I had a GM B-body (91 Caprice Classic) for the last 11 years witch I put almost 100000miles on and it had a total of 250000miles when I sold a few months ago and it was perfect working condition. Still enjoying the car here in Tucson. New "severe duty" shocks, brakes, upper and lower control arms, beefier rear anti-sway bar installed. (I like to stiffen up the suspension a bit) It gets better gas mileage than my 1996 Roadmaster wagon, even though they each have the same drive train, including a 2:93 to 1 differential ratio. I also replaced the power antenna and put in an after market radio and a 10 CD changer in the trunk. In the next couple of years I can imagine that I will replace the spark plugs and the rotor and cap on the Opti-spark distributor. I still have less than 73K miles on it, which includes my driving it back from FL.
    I think my next purchase might be a 1990-92 Brougham De Elegance with the 5.7 engine. But that engine has 75 less horsepower than this baby does! But the trim and interior were of higher qualtiy.
    I also replaced the dented driver's side front chrome trim and the cracked air dam parts on the front. For some reason Cadillac's plastic for the fender extensions and air dam was not as durable as the Roadmaster's were of these years. Different vendors made these parts I guess.

  • @TheMormonPower
    @TheMormonPower Год назад +1

    I had one several years ago. Chose it because I wanted a full sized car, with the "'Vette" engine. Several disappointments. Watch the video, and you'll see what I mean. 1. There is surprisingly little rear seat leg room. Everyone I showed the car to, noticed this immediately as well. 2. The full sized tore in the trunk, takes up a considerable amount of space, and there really doesn't leave that much space for other things. 3. The dashboard has a really dated feel about it...I say these things in comparison to the next car I replaced this with...A Lincoln Town Car....Interior had a much more High Quality modern feel to it. There was more leg room in the back. Much more real world usable space in the trunk, because it had a doughnut spare tire, recessed into a cavity in the bottom of the trunk well, just as all modern day cars do... effectively leaving you with much more actual usable space... Yeah, everyone likes a "Full Sized Spare" but hey effectively take up half the trunk....I really really wanted to love the Caddy more, but the Lincoln was a better car in every way, except for the motor, gotta love the Caddy's Corvette Motor...trade off though, is the Lincoln's motor was still a V8, it got noticably better gas mileage. Trust me, having both for a few years, the Lincoln was noticably the better car, I wanted the Caddy to be, but it just wasn't.

Now they want to make fast sporty cars as opposed to these wonderful roomy, charismatic, opulent, luxurious works of art. These vehicles are head turners not the egg shaped bland vanilla of today. I love a bench seat. Nice to just spread out and relax. Now you feel like a fighter pilot.
