUclips trying to protect children from inappropriate content and adults being pedophiles. Please read the comments that you're going to reply to before you type. And take your homophobic attitude elsewhere, we don't want your judgement nor do we need it. (We being the LGBT+ community who's a part of Phillip's fanbase.)
I’ve been trying to get Toy Freaks channel down for a while now. My niece started acting weirdly and started using baby talk and throwing things and making jokes about urine. We blocked them and after a couple months her behavior started to change.
i was born in 1993 and first started using the computer in 2000, my mother has been using computers for work since the 80's i remember when i started using the home pc she gave me a lot of instructions on how to close out of any pop up that came up asap to prevent viruses, to only go to a website via the exact url and to double check that i did not miss spell it, and constantly warned me not to talk to anyone and never click any links to different websites. Man i miss when people were more weary about the internet and how it's not really a kid friendly thing...
THANK YOU!!! Thank you so much about talking about this topic. It's been so hard trying to filter the auto-play for my toddler while managing everything else. Sometimes, we just need a moment to play catch-up, and RUclips has helped with that. Unfortunately, it has been adding to the workload every time we have to stop and flag/report a video for whatever ridiculous content slips through that is violent or has disturbing images. Thanks to you being vigilant about this topic, we've had a chance to take a breather. We'll keep monitoring, but at least we won't have to send as many reports in.
The app RUclips kids is specifically for KIDS and it's supposed to filter out bad channels. That's why these not child friendly videos being accessible on RUclips kids is not acceptable and RUclips needs to do more.
Not worth it. RUclips Kids isn’t a necessity. My kid can watch Big Hero 6 or some other Disney movie over and over and over instead because honestly to a kid there’s no fucking difference.
Thank you Phil. As my kids became more fluent with navigating Netflix Kids I let my oldest start picking RUclips shows to stream. That didn't last an hour as I peeked in and saw things that made Ren & Stimpy look like Family Circus.
I got a crap load of those kids videos that lead to elsagate videos in my suggested videos after watching that episode you did. I didn't know youtube's algorithm would be stupid enough to show me those videos after watching yours, but now I have to keep that in mind and delete your videos from my history to prevent that.
Lol, I just got a suggested video for "To Catch A Predator - Top 5 Funnier Moments" and "10 Missing Kids Found Alive". There is *nothing* in my history that would cause RUclips to recommend those to me, except I guess all the comments mentioning pedophilia?
it's a simple algorithm, similar to the ones used by shopping sites, it will suggest things to you a large volume of people watched immediately after watching something you just watched, whether curious or outraged & setting out to flag, it's a given phil has so many viewers that the subject of his videos is going to get some a lot traffic headed towards it & influence the youtube algorithm
Bad Artist: Yeah, I know. I do that. Over and over and over and over and over and over and it still comes up. I can't tell you how many times I've done it for any videos in russian or some other language and it still won't stop recommending them. You can tell youtube to show you videos in any other language, but you can't filter it down to JUST english.
I'd say the responsibility goes both ways, as a video and audio provider youtube logically should do all that they can to protect young children from explicit videos (ESP on an app that's supposed to be made exactly for that) or just...those types of videos. But parents have the equal responsibility in not letting such videos come to fruition, for those that allow such videos or do make such videos, or become popular to children. It should always be noted that parents wont always have time to monitor let alone re-watch what the child has watched, hence it's important that sites like youtube be as equally responsible. But then comes parents having to agree on an age where monitoring a child is no longer needed or is overprotective/outright creepy and youtube will have to age restrict the videos, which is outright impossible - at the moment - to do with any algorithm.
If you don't have the time to monitor what your child is watching, don't put them in front of the f***ing computer! I'm sorry but parents shouldn't let kids watch anything without knowing it is safe, especially anything on the internet. There are plenty of other toys that they could play with- you know like the ones that existed before the internet. Sure, youtube is responsible for what goes on its site specially if that channel gets millions of subscribers, but I cannot understand how parents have become so complacent.
That's a good point, a better solution - in regards to children watching videos on youtube - would be creating their own playlist of videos their child can watch which could also limit how long they are allowed to watch videos. Otherwise a playlist created by *human* youtube staff which watch random children's videos and add them to the playlist if they deem it safe, although that would be placing pretty much all responsibility on the parent which is not ideal.
