- The 3rd of 3 Star Wars games on the SNES. This game also holds the special yet unfortunate distinction as the last SNES game that I ever had the chance to rent from the video store before all those games were sold off to make room for PS1, N64 and PS2 games at the time. And its a very fitting end to a classic game trilogy as well. I feel that by this game the series had really hit its stride in having 5 playable characters instead of just 3, being able to have multiple choice for characters in most levels like in A New Hope where as in Empire Strikes back there was no choice in characters and that may have made the game more difficult than it had to be. And speaking of the series difficulty I found this game to be the easiest and the most balanced of the 3 by quite a distance. With a password system, not quite as challenging boss battles, the rebel alliance tokens acting as points and collecting 100 means an extra life definitely helps make the game more manageable then the previous 2 in the trilogy. But that's not to say that it isn't difficult either. The Rancor boss was hell (no idea how to beat it with Luke), the Endor Shield Bunker was very long and rather unforgiving in spots and the battle with Emperor Palpatine is arguably tied with the final boss fight from ESB as the hardest boss battle in the series. So its certainly not a walk in the park by any means. But overall the game is an extremely worthy conclusion to an already great series of platformer's and are arguably my 2nd favorite platforming series of games ever and its quite possible to say that this game is the best and most well-rounded of the series. A game/trilogy everyone should try! And this playthrough was done on my actual game cartridge as well.

ive played this game. *sees deathless* holy shit dude.
How I managed to complete this game back when I was 8 or 9 is still a damn mystery. Like most old-school titles, it required A LOT of patience.
Same here, i rented this when i was 13 back in mid 90s and beated it and nowadays cant even pass 2 or 3 stages lol
I remember flying out of the death star was the hardest stage for me
Never beat that stage when i was a kid. it was too tough lol
It was hard and confusing. Almost gave me eye cancer. Still beat it. 😁

Oh man, that first level is eternally burned into my mind because I remember playing it as a teenager and I was super pissed because my mom barged into my room to use my computer, haha.
I always found it strange that Oola, the doomed dancer was considered an enemy in this game.
I had so much trouble with the emperor when I played this as a kid. Turns out you can just stand on him and dodge most of his lightning lmao
I like how, even back then, Palpatine is chilling during the end credits while you keep hearing him laugh because he knew he'd be back in time for Episode IX!
I remember seeing pictures of the game long before I actually played it and thinking that A.) Palpatine looks right creepy, and B.) I'm sure he's gonna be bloody hard. Was not disappointed!
I always got lost in that damn Rancor level.

That doesn't work. I tried it like a million times. Down+Y does nothing but keep swinging the staff.

I has a heck of a time with it the first few times I beat the game but I got used to it after a while. The battle with Emperor and the Rancor monster still standout as a total nightmare to do on some days lol
I would usually choose Han Solo for the Rancor Level.

+Liquidcadmus I played it all the time when I was younger. I wasn't any good at it. But when I see that it's a deathless playthrough...it's expected to be playing on normal mode or higher.
easy back in the day is differenr from the easy mode today.
