    What she did:
    1. She washed her hair once a week
    2. On the weekends, she did coconut oil masks.
    3. She slept in and used protective styles every day and night.
    4. Used no heat.
    5. Learned a lot of DIY hair care recipes.
    6. Cut out sulfates and silicones.
    7. Get a blunt cut. No layers.
    8. Goes every 6 months to get a trim (half an inch or 1 inch)

My hair was tailbone length but I chopped it off to my jawline. My hair got damaged with all the trips I had to take in one month. NGL I love how it looked. I also needed a change. And I too believe that people should have fun and experiment with their hair while they can. I only oil (it's a mixture of essential oils, Ayurvedic oils, coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil, etc.) my hair once a week and keep it for a day or two and reapply oil to my ends and places where I need denser hair. Then I wash it off the next day. That's my wash day. I changed to a wooden comb and use a 600 GSM microfiber towel for drying my hair. It's little past my shoulders now. IDC how long it takes as long as it grows healthily ❤️ your videos are very inspiring and I wait for them every week.

it took me such a long time to accept my natural hair texture i always wanted straight hair like pin straight that everyone had in my family but i got semi wavy semi straight hair . I straightened my hair everyday cause i only felt pretty if my hair was straight or that my hair doesn’t compliment my outfit. Ive given up heat completely for about 2 1/2 years now and im not looking back my hair has been the healthiest and has grown bc of it. I still have my days where i wish i had straight hair or bc of this quarantine being bored fighting the temptation to straighten it but im getting better at fully accepting my natural hair and learning ways to style it . Sleeping in braids and wearing my hair wavy is my go to ✨💕😊

I‘m literally the opposite! I’m the only one in my family with pin straight hair and I hate it so much! I feel like it‘s ‚dragging‘ my face downwards and I just do not feel confident with it. I always do everything I can for it to be the tiniest bit wavy, like sleeping with braids etc. it never lasts long but it gives me sort of more confidence. Please appreciate your wavy hair cause I‘d die for it!!

Thank you for sharing! Hair styling with heat (and bleach/dye/silicones, etc.) is such a vicious cycle ugh. I’m going through the “ugly” phase right now and it’s a process. It’s so much harder to give up damaging habits and grow hair once you’re in your 20s and up. Bc you feel the pressure to style your hair for work, parties, events, etc. Quarantine is actually helping me stay on my hair journey.

I straighten my hair once a week and my hair is tailbone length only problem is I have a few split ends, but I've gone 1 year without trimming now, I think you can definitely choose either to bleach your hair or style it with heat but you just have to do it carefully. My hair is so long now that it takes 4 hours to straighten and I think I will stop doing it once it gets longer because is too time consuming, but heat isn't all that bad! I find that your health and genetics influence your hair growth way more than external factors

In high school my hair was to my butt and then I cut off all the dead parts from heat styling and my hair was cut to my upper middle back. Then it grew back and even thought I didn’t use any heat and used sulfate paraben free products, my hair still broke because I didn’t sleep using or use in general, any protective styles. Then a couple weeks ago I cut it again close to the same length I cut it before and now I’m taking even more care of my hair and pampering it so it can grown all one thickness and be healthy ❤️

Your hair is gorgeous, shiny and healthy. Mine is about mid-back length. I just trimmed off about two inches to get rid of the dry, uneven ends. I usually trim about an inch a year. I'm going through hormonal changes at my stage of life, so taking biotin has been essential to thickness, growth, and overall health. It has made a huge difference. So has using protective styles, and sleeping in a satin cap. I have about five inches to go before I reach tailbone length, which is my ultimate goal. Thanks for being there through some of my hair growth Odyssey.

I’ve followed almost all of your hair growth challenges since then and my hair now reaches my bottom rib. Now I’ve gotten my curly hair back for the first time since childhood! My goal is hip length for now. Once I reach my goal length, I want to get it shaped to make my curls look their best. Jeantte Rivera It was definitely closer to two years and it’s still not where it used to be, but the health is much more important. When it was short I wore it in a low bun most of the time so I really limited heat and cleaned up my routine and was really strict for those 2 years. There isn’t necessarily a secret. I was just patient and it was long again before I knew it! I know the struggle though of feeling like it doesn’t grow!