And there are adult comedy channels. Like SML (supermariologan) it’s puppets and plush. It’s for adults and now they are having a hard time because people think they are targeting children just because they are puppets and plush toys.
I think RUclips REALLY needs to rework their algorithm. Because it has a habit of taking down videos that have nothing to with "scary" or inappropriate images. One video got taken down because it had the word "Naked" in it.. The video was a science video showing what Molecules look like to the naked eye.
I think something to point out to parents is the best way to handle RUclips as a parent given that kids really don't watch cartoons anymore is to take time watch the videos and start making a playlist. Put the safe videos on a playlist and then when your child does want to watch RUclips you can click shuffle on the playlist which will only play videos that you yourself know are now safe. Because once you let RUclips itself start randomly playing videos for your kids the chances of one of these creepy videos popping up next start to increase dramatically.
I put “little baby bum” on for my 1 year old on RUclips. 5 mins in had an ad for a psychological horror series with disturbing scenes and ‘MURDER’ written across the screen. Never again.
It’s our job as viewers to point out these type of channels to YT so they can fix the issues, it’s crazy how many Subscribers DaddyOfive had before DeFranco pointed this out. If we all pointed out these channel before they grow, YT could spend more time fixing their other issues.
Jack Waters sometimes the thing is that many people don't look for this kind of stuff, that's why it's so important to have people like Philly to help us with that so we can help report it. And all the actual subs on those accounts completely support that sick content but yeah, wtf with the millions of views, I can't believe that many people approve what they see or are so apathetic to even click a couple of buttons.
Did you know that if everyone didn't say "RUclips heroes was a bad idea don't do it." this wouldn't be happening? All they wanted to do was make moderators for RUclips but the idiot RUclipsrs misinterpreted this and spread that misinformation to their even dumber fans. None of these videos would exist because the website would be fully moderated.
Seems like the best thing to do in order to protect your kids is to make an account so that you have access to the watching history. I checked on my nephew's device and was bothered that I had to go through the recommendations and explore to check.
No, shame RUclips for this, many commentary channels called out these channels YEARS AGO! Hell, I remember a week in either 2012 or 2013 that COD commentaries were talking about a channel that moved from COD videos to these “children” oriented stuff. RUclips only is dealing with the problem now because MSM is calling it, but they can’t hide it from advertisers anymore. This isn’t some new problem and I will not give them props for addressing it now.
TheVixenFan I can’t remember the name, but it was a channel that did COD commentaries, then transitioned to weird videos with cartoon characters. It wasn’t as bad as this stuff, but much of the community called him out.
They were going to do that, it was called RUclips Heroes. But because people are stupid and read into things that aren't real. They followed the guide of idiot RUclipsrs telling them it was a bad idea. Don't you feel stupid now.
No it would not have. They explicitly said you would would have to earn that privilege. They were trying to make moderators out of common people that use this website, the way you got to do more stuff was to do GOOD in the community. People read into it that you would get more ability to flag videos, by flagging videos. They should have explained it a little better because I guess they forgot 90% of this website is retarded.
It’s so interesting the timing of this video. My wife and I just had to take my son’s tablet away a few days ago. He had recently gotten interested in Pokémon and started looking up videos on RUclips. As we came to find out, that included some very much not child friendly content. While I understand in this day-and-age my child is bound to be exposed to some inappropriate language no matter how hard we try, the problem arises when my son is amused by and repeating the language and phrases from these videos. I ended up taking the tablet and trying to make it filter out these videos. Some of the videos still make it through. I get that there’s a ton of content to sort through, and I’m glad to see that RUclips is working on it.
I had to remove the YT Kids app and constantly monitor any use of RUclips as a whole for my small children because of this kind of trash. Thankfully I don't think they saw any of the truly dark content called out here, but I do remember a few "kids running around crying and being scared" type videos popping up for them. Just as troubling to me, my children were watching a huge number of toy videos which was the most insidious type of advertising I've ever seen. All my kids could think about was buying whatever cheap plastic toys were being showcased. It's hard enough as adults to be aware when we're being manipulated by advertisers...kids have no filter whatsoever!
