    I think we missed the very beginning...can I ask if you used some masking fluid or a white crayon maybe before you began painting? It's quite beautiful!

    What is the wax used for, or where is is used? used as a kind of kind of masking? Thanks. Very nice painting BTW!

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  3 месяца назад

      Yes, I use the wax as a resist to create light and texture.

    How do you get your drawing so accurate? Do you use a device to project your photo onto the paper?

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  2 месяца назад

      In this instance I used a projector to project the image onto paper. This is solely for the purpose of creating outline sketches for my Patreon members.
      I always sketch free hand for my own paintings.
      Hope this was helpful 😊

    How do you avoid ever getting cauliflowers?

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  4 месяца назад

      If they appear in your painting, you can do the following: Leave them and be proud of them! However if it really bothers you, use a small clean, damp brush and gently tease the bloom, pressing your tissue down to lift off any moisture and continue working in this way until the bloom has gone (if you have used a staining colour it may not go altogether). What you don't want to do is introduce any more moisture into your painting, otherwise you may get more. From the onset you need to ensure you don't have puddles sitting in your sky, tilt them and let them run off the side and wipe them with tissue. Also try not to put wet in damp paint. Check out this tutorial I published which you may find helpful: ruclips.net/video/lBcZ-LJ0NNY/видео.html

    Why are you spattering paint? I've never seen this done with any other media, but I see it often in watercolor. Why is this?

    • @KarenRiceArt
      @KarenRiceArt  4 месяца назад +3

      To create texture and detail. I also use spattering in Acrylics.

      I think the white spatters in this painting are reminiscent of snow flurries, which would definitely be appropriate with this type of scene
