I'm thinking I could make a bunch of even smaller ones for gifts (to sit on a North facing window sill). Great information. I once had a giant one (back in the sixties) that was almost 3 feet in diameter and sitting on a solid white plastic base - James Bond era. I filled it with African Violets and they LOVED it. I think they like to be in groups. Anyway, It had a small opening at the top and after the first time I planted them, I ignored it for over a year. They were totaling happy and gorgeous. I put it outside on the porch in the summer (Florida) and everyone was amazed at how beautiful it was - completely loaded down with plants, all colors and shades. I had so many babies I was running out of friends to give them to. Then when we moved, I set them in the garage waiting for their turn for the ride to the new house and I forgot them. They froze. I've been sorry, since. The plastic was so out of style that I trashed it - what a moron. I wish I had it now but have never seen anything like it since. Thanks for this great video.
My mom had one of those! I loved it, wish I had it now. lol
Circular polarizing filter will take care of the reflections.
Came here to say this!
Derno LOL!
For the syringe! DOLLAR TREE sells the flavor injector syringes in the kitchen section. Toss the needle portion and there is a large plastic syringe left for your plants!
Thanks for the tip!
Tks for your help
Uh oh I’ve fallen into a RUclips loop with your videos, watched all night and planted seed trays now I’m doing a terrarium! Happy Lockdown from London!
I think it turned out great and no problem seeing what you were doing. 😊🌵
The cactus prick... I felt that!🌵😬
I love the Owl hooting sound in the background
Once again you killed it... I love your technics, Keep it up sister! 🤩
It's really beautiful! This is the first time I've ever seen Laura place just 3 plants in a container haha 😊
Missed these videos 🌵😌 would love the plant names written on screen - x love from Australia 💞
Jorgia Ifopo the names are in the info box below the video if you missed them.
Thanks, I know! 😁 Just would like to see them as I'm watching
I have been using small gravel in the bottom of my pots! I will stop doing that, thank you for the fyi!! I will also look into hydo stones! Also several useful tips on terrariums - thank you! Love terrariums!! 😍🌿💚❤🌵🌵🌵❤💚🌿
THE VIDEO WAS GREAT, NO WORRIES! I love the simplicity of it, very nice. I've never seen the star shaped succulent, adorable. I thank you Laura for all the helpful info. I love succulents also. I always enjoy all your videos very informative and helpful. Thank you so much and GOD bless you for bringing such beauty into our lives.
SerpaDesign films alot of terrariums, I'm not sure what equipment he uses but his videos always look good.
You're too hard on yourself, you can see everything very well. Looks great
Looks like driftwood.💥
It turned out beautiful Laura! Take care of your hands, use gloves and cream often.🌱💜🌱🤗
Very beautiful arrangement! Would love to see an update on that really big arrangement you put together in the watering can and hung up in the sun room, even just an Instagram pic update 😉
I have missed these videos of step my step. . You make me smile
I like how you used the plant roots. They look like tiny pieces of driftwood🙂.
Awesome as usual. I love your potting videos especially for succulents and cacti
Thank you for all these amazing videos. You guys really work hard on keeping us updated and we can feel the love!
WHOA 600K ! WOOT! 🙌
"MINIMAL LOOKING!" That's hilarious coming from you!!! :)
Polarizer filter on your camera lens for removing the glare on glass and water. Look at the ones they have to offer on the Hoya website.
Careful, this one can be poky... Ow! Love you Laura! I love that you leave your "bloopers" in sometimes. It makes you real. Keep up the good work with all of your awesome videos!!! Would you do a chicken update?
I can hear a bird singing ha ha
I was just re-watching your parents’ garden tour when the new video notification came up!!! Yayyy. Thank you!!!
I re-watch the tours every now&then. But Im not addicted to G.A..ha😊 Best videos on youtube.😀💗🌸
Love it! I feel your pain, you need some salad/kitchen tongs for this project. A straw works great for removing dirt as well. I just finished a 12 inch shallow pot of succulents for a gift, as well as a table top fountain planter combo with a tiny waterfall (kinda want to keep them for myself). lol I have a vintage clear tea/coffee pot in my kitchen planted with just moss with a trio of miniature toad stools. I love terrariums and have several, and I'm always on the lookout for unusual containers for the next one.
600k subscribers! Congratulations!🎉
First one reminds me of a star fish and a sand dollar
Try using metal tongs to hold cactus' with thorns. Or use newspaper to hold the cactus either way you won't get those fine needles in your fingers to pick out for months. Living in the desert has taught me respect for cactus. Beautiful but dangerous. I had a cactus garden in my backyard in Vegas, it was nice.
That astrophytum is so cute. It looks like a starfish. I’ll keep my eye out for that guy! And the faux driftwood is the perfect touch with it.
Looks cute.
Woow IAM algérien and i love cactus and succelent Sow match tank you
Kitchen tongs might work for placing any prickly cactus.
Great video ☺ have you thought about doing a container pond??
Beautiful! I actually loved the vlog style for this. It was the best option 🤗.
Thanks for the inspiration Laura! 💕
Just a quick idea, use a pair of long handled tweezers when putting those pesky cactus with thorns on them down into the bowl. They work really great and you don't get stuck. Love the sound of the morning dove in the background.
Oh my word that is pretty
You can also use a rolled up piece of light weight card board as a funnel for small rocks and sand. Love the syringe for sand too. Chopsticks for cacti placement are great if you are good with them ... recycle when possible.