As a 90's kid Seeing all these cartoons where the plane crashes and explodes. Makes me wonder how shows like Tom and Jerry, Wiley Coyote and the likes would be received in modern day? Cause that was a staple for me as a kid and it had similar scenes of explosions and characters being smashed to pieces etc. Great show.
Everybody's so worried that the NSA is watching them bc they've been to 4chan once, but the NSA isn't even good enough to pick up on the millions of disturbing RUclips videos aimed at normalizing childhood trauma and brainwashing toddlers LMAO.
The NSA's job has absolutely nothing to do with disturbing youtube videos. The NSA's directive is National Security, which means anti-terrorism, which means spying on lawful citizens. The FBI are the ones who deal with domestic stuff but even they don't get involved with youtube content very often at all because they are way too busy with real issues.
You ever think maybe they don't give a fuck and let it happen? There are so many missing children and with their stalking abilities they could probably find them but they choose not to
Parents. It's the parents responsibility to raise their child. Governments and businesses like RUclips can try and help by censoring things kids aren't ready for but it always comes down to the parents in the end.
Very concerned that 1) people are creating this disturbing content for financial reasons and 2) how long has this gone on for? Is it only when the media jumps in that RUclips act. Not good at all. I have just shared this with my family in the hope that they monitor what content my nieces and nephews are consuming on the platform. Wow.
HS! I’ll be spending tonight going through my kids YT history. They used to spend their time watching fun YT gamers but now they’re watching everything on that endless stream and I’m concerned. Thanks again
It honestly concerns me more than parents just use RUclips Kids as some sort of nanny and let their kids sit in front of it for hours, not even knowing what they're watching. That's not a good way of parenting, regardless of this whole Elsagate thing.
I was at my aunt's house for Thanksgiving today, and caught my little cousin (2 years old) watching a weird video featuring Elsa and the bear from Masha and the Bear and a couple of other characters eating each other's poop. I told her mom.
To be honest, RUclips Kids has worried me since I first saw an advert for it. Something about giving such young children this portal into the depths of RUclips (even though it's only supposed to be 'child friendly') just never sounded like a good idea to me. I definitely didn't predict this kind of content exactly, but I always knew there'd be some creepy shit to watch out for (this is the internet after all...).
Parents should ALWAYS monitor (at least somewhat) what their kids are watching. Anyone can post stuff on RUclips. That being said, if RUclips is going to provide a service that brings videos just for kids, they very much need to be sure that it's appropriate.
I'm not as concerned with RUclips shutting the channel down as something being done to stop these people from abusing the children. So now these creeps will just continue to abuse the children in private.
As the oldest cousin of seven very young children, I am disgusted by this. My cousin's enjoy watching telelvision and will probably be getting into RUclips Kids soon, and I'm pretty scared just watching these. My younger brothers are watching and saying things they shouldn't be saying because of RUclips, and I don't want the same to happen to my cousins. They're smart, and will probably pick up on the language and meanings, but that doesn't keep the paranoia away. I hope RUclips fixes this problem so that other young chcildreb won't be affected. I also hope parents will encourage their children to stay in a certain lane and talk to their kids about internet safety. I'm thirteen, and as a kid, I was traumatized by a video that I saw on RUclips. It was basically a LPS murder video that later had sex scenes and plenty of gore. My parents banned me from RUclips for two years afterwards. Please watch out for your kids because you never know what might be influencing them from behind the scenes.
Oh my gosh that's really bad i didn't even know my niece watch's the toys freak and rainbow rhymes all the time. But I would just glance down then then look back up; because I had seen children so I thought it was fine I figured no one would put out inappropriate content with children out. I got to look closer at what she watch's this is really messed up, thank you for bringing it to our attention.
I appreciate RUclips doing more because as a parent it only takes a second of looking away fro something inappropriate to pop up. That being said (yes I know that is one of Phillip's more commonly used phrases lol) it is still ultimately my job to monitor what my children watch and have those conversations with them at age appropriate times to help them learn to become responsible and discerning consumers of entertainment themselves.
There's channels like the Crash Course series that are educational, but not aimed at kids. I was introduced to it for a college course. So there's actual educational material, just harder to find through all the bullshit.
