Even if the account was funded by a friend as long as a payment with the account holders name on is used there is no way for Sky Bet or IBAS to prove unequivocally that the payment from a friend was used for the purposes of betting. Anyway the reason friends would be funding other friends accounts is because Sky and other sportsbooks restrict or boot off any winning players. Its kind of a reaction to their own actions basically. So all these companies get to advertise as they like to get the customers in then what they are doing to siffling through the pile and deciding which ones are profitable and what ones are not and will basically boot off or restrict anyone too sharp. @CaanBerryProTrader you should cover a recent one where a punter was on for 9k after a corner bet in an Oldham Athletic game landed on his acca. Sky voided the selection reducing his winnings by about 4k something. The funny thing is sky bet had already marked the selection as a winner for punters on for £3 winnings. Sky bet cited there was no footage of the game. The punter then obtained footage directly from Oldham. So Sky then locked his account. They did everything they could not to pay this 9k out. Also they committed fraud themselves by selecting which punters would get paid on the selection lol. Happened about 3 months ago. All over twitter. Check it out. Disgusting how these companies behave and what they get away with.
@@AgainstTheRopesUK Surely for £9K I hope punter took it further, legal action or such to get his winnings. It's criminal the GC is not making sure the industry plays fair.
The Gambling Commission is not fit for purpose. Not only are they doing nothing to help punters in cases like this but the checks that they allow betting companies to do to prevent problem gamblers are being used to cheat punters from winning. It needs a total overhaul.
If money is already in the banking system, why do they need to check for money laundering. This is done at the point of deposit at the banks. Ridiculous.
Is it though. I have had large sums of money deposited to my account and the bank has never contacted me to check the source. However you could go out on a massive shopping spree and not have to show the source of your funds. Why gambling, well it looks to me like the bookies lobbied *for* and not against these rediculous checks because they know it can be exploited in order to not pay out winnings.
Lets face it - winning "fair and square" is not normally a problem. 90% of customers will never have an issue. A constant referral to "legitimate" winnings isn't necessary true. There are some stunningly bad decisions (the Coral Rangers Bet springs to mind) and I am all in favour of an Aus style minimum win for restricted accounts but lets not pretend that opening multiple accounts in different names, using other peoples accounts where your account is restricted or using (and this is key) "a recreational bookmaker to run a business (ie exchange laying) isn't a form of fraud
Great video Caan! I think the best practice would be just to deposit for each individual bet and if it wins withdraw straight away keeping the funds in your account, not theirs.
After this weekend it's also clear that Opta are also very shady. A tipping service tipped Weigl FGS in the M'Gladbach game. He was FGS, as the first goal was clearly an own goal (striker headed it but it was going wide, it was put in by the defender). However, Opta didn't acknowledge the first goal as a own goal, though it clearly was, so the Weigl goal was recorded as AGS rather than FGS. They're all in it together this lot. (apart from Bet365 who recognised the mistake and paid out)
@CaanBerryProTrader Caan thanks for the reply 👍 The people in power in league with the bookmakers and people within the industry- ex jockeys, presenters and tipsters all with their noses in the trough = a closed shop and a dying game for the average punter.

This is why you don't give them bank statements because they bend it how they see fit. What's to say they couldn't do it with wages? Third party could mean anyone they deem so,, they could claim the company paying your wages "could" be third party. And 99% of people can't take these scumbags to court can they,, public have allowed all this by just sitting back and doing feck all whilst they ironfist the fook out of that very public.