My hair has always been unruly, difficult to manage, frizzy and different textures. I have always tried to care for my hair (without knowing a damn thing). I paid attention to my hairdresser's advice. Theoretically good product (they make me cringe now), no heat at all. My hair never grows past my boobs. Then I got sick of it all and straightened it once a week (deep conditioning and protecting my hair from the heat, at least). I started getting into natural hair before knowing any of the cgm or anything. I kept my hair natural, but I bleached and dyed my "bangs" for fun. I don't regret it, I always keep face framing tresses anyway.
Today I wear all my hair natural. No dyes, no silicones (that I know of, I've read the ingredients of all my products and I cannot find them so...). My hair has never grown longer than boob length, but I'm embracing its waves, the textures, etc. I follow you and other natural hair girls to encourage me and make me hope I could one day get waist length hair (my goal). Let us hope.
Thank you, Anna. You're a gift!

Remember layers mean split ends higher up to the top layer, they can not be trimmed successfully without removing more hair from the longer layer below every trim means your hair looses bulk and eventually you have to cut it all off above the top layer.
Layers are the worst if you want long healthy hair, the myth of layers is adding texture and bulk, reality is the opposite it will take away the health of your hair as well as prevent it getting longer.

Consider finding whether your hair is high/low porosity, for me as someone with high porosity hair, I need to be consistent when it comes to moisturizing it. I learned a method called pmp which stands for penetrate, moisturize and protect. So before I take a shower I like to put coconut oil on my hair while it's still dry then after I shower (I use sulfate/ silicon/ paraben free shampoo and conditioner) I use a leave-in.
I personally have textured hair but I usually wear it straight, I don't use any heat on it however, I just wrap it wet after applying a little bit flaxseed gel. The morning after when my hair is dry I use castor oil because it's pretty thick and it protects my hair from friction and just locks the moisture in and I use small amounts frequently throughout the week so my hair doesn't get oily.
I hope this might help you in any way, I definitely recommend flaxseed gel because it leaves my hair softer than ever just don't use too much or else it'll look crunchy.

Hi Anna!! Wow!! Teen years were hard hair days. I wore a Dorthy Hamil and a Bob, until age 38!! I did not start growing until 38. I have done two big chops since then. But now, like you I have researched you tube, and have found natural hair care that is working. I do a hair mask every 5 to 6 days. I use Cali a Moisturizing shampoo and Conditioner, and just love it way better, than grocery store brands, which have harsher chemicals. Also, I don't eat animals. I eat produce, fish, lentils, potatoes quinoa, nuts and seeds and oils. I am mastering healthy foods, during Covid. It is fun!! I save 50% by shopping ALDI. You must try!! Your 10 year hair journey has been very interesting. It is beautiful now!! It is a science adventure!! With all of my hair care changes, it is fuller, thicker, shinier, and stronger. It is a goal of mine to grow strong and long, 28 inches. I am almost 54, with some grey around the face frame, but I embrace it, and do not like the artificially of hair dye, in middle age people, especially. You are so accomplished at 23!!! Good girl!! Keep up your confidence, spirituality, goals, and aspirations!! You can create yourself as you go along with personal and haircare!! Just an idea??? Some organization baskets would look really cool on your shelves, to contain care items!! Just a thought!! Anna, this fall, I hope that you do more videos of hair care, styles, masks and more!! I love organic products!! Maybe, at Christmas, I can try the innate life?! It looks wonderful!!! Stay well, as always!!!😘🤗, Leslie, in MI

Gives that nice less hair i don’t know I’m very bad at explaining lol. Even in my school days, I haven't colour my hair. Neither I tried any of tools not I cut them harshly in any kind of hairstyle.
I just had simple/thick/straight and levelled hair.
Yeah, I'm also seeing transformation. From then and now.... How they have changed from thick to little thin. How they got V shape to levelled end (all its own).
My goal is to get levelled dense hip length hair like yours while I'm stuck with V shape. I do trimming when they require just to level them, then they again get their V back. Actually.. what i noticed is the diameter of my hair strand decreases from top to bottom. Just like breakage.
How to get them root to end alike?
    How to increase the density?