My daughter really likes watching nail art videos. Lol she's 3 and it blows her mind. Also she is now painfully aware at how bad I am at painting nails. 😂😂
First off, you're a moron. Second, when was there a rule kids can only watch educational videos? Lastly, nothing the need to see here? You do know youtube has normal cartoons, like Mickey Mouse and such, right?
As a teacher I have to say I am quite disappointed with my generation(Im 35) in how they are raising their kids. We were the first generation to have internet as teens and have shows like beavis and butthead. WE SHOULD KNOW THAT NOT ALL CARTOONS ARE FOR KIDS AND NO KID SHOULD HAVE INTERNET ACCESS UNSUPERVISED. The sheer amt of kids in my class (ages 8-10) that have watched Movies like Deadpool and watch cartoons like Rick and Mortey are staggering. When I have 8 year olds idolizing idiots like Jake Paul parents are failing them. FOR FUCKS SAKE EITHER RAISE YOUR KID PROPERLY OR DONT HAVE ANY. Choose career or kids but dont have kids when both of you work 10-12 hr days and then use youtube as a babysitter for em.
You are giving RUclips too much of a fair pass here Phil. They will censor guys like Jordan Peterson and Sargon of Akkad, but they let shit like this pass on RUclips Kids? *cough* conspiracy *cough*
Earth_Emissions Phil don't do conspiracys...like they don't exist in his world.... Never seen him cover false flags which is very interesting if phil is your news source... At least cnn covers it ..smh
Not only does CNN cover them they also create some of them as with pretty much every news source. Also he has called out RUclips for not taking better care to get content like this off the site. Daddy O Five, Elsagate, hell he even calls out Jake Paul.
I dont blame Phil for not covering conspiricy theories as its not really his expertise, however, there are great conspiracy channels out there. I recommend channels like pocketsofthefuture, Truthstream Media and End Times News Report if you want good coverage on conspiracies. I am merely pointing out that RUclips knew about these gross child abuse and pedo channels, yet for some stupid fucking reason decides to go after anyone they deem politically incorrect instead of focusing on channels like Toyfreaks and the like which have been abusing children physically and mentally for years. As confirmation, checkout all of the adpocolypse 2.0 videos uploaded to RUclips today.
The difference in scale is massive - that's why. Sargon and Peterson have no more than 2 or 3 channels each on RUclips, whereas the channels that pump out questionable "children's content" number in the dozens (at least).
First I want to say thank you to you Phil. I watch daily for news, main stories as well as the news that does directly affect us. As an older parent of a 1st grader it’s hard to keep up with the ever evolving tech he’s exposed to. Or can be exposed to in this case. When my older now grown kids were little the choices were limited to what dvd I’d put on, and yes even vhs tapes I’d sit through with them lol. So much Barney back in the day. Every parent knows there are times we need to direct their attention. Be it a kids movie or episodes of a purple dinosaur because we need to clean something without them getting into it. Or to take a quick shower or just to poop. Having said that it’s not a replacement for parenting or real one on one time with our kiddos. Which he thankfully still prefers :). I do my best to keep up with what he watches or games he plays but I’m honestly over my scope of understanding with many of the tech based services he has available to him. I’ve set up the family share accounts and use the filters where available to try and curtail the content to his age, or to what I feel is appropriate. Sadly stories like these point out how shitty some people are. Just for views and/or money gains. It’s terrible that some will use what ever gaps there are in the platform they are posting to or rely on the momentary lapses in monitoring of our kids content. It seems they not only list things in a way to sneak past the filters used by RUclips in their algorithm. But in hopes a kid will search a topic and click their vids not knowing what they are, or that the auto play function will queue one up so it’s viewed. All the while not giving a crap what someone’s kiddo will see and how it may affect them. We all know humans can be nefarious to each other. But going after kids hits a whole other level for me. Aholes is more appropriate term for them I feel. I will continue to be diligent as a father, but having such a good source of info on things I struggle to keep up with and understand makes my job much more doable. I even share these vids with my friends who are parents. Thank you Phil, for keeping us in the loop so we can make educated decisions. Also for doing the leg work where I can then share the info and look like the hero lol.
