This video was made 11 years ago and Ms. Tomanetz is still working for the school district and still cooking. She’s an awesome woman with an unmatched work ethic. God bless you Tootsie!
Young people now have no incentive. A slum apartment in Chattanooga is gonna run you to a 1000 a month in rent alone. Add utilities and food and you're near 1800-2000 for a single person. Now look at the average production worker/manufacture, pay is in average 16 to 18 an hour. After living expenses you're left with, and if lucky 1000 a month for luxuries like telephone, gasoline, car payment, insurance, clothing (usually even if for work). Tell me again how this generation is just lazy when it pays a percentage of its wages just to survive at a rate of 3 or 4 fold thier grandparents.
@@dedpoptart pfffff, I drive a truck (excellent wages) and I'm also in the Army Reserve. I pay my bills (mortgage on a 2700 sf house) and have plenty for "incidentals." Cry me a fucking river you shit for brains! Keep wearing your mask, quarantine your self, and cry VERY LOUD about how hard life is.....
Had the pleasure of trying the BBQ about a year ago when I went to a pee wee flag football game. The brisket was the best I have ever tasted, and the pork stakes were too. I have been eating and cooking BBQ a long time, they are truly as good a advertised. They use Oak wood which flavors the meat with an amazing smoke taste. Her secret to me is the temperature control of understanding her pits, and clearly understanding simple seasoning, combined with a lot of years of always improving.
Ms. Tootsie, you are amazing! Such a hard working lady who puts many of us today to shame. I hope I get to try Snow's BBQ someday. I'll set my alarm to wake up bright and early.
My Dads mother was just like that. She always would be up early in her pinny doing the ironing and cooking my Granda his breakfast. Granda had got TB working on subs during WW2 and only had one lung. Hard work did get the better of her, but she stuck by a sick man that wasn't able to pull in a huge wage. My father had one Buffalo Bill book and other than that he and his pals would ride boneshakers and make bows and arrows, they were always out and about making their own fun. Different times back then!
As a young guy, I literally share the way of thinking this lady does. I’m surrounded by fellow youth complaining about either being at work or doing work. Like she said. WORK DON’T HURT NOT ONE BIT.
We used to get BBQ at City Market in Giddings all the time when Tootsie was pitmaster there, and didn't think anything of it. Since she's gotten so much publicity at Snow's we've been tempted to go there many times, but to drive all that way early on a Saturday morning when we know what it's likely to be like...we just haven't been able to get up the motivation. Frankly, we've had 'cue that's so good there isn't much room for improvement. The hype over Snow's has got to have a lot to do with the country setting. Ambiance counts for a _lot._
*I remember her...lol...She yelled at this Young guy (Who has a Big RUclips Channel) when he came down to work at the place and he accidentally slammed one of the doors on the smoker.*
I like that quote tootsies said "work never killed anybody ". I wish all the lazy people on welfare and food stamps could hear it. GOD bless Texas hard working women and men.
You have to know who to cook B.B.Q..if you don’t have the heart or the love to B.B.Q..don’t try it. To cook B.B.Q you just know when the Q, is done.she is one of the best of the best.
I'm not sure if this is a thing, but I *can* tell you it's a thing in the lives of 5,000 San Antonio megachurch members' lives. People here make pilgrimages every weekend. They bring back hundreds of pounds of food. Birthdays, baptisms, anniversaries, births, and deaths. Here in SA, it's known to some folks as, "Going to Tootsie Snow's."
I agree with her on work don't kill anybody , I worked/retired from the railroad , 7 days a week , 10-12 hours a day , but this new generation thinks just a 40 hour week is overtime , pitiful.
I bet tootsie didn't take a lick of pain meds when she had her babies , no nerve block , nothing , she is tough as nails and sweet as a woman can be , rare find in a good woman like tootsie, her husband found the cream of the crop in a woman like tootsie, God Bless her and her family/friends
The feller that is the owner says he doesn't know why his bbq is different, most bbq places cook on indirect heat with post oak, snow's cooks over direct heat with embers, that is a faster cooking process , to fire up the pit at 1 a.m. & have bbq ready at 7 a.m. there is no way to do that on indirect heat, especially brisket

She needs to become a speaker on work ethic to the young generation... What a great example for women.
Her work ethic is a great example for both men & women, reminds me of my mother
To the young generation of Democrats!!!!
Amen

That lady is very intelligent, and its due to work that she has preserved herself and her mind so well.
Wow. Who here wants to go and have BBQ for breakfast? We’d have to get there at 5 am and line up. Bring a camp chair and a coffee.
They actually used to give free drinks to the customers waiting for their BBQ.
humility is a powerful asset.

So you're saying all that are on Governor Assistant Programs doesn't work?
It might surprise you to know, but this strong Texas woman benefits dramatically from Medicare... Even our heroes need help.

Bar-be-cue that is non-acidic and with a thick sauce, is worth a big trip.
Brava Tootsie!
Dying breed.

Love Miss Tootsie!
What a lady I bet she had a hard time keeping a man none of them probably wanted to work that hard
Now why weren't they featured on the BEST Barbecue list in Texas honey? Is it because they sell out so quickly.
