I’ve decided to start my own channel of myself (plat/ diamond) attempting to improve and get to grand champ (hopefully) through the tutorials of streamers/ training packs/ and free play along with games of course. I disagree about turn off quickchat. Sometimes your teammates make calls (on left or on right), or they call you to go for kick off, positioning alerts etc. Maybe turn off other team's quickchat but not your own..
I am SO mad that the only issue I was having was adapting. I simply wasn’t adapting to my opponents I was trying to go for the same stuff on everyone I realize now that I need to adapt to the situation and use only what mechanics I need… like if the defense is bad then boom it to the back wall and get a double but if it’s good control it until they jump and then touch it over them for a goal… it seems so simple now
In specific circumstances (like your team being low boost after defending for a while) yes, and that’s only if you don’t boom it straight towards an opponent like many players do.

Excellent video. Everyone talks about learning air roll but not one single content creator really dives into how to use your controller to learn it. Bind directional air roll, yes, do workshop maps yes. But it would be nice if someone actually dove into how to move the sticks to accomplish this. When I watch videos with a controller over lay the movements do not look anything like what the over lay is showing. I want to know why, I really want to deeply understand controller movement. Am I alone in this?
It honestly takes, just like everything in rl, a lot of practice. If you practice the air roll workshop maps and put enough hours in you will get better and the controller movements will eventually become natural.
Grifflicious has a good video on how to approach ARL/R: Reduce your controller input to only one direction - learn to fly with ARL + only top-left for example. It's possible, and not that hard. Once you understand that (by trial and frustrating error, yes) -> move on to another direction. However, once it "clicks" (and it will) it feels so rewarding :D so good luck and keep at it with patience and focus :)
Listen I had the exact same question as you. I did not understand how to control the air roll. Don’t get me wrong I’m still not very good at it. I also have improved my air rolling so much since I first started practicing it. Just play rings maps forcing yourself to air roll. Start off using it alittle bit for adjustments then switch to holding it down after some practice. There is kind of a rhythm to it. If your on console just fly around the map turnijng in the air in the corners. Also with all that being said. Your main focus shouldn’t be air roll
air roll is the only mechanic that you really just have to go to a ring map and hold boost and spin. I was like you trying to learn air roll the way you described it but what really did it for me was doing what i said for hours until my brain learned what direction i go, now i can air roll and i cant tell you how to position the sticks to go a direction, my brain just knows. muscle memory
You have to control the ball around those players. The faster they challenge the eaisier it is. Controlling isnt always about dribbling. Get a light touch to the side that you can follow up then those quick to challenge players will make lots of mistakes and you can punish them.
@@CosmicElder That's the annoying thing, soft touch to side. They smash me off the ball, or they manage to win it. Soft touch to wall to make wall play, they hit it, soft touch up high to carry over them, they double jump. It's just endless ball chasing on their end. If I do a touch and let them hit, my teammate is right behind me ready to over commit. Worst of all is when I try to do a soft touch, barely moving forward, and the ball bounces off my car and goes flying back at the opponent, whos of course super sonic and flying at me like a bat out of hell.
That's where the 50s come in. Extremely important. You need to know how to control 50s (using side flips). I am also C1 (peaked c2) and have been improving my 50s recently after watching Air charged.
But can we train our air controller and stuff that we need work on qnd also can we chat to our teammates aka our friends we play with but don't have a mic and uses quick chat to do comms

Turning off quick chat can be good, but for me personally, I hate it talking to a wall. I wanna motivate my tm8 with no problem if he did a mistake or if he cant safe a goal cause a few seconds before I did a mistake to tell him it's my bad. If u feel your m8 doesn't care about anything, my motivation for this match is going down. Disable the other team is a much better option to me than muting my tm8 unless u got a toxic mate
I hit champ today(again). I have a tm8 who has very good mechanics hut i am a game sence player. Is that good or I sould find a game sence duo. One other question:pls reply and say that y need the right speed and rotation for every rank because my tm8 wants redirecta and suddenly the oppobents have posesion and they are scoring us
appjack said in his podcast that you should be looking to be a well rounded player and you cant be just the goalie or the mechanical one on your team you need to be able to do everyjob well

It does. Anytime i was against plats i long shot into their net and it's ggs. They cant defend a high ball using backwards saves and you can bet they are always overcommitted.
I ranked up faster on my own than I did with Luke’s “training camp” nonsense. His “training program” is pretty much useless because everything in it is stuff you do on your own. Basically it’s like paying for a college education only for someone to give you a list of books to go buy and read.

Personally i find quick chats very useful for kickoffs you can tell your teammate that your left or right or faking
yeah so I think you probably should use team quick chat so you can still see what your tm8s are saying but not your opponents.

I can't NOT boom the ball away in D3/c1....If I try to control, I have the opponent challenging me before I can even start ground controlling it.

let them challenge u just make sure the challenge goes into ur corner so either u or ur tm8 can get the ball and reset the play

Flakes road to ssl even tho it only goes to about gc2 but the tactics and info might be enough to get ssl
At that point, it's consistancy and not making mistakes.
But I can only speak for 1v1 as I play worse in 2v2 and was only gc3 last season