The problem is videos like that plane crash one are on RUclips Kids, I believe. Don't Hug Me I'm Scared is probably not listed under that (same goes for Happy Tree Friends from way back)
Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared was never a children's cartoon channel. On top of that they went mainstream so they're already in the system as a white listed channel.
Parents forcing their children into doing something that they dont want to do, is the same power imbalance that we see with high powered boss's forcing their low powered employees to do sexual "favors". Like the girls forced to comply with their bosses out of fear, so are children forced to comply out of ignorance. The children dont know what they are doing is wrong. And both cases there can be mental, emotional, and/or physical consequence for the rest of their lives. All for being put in a position they should have never been in.
Thank you, sir. (For your helpful services)

If it takes fighting a war for us to meet, it will have been worth it
Mark Smith thank you for your service
I came across Toy Freaks when reading an article about this whole situation and it made me so incredibly uncomfortable. I'm glad to hear the channel has been removed.
And then there is a copycat channel I found just by typing in bad baby ruclips.net/channel/UCyLfh3jDTXFfGgIxtg5S0jQ
good find. I flagged
Angelina Eonni88 and they’re gone it seems
Or my internet suck
(It just says error loading, so I can’t tell)
PlayTrailers this is an even better idea actually
Horrible!
What about the ones who are watching these videos right now
Why can’t we block channels, like RUclipsrs can block ppl from their channels - that would be we taking bigger control of what our kids can watch or not...
Complacency caused by massive success
But then you have to actively look for these channels that need to be avoided. I say RUclips should ban the videos all together or age restrict them.
I agree, but youtubers can't block people from their channel
Lot of Daddy O'Fives out there 0.0
The Ace Of Spades indeed
Elizabeth Braddock why? Because they bed a woman on each of the five levels - and they have kids - and then these little "families" have sex - the females provide breast milk before and after birth - menstral fluid when not impregnanted. They are "nannys"
The Ace Of Spades what do you mean? It's just a prank, bro!!!
And "nurses"
what the heck you're on every yugioh video, now even this one

100% agree. RUclips can't do we enough imo to stop and get rid of all of this sick trash. Makes me feel sick in the stomach...
I feel bad for the abused children all over the world. RUclips is a small fraction of that
@Eric Silva: Depends. These channels have millions of subscribers apparently. That represents arguably more money than even a Phil de Franco channel. That's why this is such a serious thing. I think 'small fraction' might not be as small as you think.
They didn't create it. This kind of thing existed long before youtube. Stupid parents created it. If you can call them parents at all..
Praetorian HiJynx I personally find the exploitation of children to be pretty chill.
Just let your kid watch Minecraft videos and you'll be fine
You sound like a smart parent.
Poopiepantz 34 Genius
Smacy just let your kid wacth channels you’ve seen my friend my bff makes doll videos
What if your kid gets ran over by a car? People today prefer having their kids watch videos, since going outside isn't safe anymore with crime and pollution and such.
*And this is why internet restrictions for children can be a good thing*
CultureCrash Yep
CultureCrash when your comment is irrelevant along with your channel so you need to use bold.
EDIT:For all the saltybois who couldn't already tell, this comment was a joke. The level of liquid autism seeping through this comment section is amusing.
Wassup dum dum
georgie Yeah I know,I love his content I'm just messing around.
nope. better parenting is needed here. kids are not that dumb that you cant put forward a good reason they can understand as to why they shouldn't watch it.
Rachel Marie lol
b07rivera it’s kind of hard to not be emotional when it involves people preying on children
b07rivera He has kids, of course he's going to be biased on this! Don't be a dumbass. He's allowed to have opinions.
BosoxnationI972 _You_ don't sound biased _at all_
"I don't want to shame RUclips.

Wow that's a really good sister.
God that's heartbreaking
@@Sketchette6669 agreed
Wahl Flower hooray for awesome parenting XD
You could always just you youtube kids
Kayleigh Lee
No,the reason they need to make a playlist with videos they think is appropriate is because many videos that are supposedly "appropriate", aren't. Specifically videos on RUclips Kids
Kayleigh Lee do you watch Phillip defranco often? He JUST recently made a video regarding how that’s not smart parenting...
