Michael Sweet, himself has stated that he is not a huge fan of this album because he thinks it's over produced and glam, but it really one of my favorites. Love it

I'm glad to finally find a christian reaction channel! My name is Karl, 58, from Albuquerque! I see you've reacted to Petra and Stryper; Petra was my first christian group I heard so keep the Petra reactions coming! I also recommend You reacting to White Heart(probably from the album Freedom and newer), also Idle Cure, and one of my favorite bands AD(former members from Kansas formed this band) all of their albums from Time Line to Prime Mover are excellent! More suggestions to follow!

Love that song! The very first Stryper song I heard back in 8th grade was "Keep the Fire Burning" and I loved it! They played it on a Christian FM station that had just come on the air.

When the lyrics are blunt and easy to understand about our faith it’s more enjoyable. When one has to decipher what the lyrics means it’s a spirit crusher. In my opinion. Stryper is straight to the point.

This has by far Michael's best scream at the end, but what's awesome is that Oz is that second scream you hear after the first one and is still proceeding the first after the highest note is reached! As my first introduction to their heavier side, my first experience with them ever being "Always There For You" I was absolutely blown away 5-ish years ago when i put on the title track- it remained the "heaviest" song on my playlist for a while until i explored Scorpions and Van Halen a little further. Damn good music from these three, even if the other two are blatantly secular.

That perfect era of christian metal was built in large part with Stryper's three 'great' albums: Soldiers Under Command, To Hell With the Devil, and In God We Trust. Bride's Show No Mercy and Live to Die were mixed in their too, but Stryper had all the public notice.

Good album, but probably their most overproduced album (Michael sweet would agree). Good songs on this album, but prefer soldiers and thwtd. Agree and have stayed in prior responses look into some kind of series looking into the pioneers, Saint, Philadelphia, Daniel's band etc I guess I am a little old school but like to pay homage to those that paved the way for the new generation . Love seeing someone l8ke you experiencing the forefathers and sharing the new generation of bands with us old timers lol. GOD bless you for this site. Keep it up!

Some great Stryper on this album based on what I've listened to. "The Reign" in particular features some of the most amazing guitar work by Oz Fox. That said, the ballads on IGWT may easily be considered "cringe" by most standards.
I saw part of an interview with Michael Sweet where he remarked that they felt the album was overproduced as they were trying to sound too commercial in some ways which overly softened certain aspects of the in-your-face sound that usually makes Stryper what they are. The heavy tracks (like this one) still hold their own; but the ballads definitely suffered imo.
