Great video! Are you planning on making a similar video series on Monogatari? As one of my favorite series, I'd watch the hell out of that! 😄 Either way, keep up the good work!
I preferred zaregoto to monogatari because its less popular and its realy fun showing it to friend and make theorys about it, so thank you for talking about it
Amazing video :3 was worth the wait, only 2 criticisms : 1-you owe us a "Ree-chaar-ging." 2- that the video ended felt like 5min when it was 1h , thus a petition to make it 12hours so it would feel like 1hour Jokes aside, that was amazing , i enjoyed the puppet show waaaay too much with the chars and tohru :3 hopefully this video does well , you deserve that after all that hardwork. Also excited to see you talk about the next volumes (i kinda wonder which volume are you reading/planning to read in the meantime)
thank you very much for the comment, maybe there'll be a ree-chaar-ging in my video on volume 2 as for what ill read, ill have to pace myself on zaregoto just so that i can have the best memory of it i can when i actually get around to making the video. might read boukyaku tantei in the meantime, or perhaps finally get around to haruhi
Only got through the intro but it has a lovely charm to it. I definitely understand the struggles of coming up with any form of visuals for light novel content because "text on screen" is boring af! I will come back to this video when I get the chance but great editing as usual!\.
Is he an artist? I know for Monogatari and Forgetful Detective Series he partners with Vofan. His name is "Never revealed". Huh... a little long but you know... you be you. The better part of Nisemonogatari's novel is of course... the SD Card. Liked your style
So something I think you missed, that is also revealed in this book, is that even the genius painter Ibuki Kanami, who was disguised as Sonoyama Akane, WASN'T actually Ibuki Kanami either. Ibuki Kanami is in a wheelchair, therefore, it wouldn't make sense for her to be able to switch with Sonoyama Akane. Aikawa's proposed solution to this, is that this isn't the first bodyswap she's ever done. She could have been someone completely different than Kanami or Sonoyama in the past, and could also become someone else in the future. Regardless, great video. I love Zaregoto and it's a shame that RUclips really doesn't have many videos of it.
i mostly neglected to mention it simply because the video was never intended to depict a full version of all the mysteries and their answers, hence why i skipped over much of the explanation of the first mystery and entirely skipped over the one regarding iria's identity. perhaps i should've included it since it is a fairly big revelation, but it's a pretty offhanded remark on jun's end in the context of the story so i'm not really surprised my past self didn't bother putting it in. regardless, thanks for the feedback :>
Man, I am really happy to see Zaregoto content. I've been reading the series since last summer and am currently on book 8. I can without a doubt say it is already my favorite series by Nisioisin. Get ready for an amazing ride it just continues to get better.
1:46 this is prime meme material (edit:) 51:37 Yo dude I've been trying to write a story about solipsism too! What an interesting coincidence lol. Also, the fact you've put your book on hold is painfully relatable, as I've been stuck on plotting out the main character's arc/delivery of the core message for 2 months now lmao
just found this vid because of yt algorithm and i can't stress enough how happy i am to see someone covering some of my favourite works of fiction of all time
I love that your also doing art in the videos.I’ve been feeling consious about my art recently but seeing you draw has made me more motivated to draw!Thank you and I hope that your art improves in the way you wish for it to improve in the future :D
awesome video, i enjoyed it a lot. you can find _some_ content on kubikiri cycle on youtube (though mainly the anime), but almost none on the other volumes, so i do hope you get to make those videos on the rest of the books. -i also definitely wouldn't mind more sekai interjections-
I love this style of video Also my first impression reading the first novel was that I knew everything that was gonna happen and everything that it will entail and how it was gonna end, in retrospect I consume most media with such folly, and so I want to be surprised by how the writer pulls it off. I'm let down when that doesn't happen and I get a crack of laughter when something cool happens. Nisin did both, he seemed to know you would know and he took you up on the challenge as well, the story can only be done in so many ways after all, if so might as well take it all the way till the end! And win! It was both vindicating and undermining at the same time. Needles to say Jun is best girl after all.
This is true, when I read the second volume I thought I knew everything, I mean I wasn't wrong about the murder but how the process actually played out left me with a wide open mouth. I was not expecting that ending at all
@@Crunchybagels the video!!! The book, i have already read all of 'em (except vol 10), and i also am a big nisio fan. Probably have read/watched almost everything he had done and i could find in english/portuguese (i'm brazilian) I'm just amazed how fucking funny this video is, its like, i don't even know how to say it just is really really really good Best zaregoto video ever
My only problem with the solution of the second locked room is *spoiler* that, if the body was in rigor mortis, the corpse would have been found in a really static, "unnatural" pose
@hotwheelskid5397 also that, yes The first killing, while convoluted, is fairly logical and I could come up on my own to the trick of the locked room (though it was only a supposition, and I was none the wiser about the whodunit and whydunit), but the second one was impossible to understand because the premise to the solution itself was simply scientifically wrong
@@hollowhusk5166 I can see it being a stretch, but it's likely that the body was still stuff when she escaped in the middle of the night. It would have softened by morning. I agree that the solution requires a lot of assumptions though. The only thing I think is super off is when they were burying "Kanami's" body Ii specifically carries her by her legs and he should have noticed that her legs weren't atrophied. I know there's some physical therapy that people can do to prevent some muscle loss, but it would still be pretty noticeable. That being said, I think a huge theme about this story is that you can't really figure out most things deductively in real life because there's rarely anything that you can be 100% certain is true.
ive tried watching the anime, but hated how it cut out a lot of things i felt were deeply important to the story. id recommend the novel infinitely more than the anime
Volume 2 of Zaregoto is my single favourite book ever written.
cant wait to get to it
indeed it was
Mine too ❤.
That AMV is actually good wtf

Is that Lum in the Sky with Diamonds?
(Apologies to John Lennon and Paul McCartney)

It just occurred to me that this is just Danganronpa, though i assume this book came out first.
41:12 omg I made that diagram. MOM BRING THE CAMERA I MADE IT INTO TV

it was an amazing diagram, had a lot of fun looking through it :)

"My breaking values, My melting ethics, My collapsing morals" sounds like a Nine Inch Nails lyric lmao
Okay but No One Understands Jun Aikawa when?
lmao sorry I've forgotten no one understands Jun Aikawa orz
That was an awesome video! This series fucked me up so I hope to see more videos hearing your thoughts about later volumes, it's a ride.

i meant "artist" in the general sense of creative expression through any medium

the second volume is definitely on my to-do list considering this video was a success, can't wait to check it out, heard great things about it :>
yo its finally here! good job
Phenomenal essay, looking forward to the rest of the series, my fav Nisio work by far
I cant fucking believe something like this exists

guys I think zaregoto might be deeper than you think
inb4 the 2 hour long sequel to this video
Honestly zaregoto is kinda of a mystery, comedy, slice of life, physiological lol the whole story is a mess but it's damn great
@@elpapuxDDReal Especially during the later books where the chaos is insane even for nisioisin standards

that, if the body was in rigor mortis, the corpse would have been found in a really static, "unnatural" pose
It would have been over 24 hours since death by the time everyone discovered it. The rigor mortis would have disappeared by then.
@hotwheelskid5397 also that, yes
The first killing, while convoluted, is fairly logical and I could come up on my own to the trick of the locked room (though it was only a supposition, and I was none the wiser about the whodunit and whydunit), but the second one was impossible to understand because the premise to the solution itself was simply scientifically wrong

There's a kubikiri cycle anime, should I watch they before reading the novels?
ive tried watching the anime, but hated how it cut out a lot of things i felt were deeply important to the story. id recommend the novel infinitely more than the anime
