I live in my van and i use a bag lined bucket with horse bedding pellets. $ 7 for a 40 lb bag. Last a good month or two Does not smell, empty every couple days. Pull bag and toss in trash. Very easy.
Your van is Beautiful! Very creative! I think the easiest toilet is the 3 1/2 gallon bucket , lined with 2 bags, & cat litter. For a shower a brand new hand held bug/weed sprayer. Thanks for the video! Safe travels!
A luggable Lou-about $25; a funnel into a jug for pee, and trash bags in back of it with pine pellets or cedar chips for poop. Add a couple handfuls of pellets when you go, and you should have minimal odors!
@@courtneyinwanderlust I'd go with the Luggable Loo. I've heard good things about it....whether you separate the pee into jug or not. The separating does stop the odors, though. Or keep to a bare minimum.
Walmart has 5 gallon buckets for 2.48. Then in hunting camping section a lidded toilet seat that mafd to snap on tightly, to 5 gallon bucket. I use scented trash bags and pine or cedar shavings for number 1 and 2. Then I tie bag up ( when on road ). I dispose of those as you would a baby diaper. Trash it. If you have to store those without smell, a one gallon zip lick bag will hold a few of your small trash bags. I hope this helps you of anyone.
Literally as soon as I saw the video title and thumbnail, internally I screamed “Oh my gosh, FINALLY! Where has this video been hiding?!?!” Thank you so much for sharing! I’ve been seriously trying to figure out how I can do camper/van life for a year now but I’m perpetually broke and don’t want to do a ton of building, if any. This is my dream setup! And I’ve been eyeing that table at the store for months!! Great video!!
Thank you for watching! I know my van is very rudimentary compared to so many "camper vans" out there, but it is so doable and I am so comfortable in it...when it's not 105 degrees outside, lol! If I can do it, you can too. Hope all your camper van dreams come true 🩵
Love it all, the colors are so refreshing. For the cooler you can freeze water bottles (not full to the top) instead of ice that will melt and make your food nastyLOL I use the bucket with a toilet seat. Have a blast!
As kids driving across country, my dad stopped for no one! Mom always had a red Folgers coffee can and she would store the toilet paper in there. If it was a #2 we usually stopped at a gas station. There were those times where 2 came.😂 So we learned how fast to grab the can. If you're not that handy though and need to sit for awhile then Menards carries a half bucket. It's 2.5 gallons instead of 5 it should fit right under the bed. I've seen lids you could attach but just how comfortable you want to be on your thrown is up to you. Spray paint it teal and put a nice cushion on it and make it a chair! Then, you can sit next to your table. No one but you will know.😅 I love your color scheme! It looks beautiful. Not sure if you'll be camping much but if you do you will need a little stove top to plug in or propane unless your mostly eat raw fruits and veggies. Then the cooler is just fine. And a small pot and pan. All can fit under your bed. Rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to clean them when your done cooking. I prefer cast iron. Easy to clean with paper towels. Depending on your level of camp and go a jug or two of water is essential in my book. We also take a bag of tools. Hubby does on all trips in case we break down. You never know. If your a member of AAA then, great keep the phone number handy in the glove box and a tire repair kit should be a must. Stuff your pillow cases with your clothes or jackets. Easy to find and makes them more stable. Have a great journey.
For toilet I go for 5 gallon Home Depot or Lowe’s and I made the noodle thing cut in middle and lined the top for sitting, lined with plastic and empty it out to garbage bin. Pretty neat.
Holy crap you nailed it on your first swing....What a masterpiece and so clean and uncluttered ...beautiful colors such an extension of personality!!! I frickin love your van !!!
Keeping clutter down is easier when you are not actually living out of the vehicle. Part of me wants to embrace the simplicity and minimalism of living out of an RV but I know if I were to live out of it, with four pets, I would need something fairly large. When I go camping I have a small travel trailer and it is more than big enough 😊
You're wise in starting simple. Your cooler will hold ice longer if you fold a blanket over it. Bunny is great👍 have fun out there, it's worth the effort.