I think the thing that shocks me the most, isn't the fact that people like Daddy of Five or this channel right now exist, but that there are viewers who follow these people and watch these videos and maybe find them disturbing and instead of reporting them they just click exit - or even worse: people who enjoy them. Wtf
It's Daddy O' Five all over again.
That defranco guy is responsible for this 😩
my thoughts exactly..
@BC3012 Really? So if you expose a problem you are the problem?
They're making a joke
i think he is making fun .. that line was said by man behind DO5 in interview..

Disney are known for going after independent creators on copyright grounds, yet they did nothing to prevent this use of their characters
youtube already has the staff to demonetize and hide political speech and independent reporters, yet did nothing about this issue they have been notified of years ago already
why would that approved only system by the same companies be any better?
Your argument doesn't make sense. I'm suggesting for example that Disney as a company could post without being screened. Nothing Disney puts out would be inappropriate. It's random people who are not affiliated with Disney who are putting out this content. You can't blame Disney for not filtering RUclips. I'm sure they have flagged some if they saw it, but ultimately it's difficult to do; most things they flag are easily found due to programs which search for direct one-to-one reproductions of their work. Not fan-drawn images and content.
I can blame Disney, as they have attacked large amounts of fan drawn, or even just somewhat similar creations, so they clearly have and are using the resources necessary
And the prescreening you propose will be done by youtube, the same company that has left those videos up, and child accessible despite having the staff at hand to deal with it and having been contacted about it for multiple years
I'm pretty sure Disney isn't purposely leaving those videos out.
As a RUclipsr, I never want my kids to watch RUclips :( This makes me so sick.
Harvard University that’s how we got in this problem though. These inappropriate videos weren’t blocked on RUclips kids.
Chef Exellence you're right actually. I think the best option would be RUclips restricted so the "kids" videos don't show up so often but it also blocks videos with bad words.
You can get the "Jellies" AP
trust me, YT Kids is not a viable alternative.
Emily Olson I got youtube red and download videos I've prewatched (or watched with my daughter) and when she wants to watch I put on flight mode. Not worth the risk with all the terrible content around.
I really personally don't think there should be a RUclips kids.
Klynnx3 Exactly, a site shouldn't mix Adults and Children
Esock agree.
Ageist fucks.
Ann Mous
Exactly. Some children are very prodigious, and some adults support Trump.
Ann Mous Not "ageist". RUclips is for 13+ for a reason. Even RUclips Kids isnt safe from weirdos. This was going to happen
Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix all have kid sections. Videos that are 100% safe. No risk of them seeing bad stuff. So why don't people sit their kids in front of those videos instead of RUclips? Parents need to show some responsibility.
Amanda Jade Or they can go outside and play.
Well then all cost money, but I agree.
I hate this, i recently had to take the phone from my little brother because a paw patrol video came up where there were dog ladies in very revealing bikinis and it was so disturbing, glad this shit has been brought even more to light so youtube can do something about this
Verxol yep, have 2 kids myself and these videos of women in revealing costumes keep popping up
Damn furries
Unfortunately, it's still going to fall through the cracks, remember the RUclips flagging system is notoriously unreliable
choloeseguay yea its really weird the fact that they themselves think of it as "kid content"or "family friendly" when its obviously something else
The Geeky Gamer Or the Emo Hipster i know right
On the subject of child exploitation (and what, specifically, counts as exploitation) ... Let people enjoy things.") But, if the mother really is coaching the daughter to act a certain way, I feel like that could have a really negative effect on this young girl (probably about 5 or so) who should be free to explore her personality - not to have it dictated to her.
report it... that is child grooming for pedophiles.
Devils advocate "being free to explore her personality, not have it dictated to her" kinda sounds like an argument against parenting in general.
fieldy409 I get what you're saying, but I think there's a difference between personality and character.
Hooray for good parenting :)
zain agreed
I hope she's better at WoW than a lot of adults that currently play or she'll never get the internet haha
Spikeheslter I agree
My sister uses Netflix to keep my neice distracted in the car. When I look after my niece I prescreen EVERYTHING I have playing in the background as I am running around chasing after her if it is on youtube and I have autoplay turned off. This is NOT a fun task but it should be something all parents and caregivers should be doing. There is no way I am going to be the person responsible for breaking my niece...