They're just criminals loving people who lose and not paying out when people win. As for the regulator they are a waste of time. Not even applying their own rules. The gambling industry in this country is getting away with murder.
Of all the hickey mouse companies around sky bet must be the worst thieves obviously as well. Any chance of getting this excellent expose on itv racing then those clowns on it practically all of whom are employed in some capacity by betting firms would have questions to answer. That won't happen as it would upset the cosy arrangement they have with the punter ultimately having no body to fight his corner.
Is there any chance you can do something about sky poker as online poker is even more corrupt with the random number generator house bots at the tables who take down the biggest of the prizes for the house I’m a really good player who wins consistently in live poker but online I would win consistently as a new player after that it was really difficult to make any profit so I stopped playing online
The developers have created the algorithm all money to go in circulation generating rake. From every pot they take 5 percent, from every tournament entry 10 percent....on top of everything they put bots, because there are no enough players
Bookies have racing trainers,ex jockeys etc begging us to sign a petition to prevent affordability chacks coming in and yet this is how they treat their customers?! Its laughable!!!
Alot of stuff I agree with on here, proof of age should be sought at sign up stage. Alot of betting companies have a challenge on entry requirement when it comes to getting ID from young looking customers, same standard should apply with "entry" so to speak for online. But however I dont think your customer your describing is an average joe bloggs punter, you average punter does not deposit £500 from the get go, and it does seem like from what your saying they where placing bets on behalf of third party. Put again if the £500 is a red flag, checks should be done before bets placed.
Hopefully everyone stops giving their money to these crooks. Yes, it's a waste of money when one loses, but they don't like people getting their money for wins. This is not new. It happens to bricks and motar betting shops too, calling the police to get out of paying up.
I only found out last year that online bookies can band you / stake restrict you, it's actually insane. How can they have the cheek to put adverts out promoting themselves when they ban you if you win for a period of time. Might as well stick to betting shops if you're a sharp.
I literally know nothing about horses, but did a sign up offer from a bookie. Money back if your horse lost etc. But my horse won. First and only bet on the account. The bookie said that my "betting patterns" weren't "consistent", confiscated my winnings and closed my account. This left me exposed on the exchange and I lost money. LOL
Sue. It's unfortunately the only way sometimes. It might be time-consuming and expensive, but you could also end up with a nice pay cheque at the end. And it's surely a slam dunk case.
What would happen if you send them a bank statement/verification before you place a bet ? When balance is at zero ? would that still allow them to ask to verify when funds are available for a withdrawal?
This was going on years ago with other bookies. They should ask for ID when you open the A/c but they know that a lot of folk will not bother and terminate their application. I have only one a/c now with smarkets and these guys have been great. Betting companies are the bigger set of bandits I have come across. Government should slap some heavy fines on these lot
It's behaviour like this that causes an individual to download pdf editing software and always edit out people's info on bank statement so there are no peer to peer transactions. It also makes individuals state they are paperless for ethical and religious reasons and cannot therefore by law be forced to send in posted copies. Using separate sims and devices when connecting to bookies also...

100%. no smoke without fire. The bookies do this with a tiny fraction of their members because they are obliged to by law. If the punter is legit, there would be no problem.

This is disgusting from Sky. It really is time these crooks are taking to task and get properly exposed if any media outlet have the kahunas to report it properly. They should ask every single account holder for sufficient ID, and before it is produced they shouldn't be allowed to deposit and bet. Once supplied and Sky are happy that should be the end of it and any winnings paid. They don't do this because it will cost them money, the money they can in effect rob from their customers.

@@CaanBerryProTrader It is illegal to have unfair T&Cs. Sky need to be taken to court and get proper media coverage of it too.
@@AgainstTheRopesUK Surely for £9K I hope punter took it further, legal action or such to get his winnings. It's criminal the GC is not making sure the industry plays fair.
Another demonstration of why I don't bet.
Victim mentality. These cases dont happen with everyone and are very rare.
The Gambling Commission is not fit for purpose. Not only are they doing nothing to help punters in cases like this but the checks that they allow betting companies to do to prevent problem gamblers are being used to cheat punters from winning. It needs a total overhaul.
It doesn't even make any sense. We're going to protect you from financial harm by confiscating your money... wtf
You could say the same about regulatory bodies. They nearly always side with the bank or solicitor/doctor
Do not send any bank statements.
Why gambling, well it looks to me like the bookies lobbied *for* and not against these rediculous checks because they know it can be exploited in order to not pay out winnings.

nah the problem is the soft bookmaker model. Sharp bookies are still good
@@davidz2690which bookmakers would you say are still good
Lets face it - winning "fair and square" is not normally a problem.
The most sense I have heard/read on this thread so far. 🙏 you are my hero
Great video Caan! I think the best practice would be just to deposit for each individual bet and if it wins withdraw straight away keeping the funds in your account, not theirs.
Close your Skybet account if you have one. Good video 👌
Gam stop the best thing ever invented for gambling.
(apart from Bet365 who recognised the mistake and paid out)
This sort of thing happens a lot with opta and shots on target.
So does play ojo banned me for winning all the time and banned me for no reason
Brilliant video Caan !
...wish it never had to be made TBH.
@CaanBerryProTrader Caan thanks for the reply 👍 The people in power in league with the bookmakers and people within the industry- ex jockeys, presenters and tipsters all with their noses in the trough = a closed shop and a dying game for the average punter.
@CaanBerryProTrader happened to me on both skybet and bet365 they will allow you to withdraw biggish funds twice then send the safer gambling email skybet lifted 200 profit off of me using the same process, ibas were no help whatsoever, investigated it but still sided with skybet