If and or when you decide to upgrade to a cooler size compressor fridge make sure you get one that has the fitted insulated cover. Will increase the efficiency of your refrigerator dramatically and reduce the energy demand on your solar battery
Beautiful and you will find what works for you. Just keep it simple. Too much stuff makes it a burden like to much stuff in a house. Blessings and joy in the journey.
It looks so beautiful inside. So warm and cozy. It will be even more cozy when you put your fairy lights up. Let me know if you can't see inside at night even if your fairy lights are on.
Toilet idea: Scented Tidy Cat litter container (big one) lined with strong, scented garbage bag. You can keep the lid on to keep odor-free. Cover up with cute towel or blanket.
Very cute! I'm so glad you've got some "matchy matchy" going on. I've seen far too many "no build" builds look like a mish mash of thrown together ugliness. Yours is easy and cute! Good job! 💜
I love the colours and simplicity. So many van vids have EVERYTHING, and if I had to live in my vehicle for any reason I always think of how I'd never fit enough in to make it liveable, but this looks doable , clothing could be put into the cushions, the top of a fridge/cooler could be used as a place to heat water or cook up a meal, under the bed there's room for tubs or storage boxes for all the essentials. If there's not enough room for all the gear, there's always roof storage pods :) All is needed IMO would be a decent fan/heater, screens to keep the bugs out & a power source for charging devices....... BUT it's stuff that can be added as needed because this would be a place to sleep, a place to store personal items & room to move around, and it's a beautiful colour scheme, it makes it look fresh ,calm & inviting. I love it more than I have others I've seen that are decked out with literally everything. Well done :)
That is adorable, you did great. You can add things as you travel if you find things you like/want. A cassette toilet you would still have to have somewhere to go dump it or even have to dig a hole I forget how deep it has to be to dump it into the ground. Number one they say you could pour it on trees around the base because it helps it grow however number to you have to bury. Cassettes toilets do not separate number one and number two. A bucket and a Lucy Lu top that has a lid you can pour whatever you want to use at the bottom and you can also separate your number one and number two yourself. You can use the bucket for number two and any kind of container that you're able to go number 1 in and cap it. If you mix those two that's what makes it smell. And once you got it tied up you can throw it in any trash receptacle. Now the other ones the composting toilets, those are very expensive. I have used the bucket system at home when my bathroom was not functional and I had no problem with it. I believe it's called Lucy Liu you can buy that at Walmart for $11 ish that'll fit on a 5 gallon bucket and has a seat and a lid. You can buy the buckets at Home Depot or Lowe's excetera. You can also use a pool noodle, cut a slit to fit onto the bucket and over the bag to hold it in. Take the pool noodle off and they have lids for those buckets that screws on that keeps it from smelling.
You can get a 5 gallon bucket that has a toilet lid attached and you can buy liners that are biodegradable I believe and you just use that for emergency and tie it up and throw it away. It should not be mixed with urine so you would need a container for that. 20:20
I love the turquoise colour scheme. I would invest in a cassette toilet tbh. For the blackout curtain or clothes rod, there are really cheap extending poles that'd fit tight with rubber stopper ends. Can't wait for your next additions, it's a lovely van, thanks for sharing!
Very nice set up. As far as a toilet, I'd personally do a collapsible camping toilet with lid using bags and kitty litter/wood chips or pellets. I have this with a large ice cream tub to use for air tight, "dirty" garbage storage until I can get to a proper garbage/dumpster. Good luck; can't wait to see more!
Nice and simple. The beauty of this design is that you can easily reverse the process in minutes if you ever want to sell the van as a cargo van. We drive a class B Travato but helping my son with his NV200 conversion like yours. He has a portable fold down toilet, and we installed a solar panel on top that charges a Jackery inside for his electronics.
There a lot of van life. Get either a five gallon or small pail with a sealing lid, for smell issues. Use saw dust or horse pellets. I use saw dust for my cat and it cut the smell to almost gone. Use a bag and put into a ziplock bag to throw away. If it's small enough, you can hide it in a storage ottomon.