It seems like some of these videos or evidence of child abuse which means the proper authorities need to be notified and shown this stuff
RUclips kids should just be an app where RUclips manually reviews channels and then if they
Are approved they can go on YTkids
My thoughts exactly! I can understand how that content gets uploaded but why are they not personally reviewing what’s available through the Kids app?? That’s irresponsible as hell!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Are you going to fork up the money to hire and employ all those people to watch and review the videos? No? Yea me neither.
Skull google has the money to employ a couple people to watch and review a handful of channels a few days a week to get added to the kids app.
were talking about children not adults, it's 100x more serious and a 100x more work needs to be put into keeping what they watch safe clean and not manipulative
I agree that parents need to be more responsible, but this is an app made specifically for children. That's the main reason people are so upset.

Marie Aqua Im glad you found videos on RUclips that helped you. I hope you’re doing well :)
I have an 8 year old. No afk you tube allowed and close monitoring her Netflix. No free web surfing.
Problem is unfit parents getting kids.
WarKing What about the kids who appear in these videos? Who’s gonna watch for them? I wonder why police have not investigated this...
phoenix he's talking more about the viewers, not the kids that are part of the videos.
Aww, New Zealand doesn't get thanksgiving
But Happy thanksgiving to the people who do celebrate it
It's not thanksgiving it's national native American genocide day lol JFK maybe I don't know fake news something something Dark side something something complete xD
Didn't you people take what the Maori people had? Get a Thanksgiving and choke on it. ....Native American here btw
Amy Tanabe :) you’re a great parent :)
zain I'm not actually a parent. Just a nanny, babysitter and my friend's have kids. One day ;)
Amy Tanabe okay, you’ll be a great parent one day :)
This whole situation makes me extremely uncomfortable and just disgusts me in general
Proud? ......Daddy ofive made a new account . RUclips is not stopping shit. But what they are stopping are people speaking against youtube practices.
@Luigi well it was 2000 so using the internet was going to spacejam.com or cartoonnetwork.com xD.

Why do parents even give there kids RUclips it was never meant for them in the beginning.of course your gonna have messed up channels like this.
The app RUclips kids is specifically for KIDS and it's supposed to filter out bad channels. That's why these not child friendly videos being accessible on RUclips kids is not acceptable and RUclips needs to do more.
Parents are lazy and youtube is an easy babysitter
Not worth it. RUclips Kids isn’t a necessity. My kid can watch Big Hero 6 or some other Disney movie over and over and over instead because honestly to a kid there’s no fucking difference.
That's where it start the kids app
IRL Mommy but netflix kids kinda have the same problem.

What's Elsagate
Bad Artist:
Yeah, I know.
Just say it's a thunderfoot video =3
I think something to point out to parents is the best way to handle RUclips as a parent given that kids really don't watch cartoons anymore is to take time watch the videos and start making a playlist. Put the safe videos on a playlist and then when your child does want to watch RUclips you can click shuffle on the playlist which will only play videos that you yourself know are now safe. Because once you let RUclips itself start randomly playing videos for your kids the chances of one of these creepy videos popping up next start to increase dramatically.
jesseH311 yea :) that’s the perfect idea :)
Why can’t kids go back to watching Minecraft let’s plays or something? Better than this stuff

RUclips needs to step up their game... personally I don't think it goes far enough.

Seems like the best thing to do in order to protect your kids is to make an account so that you have access to the watching history. I checked on my nephew's device and was bothered that I had to go through the recommendations and explore to check.
I'm glad you put those red circles and arrows in the thumbnail, otherwise I would have thought she was just standing on the wall.
Omg since the previous video I have been monitoring what my kids watch on RUclips like crazy! Thank you for sharing this with us!
JAB of LEGENDS that'd probably be stampylongnose I used to watch him and he went from cod to kids videos
JAB of LEGENDS oh nvm
Why can't youtube just hire you to be a mod or something :/
RUclips already spends a ton of money for free hosting for its users, it's not realistic to expect them to hire vast amounts of people to moderate it.
