This was my first car ever, & I’ll never forget how well she ran. Same color, same interior & the whole 9. I bought it in 1993, & I was 18 years old stationed in Norfolk Virginia aboard the USS THEODORE ROOSEVELT CVN-71! 👍🏿
Crazy but my accord is my 2nd car and a 2017. I was stationed in Norfolk VA as well. Just came across this video and seen your comment. Thank you for your service brother!
I had an ‘88 LXi. Got it in ‘94 and sold it in ‘02. I regret letting it go, I still dream about it. I got an ‘07 element in ‘06 and I still have the Elle to this day. I won’t let my Honda go this time! Thanks for the video!
My first car! 86' Accord LX (carbureted). This bought back so many memories & sounds like a sewing machine. I should have never got rid of that car, but I was 20 & didn't know sh*t!
Its definetly one of mine too. I just got a bmw e34 thats slightly cleaner than this honda but it dont got no pop up headlights, gold paint and bulletproof reliabilty. These are like unicorn status now. Theyll be air cooled porshe 911 price eventually. Well theyll be outta my price range anyhow. Already are.
I had one just like this but an EXi model with a moonroof, 5 speed manual, but no a/c. Bought it new and drove it for ten years. Zero problems and everything worked when I traded it in for something new. It was quite quick with the smooth five speed manual. Many fond memories of that car.
@@anthonyg9389 I wanted a pick up truck and bought a new Ford F150. Guy I worked with heard about it and raced to the Ford dealer to buy my Accord. Interesting seeing my former Honda parked at work for a few years. I pamper my vehicles.
@@anthonyg9389 No, he was not a car guy. He just wanted reliable transportation. The car was in very good condition both inside and out. No accidents and moderate mileage. Parked in a carport and I had washed and waxed it regularly.
Nice time capsule, Anthony! I had a 1986 LXi 3-door hatchback with a 5-speed. Bought it in 1988 with 20K and drove it until 247K with minimal issues. Truly one of the moast well-built and reliable Honda products before the quality started degrading. Love those flip up headlights!! Whomever gets this will get many years of reliability.
After 35 years thisd car still rocks, I love the 1989 Honda Accord it is perfect jsut the way I like it, there very little cars that are perfect these day.
My late grandparents had a light blue 1989 Honda Accord LX sedan for over 20 years. I enjoyed just about everything about their car. It wasn't used very much, which led to it having problems down the road. They gave it to my cousins in 2012 and one of its tires wrapped around its axle in 2016, so it was sold to a mechanic. It only had about 137,000 miles or so, and the interior was still in very good shape for its age, so hopefully, its still around. I miss it so much. And if this is your car, I hope you continue to make good use out of it in the years to come. I'd love to have something like that sometime, or at least drive it.
That Honda is so outstanding clean, and despite looking at it of how awesome it looks and how well it drives, those are my favorite old classic cars like that. I’m surprised that who owns it and keeps it garage kept, I’m proud of them whoever owns that car.
Forgot to mention, the miles of 58k (nearly to 59k of the video playing), that’s not even nearly bad at all depending of how well maintain of the owners Honda
love seeing videos of these on the internet. I have an 88 accord LX but with the maroon interior, as well as an 87 DX hatchback that i just finished a manual swap on. Wouldn't trade them for the world. 110k on the sedan, 125k on the hatchback. Both carbureted lol.
LOL damnnnn this is old school😅. I have a 2015 honda accord sport, tan as well, with tan leather seats, and absolutely love it! So easy to fix these cars up!❤
The first car my mom ever owned, but hers was a year older and in a silver blue color. Very odd car. Four horn buttons which was the thing with this model back in those days (it was a carry over from the 2nd gen Accord,) but all in all, a very nice vehicle.
Friend, I have the same one. I'm looking for spare parts like the curved top side turn signals and also a front bumper. Do you know where I can get or buy online?
Hey, I've always wanted one these 1988 honda accord because they look so nice, I know that doesn't fit into the present year, but I like the look and the design of the car I hope I get one. 😢
I wouldn't want to know what the bill would be for the AC. Especially if you kept it running R12. My dad had one of these. Blue. He was also a Honda mechanic so that was convenient. 😊
@@anthonyg9389 just out of curiosity how much did you charge? And where did you find this Accord and how long did you own it before selling it? I am the type of person that would pay like $10,000 or $12,000 for the right Accord in good shape really like these older Accords.