Luggable Loo, Eco Gel and bio degradable bags is going to be the easiest toilet to bring with you. Cassette toilets are only great for RVs designed to contain them, in a small van it will be too easy to have a poo/pee spill or explosion from the pressure that builds up in them. Eventually you're going to want to decide on how to insulate the bare metal because the summers are going to be way more uncomfortable than winters. I love your beautiful festive colors and I got the Coleman cot too!
Hey nice setup not cluttered love it like this lots of ways to put ur cooking equipment ND clothes ND personal things small widemouth coffee container for bathroom until u get to a toilet or a bucket with bags ND pellets 😅😮 grateful content ❤❤❤❤❤
It looks very nice. There are a lot of videos on building you own camper van some of the no builds, like yours. I have watched many although I don't have any immediate plans to do it. I think what works for you in your vehicle may be different in someone elses. But we can get a modge of solutions from each one and incorporate it into our own situation. I know a lot of people are using the bucket system for a toilet or composting ones. What I learned recently is that some get a type of pellet or horse bedding that is made with pine and it expands as it gets wet and last a very long time with no odors. It is at Tractor Supply and I think it comes in 40 lb. bags. Then I gues you could always bury it in a boon docking situation. Either way it sounds like something better than cat litter, natural and easy to find. Just thought I'd share what I learned in case you want to try that route. Look forward to watching more of your videos.
Thanks for watching! Yes, I love that there are so many different ideas out there and so many ways to do something like this! Kinda have to pick and choose what works best for you. I did go ahead and buy the pellets...they work well!
Your super fun! I love your set up, simple is good. I use a peanut jar or 1 it has a wide rim, no funnel needs and it screws shut. Small enough to go into a shopping bag to dump when you can.
I saw Bunny's video and I bought an NV200. I am starting with a beach trip first I am nervous but adventure awaits. I will meet both you and Bunny one day. Following you right now.
We bought a Coleman toilet they are small enough to maybe fit under your bed in the camper and they flush like a regular toilet you fill them with toilet stuff buy at Walmart and use rv toilet tissue and once they full you can flush it down a regular toilet or at a campsite dumping area we love ours I am a big sized woman and it worked great for me. So anyone can use it. And it was like 50. Dollars might be more now this was years ago
I love Hey-Hey! Actually, he and your pillows give a great contacting pop of color, it looks great. Remember, what you said, YOU have to do what you have to do. Your build is nice because it is free of clutter and spacious, and that is a pretty table!
I love your courageous attitude, inventive ideas and your pretty camper. You have a kind and gentle spirit. You will be a nice addition to the camping world. Ignore the joy suckers! 💞🌷💞
What are you using to cook on? Water storage? Do you have a way to heat your van? For a loo, uset a 5 gal bucket. Line w/plastic bag, add pool noodle around rim. Use bucket in case of emergencies if desired. You can also store cleaning supplies, extra bags in bucket. Use the lid to sit on for extra seating. Good luck!
I car camped in an SUV and at my age I get up at least once during the night to go and I used a small bucket with a pool noodle cut to fit on the top rim, with a good plastic bag and I used cat litter because that is what I had. It worked perfect 👍
Temu has lots of camping items for pretty cheap! Your van looks great. The cot is such a great idea! I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else do that. Where did you find your van and around how much was it? Planet fitness is where everyone goes for showers and bathroom. The bucket 🪣 is one of the cheapest. I'd try that first!
Looks real cute and cozy. I have a Ford escape, smaller than your van. I like your bed set up better than my board and outdoor lounge Pad. Camped two summers plus dog. Like yours better. Thanks for your information. Happy travels.
A WW2 friend of mine told me when I asked if he had a bathroom in their trailer… he said yeah Bucket 🪣 and Chuck it 😂 he laughed but said hey it works 😊 Amazon sells toilet seat lid (covers) to go on the buckets.
I use a bucket with pipe foam for seat and have another bucket with gamma lid for trash and waste bags until I find a place throw it all away. The bucket toilet can be used for other things as well, storage , shower water , collecting wood . How do you like your Nissan ? Have you had any problems with it mechanically ? I’m undecided between that type van of a minivan. I’m car camping now so either of them will be a huge upgrade for me. I hope you’re enjoying your travels !
