The one thing nobody ever addressed about the Lick It Up album cover is the juxtaposition of what the debut album cover was with Ace and Peter how was their faces were against a black background, to the new era with the band which was a white background. It was KISS as if they were new band. I thought that was brilliant and I’m not sure if they even realized it. Gene sticking out his tongue was a smart move to bridge the past with the present. Just in case anyone had their doubts if it wasn’t KISS.
You guys had a gentleman on some years back (was their tour manager I believe) that had a similar story concerning Paul dismissing him in front of his son when they went to see Paul backstage at a show. A theme is developing whereby Paul just drops people it appears. Also, the Howard Marks conversation was very interesting. I would have loved to hear more about that.
Great interview with Mitch W. So much information & so many stories. That was truly amazing. Miss a week & you bounce back with that. Great stuff 3 Sides.
I love hearing these stories. It’s the minutia which really can make the band. It also makes them more human rather than the rock stars we know them as.
Episode 499 has raised the bar for episode 500 so maybe a part 2 with Mitch?(An early congratulations on 500 episodes by the way. I'm really looking forward to it!) However thanks to 3 Sides and to Mitch Weissman for a really fascinating episode. Awesome job guys👍😀👍
I really like these podcasts. It’s like sitting down with some friends and one of them just happens to be someone like… Forrest Gump! Or Zelig! Very cool podcast episode and a very nice man, Mr. Weissman.
Thumbs 👍 up from me!! AEROSMITH ALERT ⚠️ in the 19th minute!! 'Would you look at the time ⏲️!!'. Blue Kool-Aid Drinker. Peace ✌️ out from the Southern Tip of Vancouver Island 🏝 , B.C. Canada 🇨🇦.
@@mitchweissman5045 well I finally got to sit down and listen to the whole thing and you seem like a genuine dude so I'll put aside my cynical nature and believe it. I'm just an A hole sometimes. Would enjoy more episodes of this for sure.
Easy tough guy behind a keyboard. Having listened to your show SINCE THE BEGINNING, you can always tell when someone doesn’t have the facts straight, and Mark knows it. I’ll still listen, but don’t @ me toolbag tough guy.
Just because you have so much money (all invested in and around Cleveland, Glickman and Mark's home town) doesn't mean you can't be "cash" poor. Pay the expenses in life, ie lights, gas, office expenses, salaries, insurances, etc. Yeah, you can overextend yourself. Also, don't take things so literally!
These episodes where acquaintances tell little stories about KISS members are easily my faves. Brings us just a little bit closer into those eras.
Two words:
Incredible episode.

I never noticed that, great observation!
@@greenmantles Thank You! 😁👍🏻🤘🏻

Mind-blowing minutia is an understatement.
One of the best episodes of the year.
Tool hosted this one like the king of the mountain.. Great job guys!
Damn that was a awesome show and Mitch has to comeback for sure, the sooner the better, it was a joy listening to him.

This might be my fav episode. Nice work👍🏼. Dude seems like a really nice cat.

Get all you can take is one of my favorite songs! Great interview!
Saw Mitch in Beatlemania on Broadway. He learned to play left handed guitar so it would look genuine when he sang Yesterday!!!!!!!!!
I love the song While the city sleeps. Great song on Animalize.
Thanks. I released a version included on Buffalo Rock City last year.
Mitch was also on MTV with Paul, when Paul hosted his own show there. He was the Paul McCartney lookalike eating pizza with Paul Stanley

Topped yourselves once again! Unbelievable - THANK YOU for this!!!
Awesome conversation! :D
very kool about the songs - im always interested in UNRELEASED tracks
Nice flute playing Brandvolds got balls lol
Check John Lennon and Cheap Trick I'm Losin You, same era. John may have sung with Gene. The were both living in NYC!
Thanks Mitch. Gene’s ‘78 solo album has always been my favorite since I bought at K-Mart in 1978. Love the Beatles influence.
gene owned the moneybag logo way back then... NEVER knew
Best episide since adam Mitchell!
Great show guys! I have to say him picking the Lick It Up cover! It is a great shot!

Great show!
Exquisite
Mitch looks like Corky Stasiak
Mitch should have declined the flute request.
For episode 500, Mark should (shudder)... open something!
good one
Looking good Mark. Lost some weight?
Murder In High Heels is my least favorite Kiss song.🤐
You can't please everyone but it's cool. At least you know the song! Lol
@@mitchweissman5045 Yeah, and I really like Get All You Can Take, so that kind of evens things out.👍
Thank you for that! One of my favs, too.
I love the tune!
I have a hard time with anyone whose stories seem to place them at every important moment of a famous person's life.
I can tell you stories about non important stuff, too! Lol
Would you rather Mitch share stories about the last time he bought a Big Mac?
Sorry I'll reword I have a hard time believing anyone's stories that seemingly places them at every significant event of a famous person's life.
People don't live in a vacuum. Even Alexander Graham Bell had his associate come in to see what he had done.

You know a guest is full of shit when Mark doesn’t hardly say a thing the whole interview. Phone book to call Bruce? Gene broke?
I would say the listener is full of shit when they write a stupid comment like that. Clueless.