RUclips has never maid a profit, they can’t sustain this forever.

Me! What if an adult put it on for their kids on RUclips? Oh no...
I'm so glad you made this video!!!! I saw one of the toy freaks video and went to the channel bc I couldn't believe what I saw!!!!!
Melz is you have kids just give them a playlist of safe videos for them to watch :)

I think the parents have responsibility, but when someones markets something as child friendly, so do they.
Great show.
Devon Jansen Tom and Jerry got restylized and is still on air
Still kinda existent. Though, a bit less violent.
How do these people get away with this. They should go to jail for showing children such content, or at least get a really big fine.
Absolutely! They should be held accountable for exploiting children :/

I'm more worried about the NSA finding out about my external harddrive.

Jocelyn Miller the best way is to create a playlist of videos that you find are safe for your her to watch. It’s the best way to keep kids safe.
So can we all agree that the Money Store is the best Death Grips album?
Barry Benson YES IT IS
Forever.
I’ve seen footage
I say bottomless pit is the best, and money store is second best!
Unpopular opinion, but Exmilitary is the best
if i saw my kid watching these videos, i'd be incredibly confused why a random kid is in my house watching videos, because i don't have a kid
I'm not as concerned with RUclips shutting the channel down as something being done to stop these people from abusing the children. So now these creeps will just continue to abuse the children in private.
Happy Damn Thanksgiving Phil! Thanks for sharing this info. As a parent I need to monitor my kids viewing habits a little closer!
Philip DeFranco is a breath of fresh air on RUclips
Oh my gosh that's really bad i didn't even know my niece watch's the toys freak and rainbow rhymes all the time. But I would just glance down then then look back up; because I had seen children so I thought it was fine I figured no one would put out inappropriate content with children out. I got to look closer at what she watch's this is really messed up, thank you for bringing it to our attention.
I appreciate RUclips doing more because as a parent it only takes a second of looking away fro something inappropriate to pop up. That being said (yes I know that is one of Phillip's more commonly used phrases lol) it is still ultimately my job to monitor what my children watch and have those conversations with them at age appropriate times to help them learn to become responsible and discerning consumers of entertainment themselves.
kids should straight up not watch youtube at all. there is nothing here that they need to see and barely anything would count as “educational”
There's channels like the Crash Course series that are educational, but not aimed at kids. I was introduced to it for a college course. So there's actual educational material, just harder to find through all the bullshit.
Caroline Sine There is a crash course kids!
My daughter really likes watching nail art videos. Lol she's 3 and it blows her mind. Also she is now painfully aware at how bad I am at painting nails. 😂😂
SciShowKids is great for elementary age kids.
First off, you're a moron. Second, when was there a rule kids can only watch educational videos? Lastly, nothing the need to see here? You do know youtube has normal cartoons, like Mickey Mouse and such, right?
Those dislikes are from pedos
Laughing Man The You must feel proud accomplishing that much.
Nah, I just hate this dude. No real reason why I do, I just don't like him. This isn't the only vid of his I've disliked.
Dewayne if you hate him why would you watch the vid
Bop Bop Celery
John Spade beep beep lettuce
Awooga awooga spinach
John Spade skeet skeet tomato
Zoinks zoinks lemon
Deet deet oranges
Thank you for bringing so much awareness to this issue! I hope they continue to delete more videos and remove channels with these disturbing videos.
Yeah I'm kinda shocked he didn't talk about the pedophilia ring... It seems to tie into this
Not only does CNN cover them they also create some of them as with pretty much every news source.
When you're watching this to escape your family
My little cousin was watching some videos about baby dolls pooping into eachother’s mouth. I almost puked
Shadow maybe tell their parents to create a playlist for him so safe videos and only let them watch that. That’s the best solution so far.
Prob, that sounds like a good idea.
Is Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared going to affected by this as well then?
Caitlin Marie That would be a shame because a lot of effort and talent went into those videos. :(
I wouldn't think so. DHMIS is not really targeted twoards young children, simply has the astetic
We must protect DHMIS
RUclips is not listening. I’ve flagged most of those channels and videos. But when the news talks about it, then they act. They need to try harder.