Those are great ideas! I finally ended up finding a fairly cheap collapsible toilet and I'm pretty happy with it! I'm loving my Nissan so far...no issues as of yet and I bought it with 90,000 miles already on it. She's going strong 💪! Happy travels to you! 🚐💨
If you were to put a swivel on your passenger seat, you could use that as your chair...and the toilet situation could be a simple 3 galon bucket with a toilet seat you purchase from wally world along with wood chips/horse pellets or you could try the stuff they putina bed pan to make your liquid turn to a gel and that doesnt weigh much like the other stuff i mentioned. Great video and tha ks for sharing with us. Have a blessed day. 🌴
Bucket with seat and bag. Rei. Later, dry flush. You’ll need one of those under bed totes to hold wipes, water to wash hands, baby wipes, foaming hand soap. I would do if I wasn’t so old!
Great simple build, it's good to see how the coleman fits in the nv200 *just need a portable toilet, a jackery, and a mini fridge like a Dometic or similar
Dometics are nice but terribly expensive.. Bob Wells has a great video on some of the newer brands that are way cheaper. I bought TMPC40F0... I know right lol crazy brand name there but it came with the insulated thermal cover I've had it two years now and it's been working great I think I paid 250 for the 20 Litre with insulated cover. But there are dozens of cheaper options now.. do your research read the reviews but a lot of people are having good luck with the cheaper brands
@@courtneyinwanderlust come to my place..I'll give ya a few more. My Florida has flies..mosquitos..gnats..fuzzy caterpillars falling from trees and crawling everywhere.... Lol.
I had to come back. Solar fairy lights. Attach with one screw your solar panel out back window. No batteries to buy. I have them. 100 lights 6.98 at Walmart. Portable toilets are available but 5 gallon bucket 2:48. Then in camping/hunting section a lidded snap on toilet seat 12 dollars. Will not spill. Then I discard the trash bag full of shavings and content away as you would a baby's diaper. If on road a 1 gallon zip bag helps with smell. It will hold a few tied up garbage bags. I just buy the small cheaper scented bags. Hope any of this helps. I try to use solar or USB charged items. I have a Walmart usb sink faucet also works well. The empty water jugs it fits are 6 dollars but the hose comes with, can be dropped into any container. Peace and Enjoy!!!!! Oh I use pine or cedar shavings in my bucket. Helps smell also. Bye Now! 😂 I can talk hunting, camping and dogs all day long. I also live off grid. Camper and my dads old hunting cabin ( I'm remodeling, now ). Ya ever make it to Tennessee. Free parking, water fill up and a hot meal I can offer you. . Lol
@@courtneyinwanderlust I wasn't thinking about price difference from state to state. I included what I paid so it would give you ideas. I hope its cheaper not higher where you are.