I’ve used other peoples accounts too bet with , especially during lockdown , it’s not easy too do now though .
Whoever your referring too in this particular case was pretty dumb about it . If your doing transactions for a third party , do all the deals with cash , don’t leave a paper trail . Lesson learnt
Exactly, no smoke without fire. The gaming companies are just following the law.
I got cheated out of winning 1200 on betfair jackpot pinball game got 50p instead it landed in jackpot pot when I did spin on game then went to winning screen showed 50p and they wanted a screenshot though I tried flashed of screen to quick and to make it worst I know the jackpot was not won on that day
no sympathy for playing on online games from me.
@@SpannerfaceYou are such a humanitarian,Nobel peace prize for you !
This just happened on Ladbrokes too. It landed in 100 (relating to £100) and they put £1 in the balance. Utter shizters.
I've stopped gambling for over 2 years it's not worth the hassle . I'm not sharing any of my details .
This is why I never bet online
This is happening in betting shops as well mate.
Do all these restrictions exist for slots and casino customers where the real problem gamblers are ?
Of course not mate they solved that problem by restricting you to a maximum bet on the fixed odds machines. Now nobody ever gambles on those.......
The restrictions are 100% there for all and any games offered by the online gaming companies.
The max bet restriction also 100% benefits the gambler and the integrity of the business.
In some cases Skybet even ask "have you ever met an a.i? I'm Eva, your new artifical girlfriend", was the weirdest placed and timed ad I've ever had
This is odd I have never had an issue in my life to do with withdrawing etc... seems odd to me that you have even seen this issue
Bookies have racing trainers,ex jockeys etc begging us to sign a petition to prevent affordability chacks coming in and yet this is how they treat their customers?! Its laughable!!!
Wonder if your ever cover where the money from GC fines go. I have solid info none reaches the customers
I bet they don't cheat you out of your loss.
Question, what happens if you just call gaming immediately like they do in America when card counters get f’d over their money?
Hopefully everyone stops giving their money to these crooks. Yes, it's a waste of money when one loses, but they don't like people getting their money for wins. This is not new. It happens to bricks and motar betting shops too, calling the police to get out of paying up.
This is why I stick to my £1 footy accumulators Instore with paddy power I even get my pound back as a free bet if one team let's me down 😂
The house always wins I suppose
I only found out last year that online bookies can band you / stake restrict you, it's actually insane. How can they have the cheek to put adverts out promoting themselves when they ban you if you win for a period of time. Might as well stick to betting shops if you're a sharp.
Why? Just bet on the exchanges if you are that good.
If you are match betting then go into town and use the myriad of bookies there.
LOL
It's nothing new. Land bookies would restrict regular winning customers decades ago
Betting shops also ban you, or prevent you taking odds, so you can't get an edge.
So stay clear of Sky Bet… but how are the other bookies in the UK, same underhanded methods..?
They don't ask at that point usually, funny eh?
This was going on years ago with other bookies. They should ask for ID when you open the A/c but they know that a lot of folk will not bother and terminate their application. I have only one a/c now with smarkets and these guys have been great. Betting companies are the bigger set of bandits I have come across. Government should slap some heavy fines on these lot
I'd call the police with details before i did anything, won't do anything but you'll have a case number to start with
Who are the corporate executives at skybet? They have names and addresses. "Voice your displeasure" with them in person.
Closed my account years ago put a complaint but as usual nothing happened
It's behaviour like this that causes an individual to download pdf editing software and always edit out people's info on bank statement so there are no peer to peer transactions. It also makes individuals state they are paperless for ethical and religious reasons and cannot therefore by law be forced to send in posted copies. Using separate sims and devices when connecting to bookies also...

Isn't it to do with checking for money laundering - looking to see where the money came from, to see if it's from criminal activity?
Obviously not, they took away their winnings and gave back £500. If it was AML/crime they aren't allowed to.
That's what they say the reason is. Clearly a complete lie though. Those kind of checks might be needed if people were depositing 100k or something but most of these people being asked for statements have won hundreds or less.
100%. no smoke without fire. The bookies do this with a tiny fraction of their members because they are obliged to by law. If the punter is legit, there would be no problem.
@@paulpayne8177 They do it with winners only and can be months/years down the line. It is an abuse of power and they know it, but they also know they have people in Government/GC/Media who all happily stand by and accept it, and will all have a few free days out at some sporting events - it's rotten to the core.
Real simple solution. Don’t take their shit, find out where the office is and pay them a visit, let them have it upon arriving! If companies feared a mob turning up, they’d not try mugging people off.

@CaanBerryProTrader that's disgusting because any other business that breaches gdpr like this would be fined a percentage of their annual turnover but these crooks get away with murder makes me sick.
The gambling industry has a lot of money which equals power
We all need to set up a group where we close all our betting sites until the terms and conditions are fair and these dirty things they do are stopped. If enough people get together and close their accounts then things will change. Does anyone think this is a good idea and can be implicated??
Hello how are you ? I'm interested in pre-live learning on horses, but my language is Portuguese, is there any way to translate your course? because I don't know anything about English..
The bookies are getting beyond a joke
This is disgusting from Sky. They do what they want and really should be taken to court especially if their T&Cs are not fair which is illegal, and the GC say that they are basically in the wrong (but will do nothing about it).