So cute, a tiny little desert with plants. Lol
Those are so pretty. Wish I had room in my house for them. You make such beautiful arrangements. I don't know how you keep up with everything. Can't wait to see the next one!
Hi Garden Answer. I wish I knew your name. Oh well. I use plastic coated tongs to work with my cacti. You can control them as to how tight you hold the plant. Just a suggestion. Have a good evening. Yes this video was 4 weeks ago I realize.
It looks great.
Hey Laura, you're about to hit 600,000 subscribers! Woot! That means you picked up 100,000 subscribers since April (when you hit 500,000)! Four months = 100,000 subscribers. Congrats!
Nice work! Could you Wrap Thorny Cactus w\Newspaper to make handling easier? I know, those pricks can be wicked.
Beautiful!!! Looks like you transplanted a tiny slice of desert.
Oh, it turned out so beautiful
This is such a neat project! You do make it look so easy which has encouraged me to at least try. It almost sounded like someone tooting on a tin horn in the background. I told myself it was Benjamin 😍
Thanks for this video. I didn't realize that I could use that planter which I used for amaryllis bulbs in winter could also be used as a terrarium. Great idea.
Beautiful😍💖 I do homecare and a syringe for using with a medical feeding tube works just as well😂
The root is a wonder addition. You have such a good eye!
Love your videos, you have great energy and are so inspiring! The plants and flowers have helped heal my life and I know how healing they are to be around. Thanks for all that you do! 💖
I love terrariums, don't know why I never made one.
Beautiful! I “inherited” my Dads cactus plants and have kept them alive but now need to maybe repot or set up terrariums. Great info as usual! Thanks!
Video turned out great👍
So Cute!!
Looks really neat! My big hands would not fit in there, great job! Thanks for sharing.🌞
Thank you....Enjoyed .
That was fantastic!
Please do a fairy garden..you haven't done one in a long time
I could see everything just fine. It turned out very pretty. 😀
Forgive me cause I 😂😂😂, ,, you need surgical tweezers. They work great for tiny cacti ! !! It's beautiful.😍😍😍
Kitchen tongs work great as well!
Love how this came together!! It looks so nice in the house too. Thank you for sharing!
This is so perfect! I have an old fish bowl that I was planning on turning into a terrarium!!
My favourite kind of videos ❤❤❤
Super precise precision sand placing tool 😂🌵
Clever use of the syringe!
I live in the Astrophytum myriostigma native range, and seeing them on habitat it's hard to believe that they would perform well on terrariums!
Such an interesting cactus.
Hi Laura! Thanks to you I have become interested in succulents! I enjoy your videos! I was curious what the plant that looks like cute little mushrooms🍄 ? Thanks again!
It looks great! That cactus got you! I really love that you love cactus and succulents as much as all the other plants you have in and around your home. Thanks for the idea! I've always wanted to do a terrarium but they intimidate me.
Glad to see someone else saves interesting branches and roots for potential future projects! Also, could we get an update on your window boxes? They look lush and lovely behind you.
Looked very nice, clear picture. No problems, went great. Have a great day.
It turned out great. I always love your aesthetic even though I am not the biggest cactus fan.
When placing cacti in terrariums, I use long handle cooking tongs. Works great for me. :)
Beautiful Laura, I love terrariums like this. You other terrarium is gorgeous as well. I would love to make one of these for my coffee table. Thank you for the inspiration to try and make one of these.
I think that was a good video and perfect for my coffee with Laura time in the morning. Thank you for this kind of information as it helps me decide what kind of project I may be able to do with the children and be able to keep alive in the classroom!
If u don't have a syringe u can always use a turkey baster. Dollarama $1.
Very nice work
Hi Laura, I wanted to know why you don't add charcoal on top of the hydrostones? Also when you use colored moss, will the color come off if it gets wet? I really enjoy your videos on indoor plants and any terrarium ideas. Cathy
Great terrarium set up!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I love the projects you tackle in just a short time.
Beautiful 😍
Haven't seen Russell lately. Summer too hot outside ?
Instead of tongs you could use a band of newspaper. Just fold a strip about an inch wide around the spines and hold the open end closed so the cactus is pinched between the newspaper. This way keeps your fingers close to allow for maneuverability and keeps your fingers safe!
Wonderful as usual! It went just fine. 👍😉. Sometimes less is more always works. Beautiful!
Looks very pretty there.
Ouch! Maybe some gloves or a tool for handling pokey succulents in the future! Beautiful arrangement though, I really liked the "landscaping" with the wood and sand.
A turkey baster from Dollar Tree also works if you don't have e a large syringe!
I see the window boxes in the background and would love to see an update :D
awesome video
Thanks Laura I now know what is wrong with mine and I can have the fun of redoing the whole thing.Video worked just great!🌵💚
You mentioned before doing a Harry Potter fairy garden of some sort. I would love to see what you come up with!
Morning from Mn....the video was great! No worries . God bless.
Love it!!!!!
That looks so cool! And thanks for the tip now my syringe can be a sand tool as well LOL! 😁
I always use a silicone -coated to ge to place cactus.
I really like it
Loved this video. I have too small of a house to have many indoor plants, but just love watching anything you tackle. I think you were too hard on yourself regarding the video, everything showed up perfect! Or maybe it showed up perfect because you were diligent. Likely the last scenario. Good job!
Countdown to 600k 😬😬
Sharp looking!!! Really like...
How do you keep the terrariums clean ? This may be a crazy question but I find they collect so much dust and then eventually the glass gets a film on it
Hi are talking about the inside with film and dust? If so you use lint free cloth with vinegar wipe it down slightly damp.