I have a 2009 caravan no build of course we don't have space for Hi-Tech bathroom solutions in the minivan lol mostly I stay places where there is access to a bathroom but I fill up quart size freezer bags with kitty litter inside 12-ounce coffee can in case I have to pee in the middle of the night I can do that in the van. Seal the bag protected inside the sealed can disposed of at first possible moment... Now for the other situation I had originally bought one of those toilet seats that fits on top of a 5-gallon bucket I never bought the five gallon bucket because I quickly figured out I don't have a good place to store a 5-gallon bucket inside my van I had this little wire trash can I bought one of those foam pool noodles cut it up to line the rim of the little trash can with the bag inside of it as an emergency toilet I had to use it once trust me it worked lol... Also to eventually you will want one of those little foldable spade shovels out in the Deep woods you can always dig a hole lol I have one of those little shovels it comes in handy for all kinds of things... Sorry to ramble on this is all in appreciation and inspiration from your awesome van no build !! You have a lot of opportunity to be creative with this one and you will find what works for you no worries.. there are tons of products and tons of videos and different ways to get it done
I have seen people use an Igloo drink cooler that has the spout. Get a toilet seat lid. Maybe in camping section or potty chairs for kids. Put double bag inside and put some Kitty litter or pine pellets in bottom of bag. You can put the lid on securely and dispose of bag when necessary
You can buy a cheap bucket and a lid, bin bag a litter for no 2, pee bottle for no 1. You can buy a collapsible toilet. Nice clean set up. I part-time car camp in my car and that happened by accident. Don't let the pretty vans put you off, go out and use what you have, or stay stagnant. Those are the choices, and for me that wasn't a option. Part-time solo female car camper. Next for you, power station or a really good power bank. Never be without a phone with battery life. 🇬🇧
You can get a 5 gallon bucket or a 2 gallon oil change bucket from wal mart and the camping toilet seat. Get some horse pellet bedding to go in trash bags in your bucket. Th 2 gal will fit under your bed. I have a NV 200 sv 2014, I’m working on my 2nd no build, after going on a 3 month trip, tweaking to make cooking inside easier, after all the rainy and windy weather,I had on my trip. My bed was too wide I purchased a camp chair/ bed The end of the bed folds back into love seat length or into a chair. And added a Lounge chair cushion for more comfort. Happy travels🤗💕
Yep, it doesn't have to be more complicated for fair weather camping a few nights. I am planning a little more "build" with insulation, heater and a small electrical setup, but still in a NV and a budget build, but until I have time to do that, I will travel with a setup like your.
Awesome! Yes, with my set-up, I'm kind of going to have to chase that fair weather, but it sounds like you're going to have a real nice set up for more flexibility! I'm looking forward to future improvements in mine. Safe travels to you!!
I live in my van and i use a bag lined bucket with horse bedding pellets. $ 7 for a 40 lb bag. Last a good month or two
Does not smell, empty every couple days. Pull bag and toss in trash. Very easy.
Those pellets work so well! I basically use a bucket and line it with a bag also. It is so easy!!
Definitely good hearing from someone not crafty or a builder 😊

This is exactly what I'm envisioning for my first van. Minimalistic with good flow.
Toilet: small bucket with cover & bag with 1-2" horse stall pellets in bottom.
Sounds simple enough! 👍

Hey nice setup not cluttered love it like this lots of ways to put ur cooking equipment ND clothes ND personal things small widemouth coffee container for bathroom until u get to a toilet or a bucket with bags ND pellets 😅😮 grateful content ❤❤❤❤❤
Very nice I want it. God Bless and take care wherever you go
Simple, yet quite lovely. Nice.
Looks great!! 💖
Your super fun! I love your set up, simple is good. I use a peanut jar or 1 it has a wide rim, no funnel needs and it screws shut. Small enough to go into a shopping bag to dump when you can.
There are so many ways of doing things...I love hearing them all! And thank you so much for watching 😊
I saw Bunny's video and I bought an NV200. I am starting with a beach trip first I am nervous but adventure awaits. I will meet both you and Bunny one day. Following you right now.
Awesome! A beach adventure sounds so nice...planning one now! Hope to see you out on the road!
Simple and looks very comfortable.
I’m so excited to follow your journeys !! Beautiful van 😍
Ah, thank you!! 💗
I love the color scheme love that duvet
Beautiful now get out there and enjoy your life. Stay safe and God bless you in your travels. 🥰👍
Thank you so much! 💓
I love your courageous attitude, inventive ideas and your pretty camper. You have a kind and gentle spirit. You will be a nice addition to the camping world.
Ignore the joy suckers!
💞🌷💞
Very kind words! Thank you so much!! 💓
Amazing job
This is so cute and approachable ❤love the color scheme too
3:20 tour begins
4:20 Coleman cot -
4:50 - bed has springs like a real bed
This is perfect!
you can get flexible solar panels you can stick to roof and use 12 volt lights
The van looks awesome! Enjoy the journey!❤
Good luck!
Love it😊
I car camped in an SUV and at my age I get up at least once during the night to go and I used a small bucket with a pool noodle cut to fit on the top rim, with a good plastic bag and I used cat litter because that is what I had.
