    I really look forward to your videos! I like the day in the life style, I mightn’t be your target demographic but I’d appreciate a beginners guide to weight lifting, technique etc. 🐝

    Great videos Andrew! Really appreciate your practical and down to earth approach to training and lifestyle. Specifically regarding the topic of nutrition, how did you work out what types of food and which quantities work best for you? I’m asking since I’ve started hybrid training one and a half years ago but lost quite some weight (including muscle mass) along the way, so I’m trying to find a way to optimise the training-nutrition balance so that I’ can properly fuel my training. Any advice would be most welcome!

    Another good vid. When I step up the training load, I weigh myself every day first thing and aim for stability at my race weight - which has been establlshed through trial and error over time. If I'm dropping I add in more sweet potatoes and walnuts over the day. Unexpected big drops and it's spoonfuls of peanut butter and raisins. Question: do you take any supplements?

      Thanks this is very useful and kind of the approach I’ve gravitated towards in my short running journey so far. I don’t take any supplements no - in general I try to eat a wide balanced diet and get my micronutrients from whole foods. But to be honest with you most people could probably benefit from a few supplements at certain times of year (e.g. vitamin d, omega 3) depending on their specific circumstances and during winter i know i probably will start taking vitamin D. Might also be trialling creatine soon for the first time which is one of the very few supplements in the ‘fitness’ world with any evidence of positive benefits in terms of performance albeit modest 👍🏼

      @@AndrewRussellFitness Thank you. FWIW, I only take B12 (being a weirdo vegan). I live in the tropics so don't think D3 is needed given my regular sun exposure. Two handfuls of walnuts as part of breakfast each day should see me right with the omegas.
      I am torn on creatine. I see the benefits for the over 60s (of which I'm one) but I fear the unregulated supplement industry will for reasons of economy produce an adulterated product and I'm not keen to up my levels of Chinese talcum powder. Also, whilst it may be an urban legend, the supposed link between creatine and hair loss gives me pause. Believe me when I tell you, you'll miss that barnet when its gone.

    Very specific question but when you bench press without the safety/spotter do you just know you can do the weight or would you roll it down your stomach or something if you couldn't? (can you tell I'm new to bench)

    • @AndrewRussellFitness
      @AndrewRussellFitness  2 месяца назад +1

      I just know I can do the weight, i very rarely work to failure and increase weight incrementally week on week before mixing rep schemes up/reducing weight the following session if I’m approaching failure. Would always get a spotter on bench if I anticipated a 10/10 set 👍🏼 good luck with your training!

    I noticed in the gym the lights were flickering, if you can change your camera's shutter speed to 1/100 I think it will make the flicker of the 50hz (UK) lights stop on your recordings at 30fps, although it may make the image darker and reduce the blur (making it look less natural) depending on your current settings. ruclips.net/video/FLQMvDfERrs/видео.htmlsi=l2gdolSj4BmwN6ss This video might help, if you are curious, also I like your advice and videos.

      Thanks man really appreciate this - found it so frustrating in the edit but all the videos I watched were how to fix in post rather than fix the underlying problem! Keep a look out for my future vids to see if it worked 😂

    Ngl I feel like I have seen this exact video a few times already, I’m just a random commenter and you don’t need to pay any attention to me. But you may want to know that some of your audience prefers variety. Even if that means less frequent videos. Don’t let the algorithm determine your creative output.

      I somewhat agree, but if you go back to his older videos they're a lot different/more variety on topics.
      I still really enjoy them

      Fair point, but these are also the videos I am most often requested to do - hard to get to know exactly what my audience likes as aside from views - comments are the only feedback I can go off but inevitably only a small minority of my audience ever comment on my videos. Next few months of vids I’ve got planned will give a lot more variety 👍🏼

      Goodr glasses are great for running and they’re only £30. I did a 50km ultra last month and used them for it. Try Tailwind on your run for electrolyte/carb fuel too if you can get your hands on it. Keep up the good work :)
