I was #50! This place is best bbq I’ve ever had. I got half a brisket, and a rack of ribs to go, put it in a cooler and traveled 4 hrs home and it was still warm.
I couldn’t care less meeting some Hollywood actor . I woke up at 5 am and left home at 6:10am then I got to the bbq place at 7:10am And there were 35 folks ahead of me . I was starstruck when I met Ms Tootsie . She’s worth it . Cheers , Claudia in Texas

I say let the DUMB ASS ignorant tourists waste 4-8 hours of their time and $100+ for this pretty average SELECT grade brisket at a highly OVER rated BBQ joint. That way us locals will have less of a line (maybe 30 minutes) at Louie Mueller or Franklins or Blacks in Lockhart. I do still have a VERY real issue with them charging the same for crappy ass Select grade brisket as opposed to the PRIME grade Franklins charges the same money or the CAB that Blacks charges $20/lb for. That's a VALUE judgment.

One of the best choices you can make in life is to eat MS. Tootsie's chicken!! Everything I had there was good but the chicken is perfect!! Too bad for me it's a 4 hour drive from the Coastal Bend so I've only had it once.

I've been to Austin several times. Every time something has came up where I couldn't get to Snow's. Out of all the places I've been in Texas for bbq Franklin's is clearly the best followed by La bbq and Valentina's my only question is it truly better at Snow's? I got to get there while Ms. Tootsie is still running the pit.

Places like Franklins use PRIME, Blacks BBQ uses Certified Black Angus and the REALLY cheap places till use "choice". And they have the nerve to charge $28 a pound for THAT? They sell CHOICE briskets all the time at Safeways, Randalls and Albertsons around Texas for $1.97/pound all the time. RIP OFF.

And if you are skeptical that I can buy Select grade briskets at less than $3.00 pound at a grocery store chain, put your money where your mouth is. And my POINT was that nearly every BBQ joint in Texas (except this one) that charges upwards of $30/lb uses either Prime or CAB briskets and ZERO I know of use Select. And its just as good...