I like your bed set up better than my board and outdoor lounge
Pad. Camped two summers plus dog. Like yours better. Thanks for your information. Happy travels.
Thank you! Happy travels to you!!
Love it!!!
Your van is so cute I love it
I have same van outfitted very similarly! You have done a beautiful job! Thank you for posting!
Aw, thank you so much!!
This looks great, I enjoyed tent camping but after an accident that is just too hard now. I love your van ❤️
@debraworth8861 Thank you so much! 🩵 I much prefer the coziness/security of my van versus tent camping.
A WW2 friend of mine told me when I asked if he had a bathroom in their trailer… he said yeah Bucket 🪣 and Chuck it 😂 he laughed but said hey it works 😊
Amazon sells toilet seat lid (covers) to go on the buckets.
🤣
Awesome van 🚐
That comforter set is beautiful!!
Thank you! I love it
I use a bucket with pipe foam for seat and have another bucket with gamma lid for trash and waste bags until I find a place throw it all away.
Sorry about the typos... not easy typing out words on the phone with fat fingers 😂
Lol! I hear ya! I have been thinking about putting a swivel on that seat 🤔
Love the simplicity of your van setup
Thank you! ❤️
Very cool. Very, very cool. I love it!
Bucket with seat and bag. Rei. Later, dry flush. You’ll need one of those under bed totes to hold wipes, water to wash hands, baby wipes, foaming hand soap. I would do if I wasn’t so old!
Happy and healthy new year!😊
Cool. Great job!
Looks great. Love the cow pillow!!
Cute and love the colors. Like that cot
Thank you! 🩵
Great simple build, it's good to see how the coleman fits in the nv200
*just need a portable toilet, a jackery, and a mini fridge like a Dometic or similar
@@jayburke1601 Set Point is a cheaper one
@@michaeldowning7094 does that one come with the insulated cover ?
Entirely too clean and pretty!!! Lol. Love it. Love the table...you think your the only one with flies? LOL!!!! BUGS ARE PART OF OUTDOORS..NOMAD LIFE
Lol! Thank you!! Yeah, I'm afraid the flies will be regular guest stars!
@@courtneyinwanderlust come to my place..I'll give ya a few more. My Florida has flies..mosquitos..gnats..fuzzy caterpillars falling from trees and crawling everywhere.... Lol.
@courtneyinwanderlust yesterday on my comment I meant..luggable loo..toilet. walmart or amazon
Your chookies are so cute! I love your colour scheme.❤ watching from NZ 👋
Hey there! 👋 I'll be honest, I had to Google "chookies" lol! Thank you so much!! ☺️🩵🐔
Free parking, water fill up and a hot meal I can offer you. . Lol
Oh, very helpful! I hope to make it up to Tennessee and I appreciate the invite! Thank you so much!!! 💗
Oh nice! I love hearing what others are doing that works for them! I'm getting lots of ideas! Thank you so much ❤️
❤
Really great job.
Great job!
This was a great video ❤❤❤❤❤❤. I love it
A 3 to 5 gallon buckets work wonders for emergencies.
Magnetic hooks can be used to put up hats, tote bags, jacket, light etc.
Nice van. I'm looking into getting a van and doing some exploring. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Have fun out there!
Love it and the simplicity of it is amazing.
Thank you! 😊
Awesome, very helpful! I'm very much looking forward to learning from others like you who, through trial and error, are making it work! I'm excited!
Where'd you get your bed?
Love the colors you chose and simple and organized 😊❤ Stay safe 😊❤
Thank you ❤️
Excellent
Yep, it doesn't have to be more complicated for fair weather camping a few nights.
I am planning a little more "build" with insulation, heater and a small electrical setup, but still in a NV and a budget build, but until I have time to do that, I will travel with a setup like your.
Awesome! Yes, with my set-up, I'm kind of going to have to chase that fair weather, but it sounds like you're going to have a real nice set up for more flexibility! I'm looking forward to future improvements in mine. Safe travels to you!!
Cooking, walmart. Has small propane/butane stoves
